RESUMO

Utilizing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to model functional brain networks (FBNs) is increasingly prominent in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) research, revealing neural impact and mechanisms through the exploration of activated brain regions. However, current FBNs-based methods face two major challenges. The primary challenge stems from the limitations of existing modeling methods in accurately capturing both regional correlations and long-distance dependencies (LDDs) within the dynamic brain, thereby affecting the diagnostic accuracy of FBNs as biomarkers. Additionally, limited sample size and class imbalance also pose a challenge to the learning performance of the model. To address the issues, we propose an automated diagnostic framework, which integrates modeling, multimodal fusion, and classification into a unified process. It aims to extract representative FBNs and efficiently incorporate domain knowledge to guide ADHD classification. Our work mainly includes three-fold: 1) A multi-head attention-based region-enhancement module (MAREM) is designed to simultaneously capture regional correlations and LDDs across the entire sequence of brain activity, which facilitates the construction of representative FBNs. 2) The multimodal supplementary learning module (MSLM) is proposed to integrate domain knowledge from phenotype data with FBNs from neuroimaging data, achieving information complementarity and alleviating the problems of insufficient medical data and unbalanced sample categories. 3) An ADHD automatic diagnosis framework guided by FBNs and domain knowledge (ADF-FAD) is proposed to help doctors make more accurate decisions, which is applied to the ADHD-200 dataset to confirm its effectiveness. The results indicate that the FBNs extracted by MAREM perform well in modeling and classification. After with MSLM, the model achieves accuracy of 92.4%, 74.4%, and 80% at NYU, PU, and KKI, respectively, demonstrating its ability to effectively capture crucial information related to ADHD diagnosis. RESUMO

The gyrus, a pivotal cortical folding pattern, is essential for integrating brain structure-function. This study focuses on 2-Hinge and 3-Hinge folds, characterized by the gyral convergence from various directions. Existing voxel-level studies may not adequately capture the precise spatial relationships within cortical folding patterns, especially when relying solely on local cortical characteristics due to their variable shapes and homogeneous frequency-specific features. To overcome these challenges, we introduced a novel model that combines spatial distribution, morphological structure, and functional magnetic resonance imaging data. We utilized spatio-morphological residual representations to enhance and extract subtle variations in cortical spatial distribution and morphological structure during blood oxygenation, integrating these with functional magnetic resonance imaging embeddings using self-attention for spatio-morphological-temporal representations. Testing these representations for identifying cortical folding patterns, including sulci, gyri, 2-Hinge, and 2-Hinge folds, and evaluating the impact of phenotypic data (e.g. stimulus) on recognition, our experimental results demonstrate the model's superior performance, revealing significant differences in cortical folding patterns under various stimulus. These differences are also evident in the characteristics of sulci and gyri folds between genders, with 3-Hinge showing more variations. Our findings indicate that our representations of cortical folding patterns could serve as biomarkers for understanding brain structure-function correlations.

RESUMO

Neural architecture search (NAS) has been introduced into the design of deep neural network architectures for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) reconstruction since NAS-based methods can acquire the complex network architecture automatically without professional designing experience and improve the model's generalization ability. However, current NAS-based MRI reconstruction methods suffer from a lack of efficient operators in the search space, which leads to challenges in effectively recovering high-frequency details. This limitation is primarily due to the prevalent use of convolution operators in the current search space, which struggle to capture both global and local features of MR images simultaneously, resulting in insufficient information utilization. To address this issue, a generative adversarial network (GAN) based model is proposed to reconstruct the MR image from under-sampled K-space data. Firstly, parameterized global and local feature learning modules at multiple scales are added into the search space to improve the capability of recovering high-frequency details. Secondly, to mitigate the increased search time caused by the augmented search space, a hierarchical NAS is designed to learn the global-local feature learning modules that enable the reconstruction network to learn global and local information of MR images at different scales adaptively. Thirdly, to reduce the number of network parameters and computational complexity, the standard operations in global-local feature learning modules are replaced with lightweight operations. Finally, experiments on several publicly available brain MRI image datasets evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Compared to the state-of-the-art MRI reconstruction methods, the proposed method yields better reconstruction results in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio and structural similarity at a lower computational cost. Additionally, our reconstruction results are validated through a brain tumor classification task, affirming the practicability of the proposed method. Our code is available at https://github.com/wwHwo/HNASMRI.

RESUMO

The Cortical 3-Hinges Folding Pattern (i.e., 3-Hinges) is one of the brain's hallmarks, and it is of great reference for predicting human intelligence, diagnosing eurological diseases and understanding the brain functional structure differences among gender. Given the significant morphological variability among individuals, it is challenging to identify 3-Hinges, but current 3-Hinges researches are mainly based on the computationally expensive Gyral-net method. To address this challenge, this paper aims to develop a deep network model to realize the fast identification of 3-Hinges based on cortical morphological and structural features. The main work includes: (1) The morphological and structural features of the cerebral cortex are extracted to relieve the imbalance between the number of 3-Hinges and each brain image's voxels; (2) The feature vector is constructed with the K nearest neighbor algorithm from the extracted scattered features of the morphological and structural features to alleviate over-fitting in training; (3) The squeeze excitation module combined with the deep U-shaped network structure is used to learn the correlation of the channels among the feature vectors; (4) The functional structure roles that 3-Hinges plays between adolescent males and females are discussed in this work. The experimental results on both adolescent and adult MRI datasets show that the proposed model achieves better performance in terms of time consumption. Moreover, this paper reveals that cortical sulcus information plays a critical role in the procedure of identification, and the cortical thickness, cortical surface area, and volume characteristics can supplement valuable information for 3-Hinges identification to some extent. Furthermore, there are significant structural differences on 3-Hinges among adolescent gender.

RESUMO

Deformable image registration is a fundamental procedure in medical imaging. Recently, deep learning-based deformable image registrations have achieved fast registration by learning the spatial correspondence from image pairs. However, it remains challenging in brain image registration due to the structural complexity of individual brains and the lack of ground truth for anatomical correspondences between the brain image pairs. This work devotes to achieving an end-to-end unsupervised brain deformable image registration method using the gyral-net map and 3D Res-Unet (BIRGU Net). Firstly, the gyral-net map was introduced to represent the 3D global cortex complex information of the brain image since it was considered as one of the anatomical landmarks, which can help to extract the salient structural feature of individual brains for registration. Secondly, the variant of 3D U-net architecture involving dual residual strategies was designed to map the image into the deformation field effectively and to prevent the gradient from vanishing as well. Finally, double regularized terms were imposed on the deformation field to guide the network training for leveraging the smoothness and the topology preservation of the deformation field. The registration procedure was trained in an unsupervised manner, which addressed the lack of ground truth for anatomical correspondences between the brain image pairs. The experimental results on four public data sets demonstrate that the extracted gyral-net can be an auxiliary feature for registration and the proposed network with the designed strategies can improve the registration performance since the Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) and normalized mutual information (NMI) are higher and the time consumption is comparable than the state-of-the-art. The code is available at https://github.com/mynameiswode/BIRGU-Net .

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to investigate the effects of comprehensive nursing intervention in interventional therapy for patients with liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. METHODS: Overall, 512 liver cirrhosis patients complicated with liver cancer receiving interventional therapy in the Department of Oncology of the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University (Dalian, China) from March 2010 to March 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into observation group (n=310) and control group (n=202). Comprehensive nursing intervention was applied to observation group and conventional nursing care was applied to control group. RESULTS: The degrees of satisfaction before and after nursing intervention, quality-of-life scores, incidences of postoperative complications and survival rates at 20 months after operation of the two groups were compared. The degree of great satisfaction in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.001). The quality-of-life scores of the patients in observation group were obviously higher than those in control group (P<0.001). The incidence of postoperative complications in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group (P<0.001). The survival rates in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (P=0.035). CONCLUSION: The application of comprehensive nursing intervention in the interventional therapy for liver cirrhosis and liver cancer can notably improve the life quality of the patients, lower the incidence of postoperative complications and increase the survival rate, which is worthy of clinical popularization and application.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The study is intended to fill the knowledge gap about the neuropsychology and neuromotor developmental outcomes, and identify the perinatal risk factors for late preterm infants (LPIs 34~36 weeks GA) born with uncomplicated vaginal birth at the age of 24 to 30 months. METHODS: The parents/guardians of 102 late preterm infants and 153 term infants, from 14 community health centers participated in this study. The Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT) questionnaire, the Chinese version of Gesell Development Diagnosis Scale (GDDS), and the Sensory Integration Schedule (SIS), a neurological examination for motor disorders (MD) were carried out. Infants screening positive to the M-CHAT were referred to specialist autism clinics. RESULTS: Forty-six LPIs (45.1%) scored low in GDDS. Nine LPIs (8.8%) scored positive on M-Chat. 8.8% of LPIs (9 out of 102) were diagnosed MD (p <  0.05). Compared with their full-term peers, LPIs had statistically lower scores in GDDS and the Child Sensory Integration Checklist. LPIs who had positive results on M-CHAT showed unbalanced abilities in every part of GDDS. Risk factors of twin pregnancies, pregnancy induced hypertension and premature rupture of membranes had negative correlation with GDDS (all p <  0.05). Birth weight and gestational age were positively correlated with GDDS. CONCLUSIONS: LPIs shall be given special attention as compared to normal deliveries, as they are at increased risk of neurodevelopment impairment, despite being born with no major problems. Some perinatal factors such as twin pregnancies, and pregnancy induced hypertension etc. have negative effects on their neurodevelopment. Regular neurodevelopmental follow- up and early intervention can benefit their long term outcomes.

RESUMO

Till now, miR-543 expression has been demonstrated to be involved in the development of some cancers. However, reports about its expression and mechanism in colorectal cancer (CRC) were conflicting [1, 2]. Here, we investigated clinical implications of miR-543 and mechanisms underlying miR-543-mediated CRC development. In this study, real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) validated miR-543 was highly expressed in CRC samples and cell lines. MiR-543 was closely associated with tumor size, TNM stage and metastasis. In addition, survival analysis showed that high miR-543 expression was obviously correlated with poor overall survival and disease-free survival. Mechanically, downregulation of miR-543 by miR-543 inhibitor obviously repressed cell proliferation, promoted apoptosis, affected migration and invasion. Moreover, luciferase reporter analysis identified that Krüppel-like Factor-4 (KLF4) was a direct target of miR-543, and there was an obvious inverse correlation between miR-543 and KLF4 expression in CRC tissues. Furthermore, KLF4 down-regulation favors miR-543-induced oncogenic effect on cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, and invasion. In conclusion, this study indicated that miR-543 facilitates colorectal cancer proliferation and metastasis by targeting KLF4, and miR-543 may serve as a promising target for the treatment of CRC patients.

RESUMO

Recent evidence shows that miRNAs are dysregulated in a variety of cancers including gastric cancer (GC), and emerging as key oncogenes or tumor suppressors. In this study, qRT-PCR was used to analyze the expression of miR-186 in GC tissues and adjacent non-cancerous tissues, and then more in-vitro experiments were used to investigate the role of miR-186 in GC cells. Here, we identified miR-186 was generally down-regulated in GC tissues; however, Twist1 was generally up-regulated in GC tissues. Moreover, miR-186 and Twist1 were associated with larger tumor size and advanced clinical stage of GC. In-vitro experiments demonstrated that ectopic overexpression of miR-186 inhibited GC cell proliferation, invasion and migration; however, inhibited expression of miR-186 enhanced cell proliferation, invasion and migration. Furthermore, the luciferase reporter assay demonstrated Twist1 as a direct target of miR-186. Finally, over-expression of Twist1 abrogated inhibitory impact of miR-186 on cell proliferation, invasion and migration. In conclusion, miR-186 affects the proliferation, invasion and migration of human gastric cancer by inhibition of Twist1, and could be a tumor suppressor in GC development. Thus, miR-186 may be served as a candidate prognostic biomarker and target for new therapies in human gastric cancer.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the major influence factors of child neglect among rural areas children aged 3-6 years in China. METHODS: According to multi-stage stratified cluster sampling, distribution characteristics and the level of economic development, we randomly sampled 10 provinces, 26 cities (8 capital cities, 16 prefecture-level cities and 2 municipalities) using lottery method. Depending on the different level of economic and cultural, we sampled one medium county from each city (municipalities sampled two counties), a total of 28 counties. All towns were divided into high, medium and low three levels in accordance with economic and cultural, each level sampled one town, each conty sampled three towns, a total of 84 towns were sampled. Each town sampled 40 children, including 20 boys and 20 girls (including each 10 children aged 3 to 6, half and half boys and girls). 4 096 rural children aged 3-6 years old were sampled and surveyed of China. Based on "the Neglect Norms for Children Aged 3 to 6 Years Old in Rural Areas of China" explored the risk factors of child neglect. SPSS 18. 0 for windows was employed for statistics analysis. Multifactorial analysis was conducted through multivariate Logistic Regression. RESULTS: The total neglected rate of the rural children aged 3 to 6 was 53.7% (2,047/3,810), and the total neglected degree was 44.42±7.57. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that, neglected risk of the boys was higher than the girls (OR=1.30, 95% CI: 1.13-1.49), neglected risk of children were higher, when their mothers were migrant workers (OR=2.18, 95% CI: 1.59-3.00); the lower educational level of mothers, the higher neglected risk of children, the children in families that mothers only received primary education or was uneducated were most likely to be neglected (OR=2.92, 95% CI: 1.91-4.47), the second was the families that mothers received primary education (OR=1.86, 95% CI: 1.29-2.69); the lower the household income, the easier to be neglected the children, the easiest one was the household income less than 5000 RMB (OR=2.85, 95% CI: 2.14-3.79), the second was 5000-9,999 RMB (OR=1.76, 95% CI: 1.40-2.20); the relationship between children and mothers was distanced, neglect risk of children was higher (OR=3.88, 95% CI: 1.31-11.52); left behind children were easier to be neglected (OR=1.30, 95% CI: 1.09-1.54). CONCLUSION: The influence factors among children aged 3-6 years in the rural areas of China were boys, mother's occupation, maternal education level, the relationship between children and mothers, household income and left-behind children.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: 2,3-Butanediol (2,3-BD) is a high-value chemical usually produced petrochemically but which can also be synthesized by some bacteria. To date, Klebsiella pneumoniae is the most powerful 2,3-BD producer which can utilize a wide range of substrates. However, many by-products are also produced by K. pneumoniae, such as ethanol, lactate, and acetate, which negatively regulate the 2,3-BD yield and increase the costs of downstream separation and purification. RESULTS: In this study, we constructed K. pneumoniae mutants with lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (ADH), and phosphotransacetylase (PTA) deletion individually by suicide vector conjugation. These mutants showed different behavior of production formation. Knock out of ldhA had little influence on the yield of 2,3-BD, whereas knock out of adhE or pta significantly improved the formation of 2,3-BD. The accumulation of the intermediate of 2,3-BD biosynthesis, acetoin, was decreased in all the mutants. The mutants were then tested in five different carbon sources and increased 2,3-BD was observed. Also a double mutant strain with deletion of adhE and ldhA was constructed which resulted in accelerated fermentation and higher 2,3-BD production. In fed-batch culture this strain achieved more than 100 g/L 2,3-BD from glucose with a relatively high yield of 0.49 g/g. CONCLUSION: 2,3-BD production was dramatically improved with the inactivation of adhE and pta. The inactivation of ldhA could advance faster cell growth and shorter fermentation time. The double mutant strain with deletion of adhE and ldhA resulted in accelerated fermentation and higher 2,3-BD production. These results provide new insights for industrial production of 2,3-BD by K. pneumoniae.

RESUMO

Mutants with overexpression of α-acetolactate synthase (ALS), α-acetolactate decarboxylase, and acetoin reductase (AR), either individually or in combination, were constructed to improve 2,3-butanediol (2,3-BD) production in Klebsiella pneumoniae. The recombinant strains were characterized in terms of the enzyme activity, 2,3-BD yield, and expression levels. The recombinant K. pneumoniae strain (KG-rs) that overexpressed both ALS and AR showed an improved 2,3-BD yield. When cultured in the media with five different carbon sources (glucose, galactose, fructose, sucrose, and lactose), the mutant exhibited higher 2,3-BD productivity and production than the parental strain in all the tested carbon sources except for lactose. The 2,3-BD production of KG-rs in a batch fermentation with glucose as the carbon source was 12% higher than that of the parental strain.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To develop the national neglect norms for urban primary school students in China. METHODS: According to multi-stage stratified cluster sampling principle, 24 cities of 13 provinces (municipalities) in China were selected during December 1 to 31, 2008. A total of 1491 students in grade 1 - 3 and 2236 students in grade 4 - 6 were selected. Questionnaire was designed by authors and the final norms were determined through several statistical analysis methods, such as item analysis method, factor analysis method, reliability analysis method. The reliability analysis and validity analysis were used to test the stability and reliability of the norms. The evaluation criteria of the scale was determined by the percentile method, then the initial development of the norm was completed. RESULTS: The two questionnaires of grade 1 - 3 and grade 4 - 6 students consisted of 55 and 57 items, respectively, whose item loadings were ranged from 0.301 to 0.687 and 0.321 to 0.730, which met the statistical requirements. For grade 1 - 3 students, the scale's total Cronbach α coefficients was 0.914, the total split-half reliability coefficients was 0.896, the Cronbach α coefficients of four level was above 0.737 except medical and social neglect, split-half reliability was ranged from 0.461 to 0.757; for grade 4-6 students, the scale's total Cronbach α coefficients was 0.916, split-half reliability was 0.883, except social neglect, the Cronbach α coefficients of other level was ranged 0.457 to 0.856, split-half reliability was ranged from 0.500 to 0.798. The total neglect cut-off score of the two scales grade 1-3 and 4-6 were 125 and 155, respectively. CONCLUSION: The structure of two norms was reasonable. The scales have good stability and reliability.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate and analyze the situation of urban and rural neglected children aged 3 - 6, in China, so as to provide basis for the analysis and comparison on relevant risk factors. METHODS: 1163 urban children aged 3 - 6 (with 49.6% males and 4.5% with minority ethnicity) were investigated from 25 cities of 14 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the whole country. Multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used. Again, using the same sampling method, 4096 rural children (of whom 50.6% were males with 6.2% as minorities) were chosen from 26 cities of 10 provinces or municipalities. Identification of children being neglected was based on "Child Neglect Evaluation Norms of Children Aged 3 - 6 Years in Urban/Rural China". SPSS-Windows 13.0 was employed for data analysis. Scores, frequency/degrees, age, sex and types (physical, emotional, educational, safety, medical and social) of children under negligence on every group of the regions, were calculated. χ(2) test (Chi-Square) and Analysis of variance (ANOVA) were processed to determine the significance of their differences. RESULTS: The overall frequencies of negligence were 28.0% and 53.7% respectively among the urban and rural children aged 3 - 6, while the total degrees of negligence were 42.2 and 44.4 respectively. Significant difference was found between children from the urban and the rural areas (P < 0.05). Significant difference was also found between urban and rural children on every age group (P < 0.05). The frequencies of negligence among males were 32.6% and 55.9% respectively in urban and rural areas while among females, the figures appeared to be 23.7% and 51.6% respectively. The degrees of negligence were 42.7 and 44.6 among male while 41.8 and 44.3 among female children, in the urban or rural areas. Significant differences were found on male or female between urban and rural groups (P < 0.05). Frequencies of negligence in urban children aged 3 - 6 for the six types were from 5.1% to 12.9%, with the frequency in rural areas as 13.1% - 26.6%. Significant difference was found between urban and rural group for any other type (P < 0.05), in addition to the safety type. The degrees of negligence in urban children aged 3 - 6 for the different type were between 39.4 and 43.4, while in the rural areas as from 36.5 to 48.2, with significant difference for every type (P < 0.05). The degrees of negligence related to education, emotion, or physical strength were more serious on children from the urban than from the rural areas. The highest frequency of child negligence was seen in the single-parent families on both urban and rural groups (42.9% and 60.0% respectively), with no significant difference found (P > 0.05). The urban and rural children aged 3 - 6 were mainly involved in single item of negligence, with incidence rates as 16.5% and 22.7% and proportions as 58.9% and 45.1% respectively, despite the factors as age or sex. CONCLUSION: There were large differences on the situation of negligence between the urban and rural children aged 3 - 6. The frequencies and degrees of negligence in every age group and different sex for children living in the rural areas were higher than those urban children. The frequency of negligence among boys was higher than girls for both urban and rural areas. The rural children had suffered more serious negligence than the urban children at any other type, in addition to the 'safety'. Both urban and rural children had the highest frequency of negligence in single-parent family, and were mainly suffered from single item of negligence.

To identify the child neglect based on the Neglect Norms for Children Aged 0 to 2 and 3 to 6 Years Old in Rural Areas of China, SPSS 13.0 was employed for analyzing neglect frequency and degree for every group of different age, sex and neglect type (including physical, emotional, educational, medical, safety and social neglects). χ(2) test and analysis of variance were also used. RESULTS: The degree of child neglect for the children aged 0 - 2 years old was 45.01 ± 7.56, the neglect frequency was 54.9% (1819/3315); the degree of child neglect for the children aged 3 - 6 years old was 44.42 ± 7.57, the neglect frequency was 53.8% (2203/4096). The neglect frequency of children aged 0, 1, 2 years old were 58.5% (654/1117), 52.2% (597/1144), 53.9% (568/1054) (P < 0.05). For children aged 3 - 6 years old, the degrees of emotional and safety neglect for males (44.60 ± 7.86, 36.82 ± 9.03) were higher than females (44.03 ± 7.72, 36.25 ± 9.05) (P < 0.05); and the frequencies of emotional and social neglect for males (16.8% (349/2072), 28.3% (586/2072)) were also higher than females (14.1% (286/2024), 24.8% (503/2024)) (P < 0.05). All children of two age groups suffered neglect mainly on one of the six neglect types (incidences were 20.6% (683/3315) and 22.7% (931/4096)). For 0-2 age groups, the higher neglect frequencies happened in the single-parent family and the remarried family (62.5% (15/24) and 63.2% (12/19)), but for children aged 3 - 6 years old groups, it happened in the single-parent family (60.0%, 27/45). CONCLUSION: Degree and frequency of child neglect among children aged 0 to 6 years old in the rural areas of China are high, and we should find out risk factors and provide efficient prevention measures.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the status of child neglect among urban areas children and adolescents aged 3 - 17 years in China. METHODS: Using multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method, 8001 children and adolescents were recruited from 30 cities of 14 provinces in December 2008. The investigation was carried based on The 3 - 6 years old children Neglect Norms of city in China and The 6 - 17 years old children Neglect Norms of city in China. SPSS 13.0 was employed for analyzing neglect rate and degree for group of areas, age, sex and neglect type (including neglect of physical, emotional, educational, medical, safety and social). RESULTS: The degrees of child neglect for urban children aged 3 - 6 (children aged 6 were not in school), 6 - 8 (children aged 6 were school children), 9 - 11, 12 - 14 and 15 - 17 were 42.2 ± 6.9, 42.8 ± 8.4, 42.1 ± 9.1, 46.4 ± 9.2 and 49.7 ± 8.4(P < 0.05), the neglect rates were 28.0% (326/1163), 28.8% (431/1496), 27.2% (543/1962), 22.4% (373/1664) and 32.8% (563/1716) (P < 0.05), respectively. There were differences in six neglect types for each group; the neglect degrees and rates were high in the group aged 12 - 14 and 15 - 17 (46.4 ± 9.2 and 49.1 ± 8.4, 22.4% (373/1664) and 32.8% (563/1716), respectively); for each neglect type, the neglect degree of children aged 15 - 17 were highest (52.8 ± 8.0, 47.3 ± 11.6, 49.5 ± 10.8, 42.4 ± 10.3, 52.2 ± 16.0, 56.0 ± 10.1). The degree and rate of neglect in West were highest, Middle was next, the East was lowest (the neglect degrees were 45.4 ± 9.1, 45.0 ± 9.3 and 44.0 ± 8.8, P < 0.05;the rates were 30.7% (1340/4361), 25.0% (756/3024) and 21.2% (131/616), P < 0.05). Degree and rate of child neglect for children without siblings were lower than children with siblings (the neglect degrees were 44.2 ± 9.0 and 47.6 ± 9.1, P < 0.01; the rates were 26.1% (1572/6017) and 33.0% (655/1984), P < 0.01). Neglect degree of school children aged 6 years old (43.1 ± 7.3) was higher than children not in school (40.7 ± 7.8) (P < 0.01), but neglect rate was lower (the rates were 35.4% (60/169) and 21.3% (84/394), P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Neglect degree and rate of urban children and adolescents aged 3 - 17 years in China were both high, and neglect deserved more attentions.

RESUMO

Amphotericin B (AmB)/poly(lactic acid)-b-poly(ethylene glycol) (PLA-b-PEG) nanoparticles coated with polysorbate 80 (Tween-80) were prepared by nanoprecipitation for transport across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). The effects of Tween-80 on the size and distribution, entrapment efficiency and release behavior of AmB/PLA-b-PEG nanoparticles were investigated. Furthermore, the brain targeting and curative effect of coated nanoparticles were also investigated. The entrapment efficiency was significantly enhanced when nanoparticles were coated with Tween-80. The prepared nanoparticles were spherical with homogeneous distribution. Drug concentration in mice brain was greatly enhanced, which indicated that the coated nanoparticles could get across the BBB. Meanwhile, the AmB/PLA-b-PEG nanoparticles are able to reduce the toxicity of AmB to liver, kidney and blood system with improved therapeutic effect.
