RESUMO
OBJECTIVES: An unusual case of malacoplakia is described and the literature reviewed. METHODS/RESULTS: We report on a patient on immunosuppression due to heart transplantation who developed malacoplakia of the epididymis. Patient history and treatment are discussed, with special reference to the differential diagnosis between this condition and tumors.

A case of neuroendocrine small cell carcinoma is described in a 79 year-old male. This tumor is an unusual laryngeal carcinoma (the incidence is slightly lower than 1% of all carcinomas) with an aggressive biological behaviour. This work analyzes its clinical, pathological, therapeutical and evolutive aspects, and compare this case to those reported in the literature.

A case of xantomatogranulomatous cholecystitis found in a review of 615 surgical gallbladders is reported, an incidence of 0.16%. Symptoms were those of acute cholecystitis. There was xantogranulomatous infiltration of the neighboring tissues. Both macroscopic and imaging features were those of a carcinomatous lesion. The definitive diagnosis was made by peroperative frozen sections.

Two cases of breast metastases from renal carcinoma are described herein. One patient underwent nephrectomy two years earlier and the other patient presented with bilateral involvement. The cytological features gleaned from fine needle aspiration biopsy are described. The diagnostic value of fine needle aspiration is underscored. This procedure makes surgery unnecessary and, furthermore, permits instituting a more adequate therapy.
