RESUMO

The oxidation behavior of body-centered cubic (bcc) structure Cr20Mn17Fe18Ta23W22 refractory high-entropy alloy (RHEA) and the microdefects induced by hydrogen ions before and after oxidation were investigated. The results revealed that compared with oxidizing Cr20Mn17Fe18Ta23W22 at 800 °C (6.7 °C/min) for 4 h (ST3, Ar:O2 = 3:1), the heating procedure of oxidizing Cr20Mn17Fe18Ta23W22 at 300 °C (6 °C/min) for 2 h and then increased to 800 °C (5 °C/min) for 4 h is more conducive to the production of oxides without spalling on the surface, i.e., HT1 (Ar:O2 = 1:1), HT2 (Ar:O2 = 2:1) and HT3 (Ar:O2 = 3:1) samples. The oxidation of Cr20Mn17Fe18Ta23W22 RHEA is mainly controlled by the diffusion of cations instead of affinities with O. Additionally, HT1 and HT3 samples irradiated with a fluence of 3.9 × 1022 cm-2 hydrogen ions (60 eV) were found to have a better hydrogen irradiation resistance than Cr20Mn17Fe18Ta23W22 RHEA. The microdefects in irradiated Cr20Mn17Fe18Ta23W22 mainly existed as hydrogen bubbles, hydrogen-vacancy (H-V) complexes and vacancy/vacancy clusters. The microdefects in irradiated HT3 were mainly vacancies and H-V complexes, while the microdefects in irradiated HT1 mainly existed as vacancies and vacancy clusters, as large amounts of hydrogen were consumed to react with oxides on the HT1 surface. The oxides on the surface of the HT3 sample were more stable than those on HT1 under hydrogen irradiation.

RESUMO

The electrochemical N2 fixation, which is far from practical application in aqueous solution under ambient conditions, is extremely challenging and requires a rational design of electrocatalytic centers. We observed that bismuth (Bi) might be a promising candidate for this task because of its weak binding with H adatoms, which increases the selectivity and production rate. Furthermore, we successfully synthesized defect-rich Bi nanoplates as an efficient noble-metal-free N2 reduction electrocatalyst via a low-temperature plasma bombardment approach. When exclusively using 1 H NMR measurements with N2 gas as a quantitative testing method, the defect-rich Bi(110) nanoplates achieved a 15 NH3 production rate of 5.453 µg mgBi -1 h-1 and a Faradaic efficiency of 11.68 % at -0.6 V vs. RHE in aqueous solution at ambient conditions.

RESUMO

Li3V2(PO4)3/C (LVP/C) composites have been modified by different ways of Zr-incorporation via ultrasonic-assisted solid-state reaction. The difference in the effect on the physicochemical properties and the electrochemical performance of LVP between Zr-doping and ZrO2-coating has also been investigated. Compared with pristine LVP/C, Zr-incorporated LVP/C composites exhibit better rate capability and cycling stability. In particular, the LVP/C-Zr electrode delivers the highest initial capacity of 150.4 mA h g-1 at 10C with a capacity retention ratio of 88.4% after 100 cycles. The enhanced electrochemical performance of Zr-incorporated LVP/C samples (LVZrP/C and LVP/C-Zr) is attributed to the increased ionic conductivity and electronic conductivity, the improved stability of the LVP structure, and the decreased charge-transfer resistance.

RESUMO

Cadmium-incorporated Li2FeSiO4/C composites have been successfully synthesized by a solid-state reaction assisted with refluxing. The effect and mechanism of Cd-modification on the electrochemical performance of Li2FeSiO4/C were investigated in detail by X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectra, transmission electron microscopy, positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy and Doppler broadening spectrum, and electrochemical measurements. The results show that Cd not only exists in an amorphous state of CdO on the surface of LFS particles, but also enters into the crystal lattice of LFS. Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy and Doppler broadening spectrum analyses verify that Cd-incorporation increases the defect concentration and the electronic conductivity of LFS, thus improve the Li(+)-ion diffusion process. Furthermore, our electrochemical measurements verify that an appropriate amount of Cd-incorporation can achieve a satisfied electrochemical performance for LFS/C cathode material.
