With use, dental instruments deteriorate and lose their edge or cut, for which reason they must be sharpened with the proper stones and the correct technique to keep them in good condition and according to their original design. In this paper, we will update this subject (AU)

[Influence of patient's personal characteristics on anxiety level, oral hygiene, pain intensity at infiltrative anesthesia puncture and time of professional care]. / Influencia del aspecto personal del paciente en su nivel de ansiedad, higiene oral, intensidad del dolor a la punción en la anestesia infiltrativa y tiempo de intervención del profesional.

A total of 76 dental patients (46 women and 30 men) were surveyed in order to investigate the relationships of dental anxiety with another indexes. Patient's appearance had significant influence (P less than 0.05) on dental anxiety, oral hygiene, pain intensity to local anesthesia infiltrate and on efficiency of routine dental procedures.

Pain, facial swelling and trismus evolution after removal of impacted lower third molar were studied in 34 patients obtained from a random sample. A significantly longer length of surgery and facial swelling were observed at 24 hours postoperatively patients with a high anxiety level.
