RESUMO

As people's living standards and awareness of health care are increasing in recent years, the demand for the medicinal and food homologous substances is rising. Promoting the healthy development of this industry to meet people's growing demand and popularizing the TCM concept of preventive treatment of diseases are essential for building a healthy China. The abuse of pesticides by some growers in the one-sided pursuit of economic benefits causes serious pesticide residue, which affects the safety and effectiveness of the medicinal and food homologous substances. Since pesticide residues has received increasing attention, the reasonable control of pesticide residues becomes an important part of the research on these herbs, which, however, is rarely studied. This paper reviewed the publications involving pesticide residues in the cultivation of medicinal and food homologous substances that were published in the last two decades, and put forward the problems faced by the cultivation. According to the current situation of this industry, this paper proposed the management suggestions for the control of pesticide residues in the cultivation. This review will provide the government with data and references for formulating relevant policies and standards to promote the high-quality development of the industry of medicinal and food homologous substances and guarantee the development of TCM and the building of a healthy China.

RESUMO

In this paper, we investigate the Feshbach resonances of high partial waves and the influence of spin-spin (S-S) interaction on ultracold scattering processes. Taking the Na23- Rb87 system as an example, we plot the variations of weakly bound state energy and elastic scattering cross section with magnetic field and with collision energy. We find that the number of splittings in high partial wave Feshbach resonances does not strictly conform to the expected l + 1 (l is rotational angular momentum), and the deviation is attributed to the influence of bound states in other channels coupled by S-S interaction. For different ml (the projection of l on the external magnetic field direction), the effects of S-S interaction lead to different scattering patterns in the incident channels. These results reveal the complex features of ultracold scattering processes in high partial waves caused by S-S interaction.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic connective tissue autoimmune disease that can infiltrate arterial walls. The delay in diagnosis and treatment of rheumatoid vasculitis (RV) in patients with RA may lead to irreversible damage to the arterial walls of small-to-medium vessels, which has serious and devastating consequences, most notably lung and cardiac damage. In this work an ultrasound image-based biomarker was developed to detect precursory changes in RV. METHODS: The ground truth was initiated from a medical diagnosis of RA, with arterial wall thickening of the proximal dorsalis pedis artery (DPA) indicating precursory changes of RV identified with ultrasound scanning. Ultrasound images of the DPA from 49 healthy subjects in the control group and 46 patients in the RA group were obtained. In total, 187 texture features were extracted from the images, followed by principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis. RESULTS: The proposed biomarker detected a significant difference between the two groups (p = 5.74 × 10-18) with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.85. Ten major textural features contributing most heavily to the biomarker were identified, with these textures being consistent with clinical observations of RV identified in previous studies. Interscan reproducibility was assessed by computing the biomarker twice based on repeated scans of each ankle. High interscan reproducibility was demonstrated by a strong and significant Pearson's coefficient (r = 0.85, p < 0.01) between the two repeated measurements of the proposed biomarker. CONCLUSION: The proposed biomarker can discriminate image textural differences seen in images acquired from RA patients, demonstrating precursory changes in RV compared with healthy controls. The major discriminative features identified in this study may facilitate the early identification and treatment of RV.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Currently, tumor budding (TB) is defined as an important factor for a poor prognosis in various types of cancers. The authors identified a significant presence of TB-like structures at the tumor invasive front in giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB), which may have the same biologic function as TB. The objective of this report was to describe the distribution of TB in GCTB and investigate its correlation with clinicopathologic characteristics, the immune microenvironment, survival prognosis, and response to denosumab treatment. METHODS: This multicenter cohort study included 426 patients with GCTB who received treatment between 2012 and 2021 at four centers. Two independent pathologists performed visual assessments of TBL structures in hematoxylin-and-eosin-stained tumor sections. Immunohistochemistry was used to evaluate tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte subtypes (CD3-positive, CD4-positive, CD8-positive, CD20-positive, programmed cell death protein-1-positive, programmed cell death-ligand 1positive, and FoxP3-positive) as well as Ki-67 expression levels in 426 tissue samples. These parameters were then analyzed for associations with patient outcomes (local recurrence-free survival [LRFS] and overall survival [OS]), clinicopathologic characteristics, and response to denosumab treatment. RESULTS: High-grade TB was associated with poorer LRFS and OS in both patient groups. In addition, TB was correlated with various clinicopathologic features, tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte expression, and response to denosumab treatment. TB outperformed the traditional Enneking and Campanacci staging systems in predicting patient LRFS and OS. CONCLUSIONS: The current data support the assessment of TBL structures as a reliable prognostic tool in GCTB, potentially aiding in the development of personalized treatment strategies for patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) constitutes a considerable challenge for patients in intensive care units (ICUs) and necessitates the development of effective preventive strategies. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of inhaled antibiotics for preventing VAP. METHODS: PubMed, Embase, and ClinicalTrials.gov were searched until January 21, 2024. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the clinical efficacy of inhaled antibiotics for VAP prevention were included. RESULTS: Seven RCTs, involving 1465 patients, of whom 734 were classified as the study group receiving inhaled antibiotics and 731 as the control group receiving placebo were included in this meta-analysis. Overall, the occurrence of VAP was significantly lower in the study group than in the control group (risk ratio [RR], 0.69; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.51 to 0.92). However, there were no significant differences in mortality (RR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.74 to 1.09), length of stay in ICU (mean difference [MD], 0.10 days; 95% CI, -0.91 to 1.1) and hospital (MD, 0.30 days; 95% CI, -1.82 to 2.43), and mechanical ventilation (MV) duration (MD, 0.45 days; 95% CI, -0.45 to 1.35) between groups. CONCLUSION: Inhaled antibiotics hold promise for mitigating the risk of VAP among critically ill patients. However, their impact on mortality, length of stay in ICU and hospital, and MV duration was not statistically significant.

RESUMO

Material design is essential for the development and preparation of new materials. In this paper, a new two-dimensional heterostructure material (B@Si) consisting of boronene and silicene is designed and used as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries in order to improve the performance of lithium-ion batteries, and the structural properties, stability, electronic properties, and performance as an anode material for lithium-ion batteries are systematically investigated by first-principle calculations of the B@Si heterostructure. The results show that the B@Si heterostructure is energetically, thermodynamically and dynamically stable, and although the Dirac cone in the energy band structure of silicene disappears after the formation of the heterojunction, the overall electrical conductivity of the material improves considerably and the electron transport rate is faster. Due to the synergistic effect, Li has more stable adsorption sites and lower diffusion barriers than boronene and silicene in the B@Si heterostructure, higher theoretical specific capacity (1208 mAhg-1), and stronger mechanical properties (C11 = 296.6 N/m, C22 = 142.8 N/m). The volume expansion in the fully lithiated state is also only 8 %. These advantages indicate that B@Si heterostructures are good potential anode materials for high-performance Li-ion batteries.

RESUMO

Background: Radiation-induced heart disease (RIHD) is a serious complication of thoracic tumor radiotherapy that substantially affects the quality of life of cancer patients. Oxidative stress plays a pivotal role in the occurrence and progression of RIHD, which prompted our investigation of an innovative approach for treating RIHD using antioxidant therapy. Methods: We used 8-week-old male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats as experimental animals and H9C2 cells as experimental cells. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) was used as an antioxidant to treat H9C2 cells after X-ray irradiation in this study. In the present study, the extent of cardiomyocyte damage caused by X-ray exposure was determined, alterations in oxidation/antioxidation levels were assessed, and changes in the expression of genes related to mitochondria were examined. The degree of myocardial tissue and cell injury was also determined. Dihydroethidium (DHE) staining, reactive oxygen species (ROS) assays, and glutathione (GSH) and manganese superoxide dismutase (Mn-SOD) assays were used to assess cell oxidation/antioxidation. Flow cytometry was used to determine the mitochondrial membrane potential and mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) opening. High-throughput transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were used to elucidate the expression of mitochondria-related genes in myocardial tissue induced by X-ray exposure. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to verify the expression of differentially expressed genes. Results: X-ray irradiation damaged myocardial tissue and cells, resulting in an imbalance of oxidative and antioxidant substances and mitochondrial damage. NAC treatment increased cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) levels (P=0.02) and decreased lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release (P=0.02) in cardiomyocytes. It also reduced the level of ROS (P=0.002) and increased the levels of GSH (P=0.04) and Mn-SOD (P=0.01). The mitochondrial membrane potential was restored (P<0.001), and mPTP opening was inhibited (P<0.001). Transcriptome sequencing and subsequent validation analyses revealed a decrease in the expression of mitochondria-related genes in myocardial tissue induced by X-ray exposure, but antioxidant therapy did not reverse the related DNA damage. Conclusions: Antioxidants mitigated radiation-induced myocardial damage to a certain degree, but these agents did not reverse the associated DNA damage. These findings provide a new direction for future investigations by our research group, including exploring the treatment of RIHD-related DNA damage.

RESUMO

Objectives: This study aimed to elucidate the influences of 1p/19q co-deletion on structural connectivity alterations in patients with dominant hemisphere insular diffuse gliomas. Methods: We incorporated 32 cases of left insular gliomas and 20 healthy controls for this study. Using diffusion MRI, we applied correlational tractography, differential tractography, and graph theoretical analysis to explore the potential connectivity associated with 1p/19q co-deletion. Results: The study revealed that the quantitative anisotropy (QA) of key deep medial fiber tracts, including the anterior thalamic radiation, superior thalamic radiation, fornix, and cingulum, had significant negative associations with 1p/19q co-deletion (FDR = 4.72 × 10-5). These tracts are crucial in maintaining the integrity of brain networks. Differential analysis further supported these findings (FWER-corrected p < 0.05). The 1p/19q non-co-deletion group exhibited significantly higher clustering coefficients (FDR-corrected p < 0.05) and reduced betweenness centrality (FDR-corrected p < 0.05) in regions around the tumor compared to HC group. Graph theoretical analysis indicated that non-co-deletion patients had increased local clustering and decreased betweenness centrality in peritumoral brain regions compared to co-deletion patients and healthy controls (FDR-corrected p < 0.05). Additionally, despite not being significant through correction, patients with 1p/19q co-deletion exhibited lower trends in weighted average clustering coefficient, transitivity, small worldness, and global efficiency, while showing higher tendencies in weighted path length compared to patients without the co-deletion. Conclusion: The findings of this study underline the significant role of 1p/19q co-deletion in altering structural connectivity in insular glioma patients. These alterations in brain networks could have profound implications for the neural functionality in patients with dominant hemisphere insular gliomas.

RESUMO

Background: Teriparatide is approved for osteoporosis. Post-marketing surveillance is critical given its widespread use. Objective: To investigate adverse events (AEs) associated with teriparatide using the FAERS database, compare association strengths for key AEs, and explore potential applications to provide clinical reference. Methods: FAERS data from 2004 to 2023 were analyzed. Reports where teriparatide was the primary suspect drug were included. Adverse events were mapped to System Organ Classes and Preferred Terms. Disproportionality analysis using ROR, PRR, BCPNN and EBGM algorithms was conducted to detect safety signals. Results: Out of 107,123 reports with teriparatide as the primary suspect, key AEs identified included pain in extremity (PRR: 4.54), muscle spasms (PRR: 5.11), fractures (PRR range: 17.67-552.95), and increased calcium levels (PRR: 50.73). Teriparatide exhibited a stronger association with increased calcium levels (PRR: 50.73) compared to fractures (PRR range: 17.67-552.95). Notably, only 10.86% of AE reports were submitted by physicians and another 10% by other health professionals. Subset analyses showed a higher consistency of reported AEs from health professionals compared to the general dataset. Off-label uses were noted in conditions such as arthritis (0.57%) and cancer (0.12%). For osteoporosis, main AEs were pain (18.2%), fractures (12.4%), muscle spasms (7.7%), and nausea (6.5%), while glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis AEs included fractures (24.1%), pain (13.2%), decreased bone density (9.8%), and nausea (5.1%). Conclusion: Our findings provide real-world safety data on teriparatide, revealing key AEs and their association strengths. The low proportion of reports by healthcare professionals suggests the need for cautious interpretation. Continuous vigilance and further research are imperative to guide teriparatide's clinical use.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: The prognostic value of lymphocyte infiltration score (LIS) and its nearest neighbor distance to tumor cells (NNDTC) in giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) is currently not well established. This study aims to characterize LIS and NNDTC and examine their correlation with denosumab treatment responsiveness, clinicopathologic features, and patient prognosis. METHODS: Using multiplexed quantitative immunofluorescence, LIS was evaluated in 253 tumor specimens, whereas NNDTC was computed using HALO software. Subsequently, we analyzed the association of these parameters with patient outcomes (progression-free survival [PFS] and overall survival [OS]), clinicopathologic features, and denosumab treatment responsiveness. RESULTS: Low LIS was indicative of both poor PFS and OS (both P < .001). In addition, LIS was significantly associated with sex (P = .046), Enneking staging (P < .001), Ki-67 expression (P = .007), and denosumab treatment responsiveness (P = .005). Lower CD8+ (tumor interior [TI]) NNDTC, and CD3+ (TI) NNDTC were associated with worse PFS (P = .003 and .038, respectively), whereas lower CD8+ (TI) NNDTC was associated with worse OS (P = .001), but CD8+ (tumor infiltrating margin) NNDTC had the opposite effect (P = .002). Moreover, NNDTC showed a correlation with several clinicopathologic features. Importantly, LIS outperformed Enneking and Campanacci staging systems in predicting the clinical outcomes of GCTB. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that LIS is a reliable predictive tool for clinically relevant outcomes and response to denosumab therapy in patients with GCTB. These parameters may prove to be useful in guiding prognostic risk stratification and therapeutic optimization for patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The common cause of sodium nitrite poisoning has shifted from previous accidental intoxication by exposure or ingestion of contaminated water and food to recent alarming intentional intoxication as an employed method of suicide/exit. The subsequent formation of methemoglobin (MetHb) restricts oxygen transport and utilization in the body, resulting in functional hypoxia at the tissue level. In clinical practice, a mismatch of cyanotic appearance and oxygen partial pressure usually contributes to the identification of methemoglobinemia. Prompt recognition of characteristic mismatch and accurate diagnosis of sodium nitrite poisoning are prerequisites for the implementation of standardized systemic interventions. CASE SUMMARY: A pregnant woman was admitted to the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University due to consciousness disorders and drowsiness 2 h before admission. Subsequently, she developed vomiting and cyanotic skin. The woman underwent orotracheal intubation, invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV), and correction of internal environment disturbance in the ICU. Her premature infant was born with a higher-than-normal MetHb level of 3.3%, and received detoxification with methylene blue and vitamin C, supplemental vitamin K1, an infusion of fresh frozen plasma, as well as respiratory support via orotracheal intubation and IMV. On day 3 after admission, the puerpera regained consciousness, evacuated the IMV, and resumed enteral nutrition. She was then transferred to the maternity ward 24 h later. On day 7 after admission, the woman recovered and was discharged without any sequelae. CONCLUSION: MetHb can cross through the placental barrier. Level of MetHb both reflects severity of the sodium nitrite poisoning and serves as feedback on therapeutic effectiveness.

RESUMO

Currently, the oncogenic mechanism of endoplasmic reticulum stress-CAF (ERS-CAF) subpopulation in chordoma remains unknown. Here, single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler, data-independent acquisition proteomics, bulk RNA-seq, and multiplexed quantitative immunofluorescence are used to unveil the precise molecular mechanism of how ERS-CAF affected chordoma progression. Results show that hypoxic microenvironment reprograms CAFs into ERS-CAF subtype. Mechanistically, this occurrs via hypoxia-mediated transcriptional upregulation of IER2. Overexpression of IER2 in CAFs promotes chordoma progression, which can be impeded by IER2 knockdown or use of ERS inhibitors. IER2 also induces expression of ERS-CAF marker genes and results in production of a pro-tumorigenic paracrine GMFG signaling, which exert its biological function via directly binding to ITGB1 on tumor cells. ITGB1 inhibition attenuates tumor malignant progression, which can be partially reversed by exogenous GMFG intervention. Further analyses reveal a positive correlation between ITGB1high tumor cell counts and SPP1+ macrophage density, as well as the spatial proximity of these two cell types. Clinically, a significant correlation of high IER2/ITGB1 expression with tumor aggressive phenotype and poor patient survival is observed. Collectively, the findings suggest that ERS-CAF regulates SPP1+ macrophage to aggravate chordoma progression via the IER2/GMFG/ITGB1 axis, which may be targeted therapeutically in future.

RESUMO

Bound states in the continuum (BICs) on metasurfaces have garnered significant interest for their ultrahigh Q-factor potential in sensing applications. Reconfigurability and multi-band resonance are highly desirable for sensing systems. In this work, we introduce a metasurface comprising four nanocubes with different permittivity asymmetries, which can be dynamically adjusted using Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST225), a phase-change material, in the near-infrared (NIR) region. Additionally, a simulation for a liquid molecule sensor based on the metasurface shows a sensitivity of 1017 nm/RIU. This research introduces a novel, to the best of our knowledge, approach for designing multi-band, dynamically tunable quasi-BIC metasurfaces, which are good candidates for tunable, high-sensitivity biochemical sensing and nonlinear optics applications.

RESUMO

The functionality of activated sludge in wastewater treatment processes depends largely on the structural and microbial composition of its flocs, which are complex assemblages of microorganisms and their secretions. However, monitoring these flocs in real-time and consistently has been challenging due to the lack of suitable technologies and analytical methods. Here we present a laboratory setup capable of capturing instantaneous microscopic images of activated sludge, along with algorithms to interpret these images. To improve floc identification, an advanced Mask R-CNN-based segmentation that integrates a Dual Attention Network (DANet) with an enhanced Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) was used to enhance feature extraction and segmentation accuracy. Additionally, our novel PointRend module meticulously refines the contours of boundaries, significantly minimising pixel inaccuracies. Impressively, our approach achieved a floc detection accuracy of >95%. This development marks a significant advancement in real-time sludge monitoring, offering essential insights for optimising wastewater treatment operations proactively.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Fatigue affects nurses negatively and may influence life satisfaction. According to the stress process model, active coping might influence the impact of adverse conditions such as fatigue on well-being measures such as life satisfaction. However, no research examined the associations among nurses' fatigue, coping styles, and life satisfaction. METHODS: The cross-sectional study was conducted in Liaoning Province, China. 482 effective questionnaires were collected (effective response rate of 80.3%). The questionnaire included Fatigue Scale-14, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Satisfaction with Life Scale. The association among fatigue, coping styles and fatigue × coping styles interaction with life satisfaction was examined by hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The interaction was visualized by simple slope analysis. RESULTS: Mean score of life satisfaction was 22.74 ± 6.11. Active coping moderated the relationship between mental fatigue and life satisfaction. The impacts of mental fatigue on life satisfaction gradually decreased in the low (1 SD below the mean, ß=-0.400, P < 0.001), mean (ß=-0.312, P < 0.001), and high (1 SD above the mean, ß=-0.224, P < 0.001) groups of active coping. CONCLUSION: The life satisfaction of Chinese nurses was relatively low. Active coping could alleviate the impact of mental fatigue on life satisfaction. Developing active coping styles might be a crucial strategy to alleviate nurses' mental fatigue and improve life satisfaction.

RESUMO

Due to their ultrahigh Q-factor and small mode volume, bound states in the continuum (BICs) are intriguing for the fundamental study of the strong coupling regime. However, the strong coupling generated by BICs in one metasurface is not always strong enough, which highly limits its efficiency in applications. In this work, we realize a giant strong coupling of at most 60 meV in a quasi-BICs' (Q-BICs) tetramer metasurface composed of four Si cylinders with two different sets of diagonal lengths. The Q-BICs are induced from two types of electric quadrupole (EQ), for which detuning can be flexibly controlled by manipulating the C4v symmetry breaking Δd. The giant Rabi splitting in our proposed metasurface performs more than 15 times of the previous works, which provides more possibilities for important nonlinear and quantum applications, such as nanolaser and quantum optics.

RESUMO

The primary aim of this study was to analyze the evolving trends and key focal points in research on cellular metabolism of colorectal cancer (CRC). Relevant publications on cellular metabolism in CRC were sourced from the Science Citation Index Expanded within the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliometric analysis and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer (version 1.6.18) software and CiteSpace 6.1.R6 (64-bit) Basic. A comprehensive compilation of 4722 English-language publications, covering the period from January 1, 1991 to December 31, 2022, was carefully identified and included in the analysis. Among the authors, "Ogino, Shuji" contributed the most publications in this field, while "Giovannucci, E" garnered the highest number of citations. The journal "Cancer Research" ranked first in both publication volume and citations. Institutionally, "Shanghai Jiao Tong University" emerged as the top contributor in terms of published articles, while "Harvard University" led in citation impact. In country-based analysis, the United States held the top position in both publication output and citations, closely followed by China. The increasing recognition of the significance of cellular metabolism in CRC underscores its potential for novel therapeutic approaches aimed at improving CRC management and prognosis.

RESUMO

PM2.5 pollution remains prominent in autumn, whereas O3 pollution gradually manifests in summer. To understand the dual high characteristics and meteorological effects of PM2.5 and O3 in the summer and early autumn of 2021 in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of PM2.5 and O3 concentrations, as well as meteorological conditions, subtropical high index, and weather situation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas were analyzed. The results showed that PM2.5 concentration and DPO3 (O3 daily maximum 8h mean minus O3 concentration at 06:00) from June to September 2021 decreased compared with those in the same period in 2020 and 2022, and high concentrations were mainly occurring in June. The overall PM2.5 concentration and DPO3 showed a gradual decrease from the middle to the north and south, with synchronous spatiotemporal changes. The hourly value of PM2.5 concentration presented a multimodal distribution, reaching the peak at 07:00-10:00 and 22:00-24:00. O3 concentration showed an opposite trend of change with PM2.5 concentration, reaching their peak from 14:00-16:00. When DPO3 and the concentration of PM2.5 were high, the characteristics of near-surface meteorological elements were characterized by temperatures ranging from 24.0-28.0℃, relative humidity concentrated at 58.4%-76.3%, and wind speeds ranging from 1.5-3 m·s-1. There was a high lag correlation between the subtropical high index and DPO3. When the subtropical high was farther and stronger from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, DPO3 was higher. The major weather patterns with both high PM2.5 and O3 concentrations in the study area were near surface low-pressure front, high-pressure type, and frontal type. The high altitude was controlled by high-pressure ridges, and the subtropical high ridge line was stable between 21°-28°N.

RESUMO

In the investigation of heterotrimeric G protein-mediated signal transduction in planta, their roles in the transmittance of low K+ stimuli remain to be elucidated. Here, we found that the primary root growth of wild-type Arabidopsis was gradually inhibited with the decrease of external K+ concentrations, while the primary root of the mutants for G protein ß subunit AGB1 and γ subunits AGG1, AGG2 and AGG3 could still grow under low K+ conditions (LK). Exogenous NAA application attenuated primary root elongation in agb1 and agg1/2/3 but promoted the growth in wild-type seedlings under LK stress. Using ProDR5:GFP, ProPIN1:PIN1-GFP and ProPIN2:PIN2-GFP reporter lines, a diminishment in auxin concentration at the radicle apex and a reduction in PIN1and PIN2 efflux carrier abundance were observed in wild-type roots under LK, a phenomenon not recorded in the agb1 and agg1/2/3. Further proteolytic and transcriptional assessments revealed an enhanced degradation of PIN1 and a suppressed expression of PIN2 in the wild-type background under LK, contrasting with the stability observed in the agb1 and agg1/2/3 mutants. Our results indicate that the G protein ß and γ subunits play pivotal roles in suppressing of Arabidopsis root growth under LK by modulating auxin redistribution via alterations in PIN1 degradation and PIN2 biosynthesis.
