RESUMO

Gas chromatography-ion mobility spectroscopy (GC-IMS) was used to analyze the volatile components in dried Hypsizygus marmoreus of different drying methods, including hot air drying (HAD), heat pump drying (HPD), heated freeze-drying (HFD), and unheated freeze-drying (UFD). A total of 116 signal peaks corresponding to 96 volatile compounds were identified, including 25 esters, 24 aldehydes, 23 alcohols, 13 ketones, 10 heterocyclic compounds, 8 carboxylic acids, 7 terpenes, 3 sulfur-containing compounds, 2 nitrogen-containing compounds, and 1 aromatic hydrocarbon. The total content of volatile compounds in H. marmoreus dried by the four methods, from highest to lowest, was as follows: HAD, HPD, HFD, and UFD. The main volatile compounds included carboxylic acids, alcohols, esters, and aldehydes. Comparing the peak intensities of volatile compounds in dried H. marmoreus using different drying methods, it was found that the synthesis of esters, aldehydes, and terpenes increased under hot drying methods such as HAD and HPD, while the synthesis of compounds containing sulfur and nitrogen increased under freeze-drying methods such as HFD and UFD. Nine common key characteristic flavor compounds of dried H. marmoreus were screened using relative odor activity values (ROAV > 1), including ethyl 3-methylbutanoate, acetic acid, 2-methylbutanal, propanal, methyl 2-propenyl sulfate, trimethylamine, 3-octanone, acetaldehide, and thiophene. In the odor description of volatile compounds with ROAV > 0.1, it was found that important flavor components such as trimethylamine, 3-octanone, (E)-2-octenal, and dimethyl disulfide are related to the aroma of seafood. Their ROAV order is HFD > UFD > HPD > HAD, indicating that H. marmoreus using the HFD method have the strongest seafood flavor. The research findings provide theoretical guidance for selecting drying methods and refining the processing of H. marmoreus.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare, potentially life-threatening skin disease often requiring long-term therapy. We aimed to evaluate the use of Interleukin (IL)-17A inhibitors (secukinumab and ixekizumab) in GPP patients over 96 weeks. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed a case series of 18 patients with GPP who received secukinumab (n = 13) and ixekizumab (n = 5) therapy with a 96-week follow-up period. The primary effectiveness analysis included determining the percentage of patients who achieved ≥90% or 100% improvement in the Generalized Pustular Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (GPPASI) score. Adherence was captured using the medication possession ratio (MPR). RESULTS: Using the as-observed (AO) method, 87% and 67% of patients treated with secukinumab or ixekizumab achieved GPPASI 90 and 100 responses, respectively. At Week 96, the mean GPPASI improvements from baseline GPPASI were 96.3% (95% CI: 0.91-1.01) using the AO method. After Week 48, 14 patients tapered (n = 8) or terminated (n = 6) the treatment. High-adherence therapy (MPR ≥ 80%) was significantly superior to the low-adherence group in the rate of patients achieving a GPPASI 100 response (AO, 100% vs. 38%, P < 0.05). By Week 96, 5 (27.8%) patients had new GPP flares, and 4 (80%) were in the low-adherence group. No new safety signals occurred. CONCLUSION: IL-17A inhibitors led to effective and sustained improvement in GPP patients, and high-adherence therapy had long-term positive effects on skin clearance. Given its relapsing nature, improving compliance is beneficial for long-term clinical management.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The mortality rate of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) is still high even while undergoing decompressive craniectomy (DC), and the expensive treatment costs bring huge economic burden to the families of patients. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to identify preoperative indicators that influence patient outcomes and to develop a risk model for predicting patient mortality by a retrospective analysis of TBI patients undergoing DC. METHODS: A total of 288 TBI patients treated with DC, admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical School from August 2015 to April 2021, were used for univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis to determine the risk factors for death after DC in TBI patients. We also built a risk model for the identified risk factors and conducted internal verification and model evaluation. RESULTS: Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis identified four risk factors: Glasgow Coma Scale, age, activated partial thrombin time, and mean CT value of the superior sagittal sinus. These risk factors can be obtained before DC. In addition, we also developed a 3-month mortality risk model and conducted a bootstrap 1000 resampling internal validation, with C-indices of 0.852 and 0.845, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: We developed a risk model that has clinical significance for the early identification of patients who will still die after DC. Interestingly, we also identified a new early risk factor for TBI patients after DC, that is, preoperative mean CT value of the superior sagittal sinus (p < .05).

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: As one of the most effective biologic treatments for psoriasis, the short-term effectiveness of ustekinumab has yet to be studied extensively. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the short-term effectiveness and potential factors within four weeks after the first-dose ustekinumab treatment based on real-world data. METHODS: The study enrolled 98 patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis, given ustekinumab 45 mg at week 0, week 4, and then every 12 weeks. Based on clinical data collected at baseline and week 4, we investigated the short-term effectiveness of ustekinumab after the first dose and potential factors associated with the treatment. For evaluation, we collected demographic information, body data, medical history, laboratory examination results, Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), body surface area (BSA), and dermatology life quality index (DLQI). Response rates were calculated based on the number of patients that achieved a 75/90/100% reduction in PASI (PASI 75/90/100), and the primary treatment goal was to achieve PASI 75. RESULTS: The response rates for PASI 75/90/100 at week 4 were 30.5%, 18.9%, and 16.8%, respectively. For PASI 75, the response rate was higher in patients without metabolic syndrome (MS) (without MS vs. with MS: 36.9% vs. 5.9%, p = 0.013); the serum triglyceride (TG) level was significantly lower in patients achieving PASI 75 (expressed as mean ± standard deviation, achieved vs. unachieved: 1.82 ± 1.79 vs. 3.59 ± 8.89, p = 0.010). For PASI 100, the response rates were higher in female patients (female vs. male: 26.3% vs. 10.5%, p = 0.044) and patients with a family history of psoriasis (with family history vs. without family history: 44.4% vs. 13.9%, p = 0.042). In addition, the possibility of achieving PASI 75/90/100 went up along with the serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) level (expressed as adjusted odds ratio < 95% confidence interval>: PASI 75: 28.484 < 2.035-248.419>, p = 0.011; PASI 90: 28.226 < 2.828-281.729>, p = 0.004; PASI 100: 12.175 < 1.876-79.028>, p = 0.009). CONCLUSION: In this study, nearly one-third of patients achieved PASI 75 after only the first-dose ustekinumab treatment. Sex, family history of psoriasis, MS, serum TG level might affect the short-term effectiveness, and serum HDL-C level may be a potential factor. The possibility of achieving treatment goals (PASI 75/90/100) at week 4 increased along with serum HDL-C levels.

RESUMO

Freshly harvested Tremella fuciformis contains high water content with an unprotected outer surface and exhibits high respiration rates, which renders it prone to moisture and nutrient loss, leading to decay during storage. Our research utilized ε-poly-L-lysine (ε-PL) and chitosan as a composite coating preservative on fresh T. fuciformis. The findings revealed that the ε-PL + chitosan composite coating preservative effectively delayed the development of diseases and reduced weight loss during storage compared to the control group. Furthermore, this treatment significantly decreased the respiration rate of T. fuciformis and the activity of respiratory metabolism-related enzymes, such as alternative oxidase (AOX), cytochrome c oxidase (CCO), succinic dehydrogenase (SDH), 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (6-PGDH and G-6-PDH). Additionally, the composite coating preservative also delayed the depletion of ATP and ADP and maintained higher levels of the energy charge while preserving low levels of AMP. It also sustained heightened activities of Mg2+-ATPase, Ca2+-ATPase, and H+-ATPase enzymes. These results demonstrate that utilizing the ε-PL + chitosan composite coating preservative can serve as a sufficiently safe and efficient method for prolonging the shelf life of post-harvest fresh T. fuciformis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To determine the minimal important change (MIC) and meaningful change value (MCV) of the Disease Activity Index for Psoriatic Arthritis (DAPSA) and the effect size (ES) of DAPSA. METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study, recruiting 106 patients who agreed to participate in the research from the Department of Dermatology, Xiangya Hospital, between November 1, 2019, and April 1, 2023. An anchor-based method using linear regression analyses was used to determine the MICs and MCVs of the DAPSA. The anchor question assessed whether the patient's well-being had changed since their previous visit, employing a 5-point Likert scale that ranged from "much improved" to "much deteriorated." RESULTS: The overall MIC value was 8.4 (95% CI 0.01-16.75). The MIC improvement was 9.5 (95% CI 0.89-18.14) and MIC deterioration was 1.1 (95% CI -9.81 to 12.05). The overall MCV was 10.5 (95% CI 4.34-16.72). MCV improvement was 11.4 (95% CI 5.95-16.95) and MCV deterioration was 1.1 (95% CI -9.81 to 12.05). The ES was 0.6. CONCLUSION: A change in DAPSA of 8.4 is indicative of an MIC, offering physicians an additional means to contextualize the patient's perception of disease activity during treatment, and a change in DAPSA of 10.5 is likely to be regarded as MCV. These values can enhance the utility of DAPSA in psoriatic arthritis clinical trials.

RESUMO

Psoriasis is an immune-mediated inflammatory disease commonly accompanied by various metabolic disorders. It is widely known that biologics could affect the metabolic status and comorbidities in psoriasis patients, however, the effects of biologics on metabolism in psoriasis patients remain poorly understood. The aim of this study was to elucidate the characteristic changes of metabolic profiling in psoriasis vulgaris (PsV) patients before and after applying biologics. Plasma samples were collected from a retrospective cohort of 43 PsV patients. Non-targeted metabolomics analyses were performed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to compare the metabolic profiles before and after applying adalimumab (ADA) or ixekizumab (IXE) for 4 weeks. Additionally, correlation analyses were conducted to investigate the associations between metabolite expression levels and clinical characteristics. The biologics significantly affected the metabolic profiles of PsV patients especially in glycerophospholipids (GPs). First, phosphatidylcholine (PC), unsaturated lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), unsaturated lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and unsaturated lysophosphatidylethanolamine (LPE) were significantly up-regulated, whereas phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), saturated LPC, saturated LPA and saturated LPE were predominantly down-regulated after biologic treatment. What is more, the changes in PE and LPA were mainly observed after applying IXE instead of ADA. Second, we also found GPs including PC, unsaturated LPC, unsaturated LPA and unsaturated LPE were primarily negatively correlated with disease severity, whereas, PE, saturated LPC, saturated LPA and saturated LPE displayed inverse correlations. Biologics could affect GP metabolism and facilitate the transition of metabolic status from a pro-inflammatory to an anti-inflammatory phenotype in PsV patients.

RESUMO

Sodium-ion hybrid capacitors (SIHCs) have attracted much attention due to integrating the high energy density of battery and high out power of supercapacitors. However, rapid Na+ diffusion kinetics in cathode is counterbalanced with sluggish anode, hindering the further advancement and commercialization of SIHCs. Here, aiming at conversion-type metal sulfide anode, taking typical VS2 as an example, a comprehensive regulation of nanostructure and electronic properties through NH4 + pre-intercalation and Mo-doping VS2 (Mo-NVS2 ) is reported. It is demonstrated that NH4 + pre-intercalation can enlarge the interplanar spacing and Mo-doping can induce interlayer defects and sulfur vacancies that are favorable to construct new ion transport channels, thus resulting in significantly enhanced Na+ diffusion kinetics and pseudocapacitance. Density functional theory calculations further reveal that the introduction of NH4 + and Mo-doping enhances the electronic conductivity, lowers the diffusion energy barrier of Na+ , and produces stronger d-p hybridization to promote conversion kinetics of Na+ intercalation intermediates. Consequently, Mo-NVS2 delivers a record-high reversible capacity of 453 mAh g-1 at 3 A g-1 and an ultra-stable cycle life of over 20 000 cycles. The assembled SIHCs achieve impressive energy density/power density of 98 Wh kg-1 /11.84 kW kg-1 , ultralong cycling life of over 15000 cycles, and very low self-discharge rate (0.84 mV h-1 ).

RESUMO

De novo encapsulation is a prevalent method to prepare composite materials where the structure-tunable metal nanoparticles (NPs) are holistically coated with metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). This method has been demonstrated to have promise in various fields but the extensive application of this approach is still challenging. This study proposed, for the first time, leveraging a specific surface-energy-dominated (SED) mechanism to achieve a highly efficient synthetic strategy for de novo NP encapsulation. The generality of this strategy is proved in applying to various MOFs, reaction conditions and the use of capping agents. By applying the strategy, Pd NPs with different morphologies are encapsulated in UiO-67, which is prone to self-assembly without coating, and an interesting enhancement is investigated in the selective semihydrogenation of alkynes on different Pd surfaces. These results demonstrate that the control of surface energy is a feasible method for efficient NP encapsulation which sheds light on the rational design of MOF-based composites for future applications.

RESUMO

The physical properties and nutritional quality of H. marmoreus by-products (HMB) dried by different methods were comprehensively evaluated by a rigorous statistical method of grey correlation analysis. The results indicated that different drying methods had significant impacts on the characteristics of HMB. Heat pump drying (HPD) was conducive to the preservation of protein and reducing sugar, and hot air drying (HAD) maintained a high content of total flavonoids. The highest fat, polysaccharide, and total phenolic contents were obtained by heated vacuum freeze-drying (H-VFD) treatment. The unheated vacuum freeze-drying (UH-VFD) treatment achieved bright colour, lacunose texture profile, and looser organization structure. The grey correlation analysis showed that UH-VFD and H-VFD had higher-weighted correlation degrees than HPD and HAD. HMB had many higher nutritional components than commodity specifications, especially protein, fat, polyphenols, and amino acids, and had potential applications in the food industry as functional foods and nutraceutical agents.

RESUMO

Rational delineation of ecological functional areas and clarification of their driving factors are of significance for maintaining regional ecosystem stability. We assessed six ecosystem services of Sihu Lake Basin located in Jianghan Plain using InVEST and RUSLE models and recreational scoring methods. By using K-means clustering, we identified the ecosystem service bundles, and delineated the ecological functional areas in combination with ecological sensitivity and ecosystem service bundles. The dominant driving factors of different ecological functional areas were analyzed by Geodetector. The results showed that the spatial distributions of habitat quality and carbon sequestration services were similar, with high values being mainly concentrated in Changhu Lake Basin and Honghu Lake Basin. However, the spatial distributions of crop production and soil conservation services were different, with high-value areas concentrated in the northwest area with mountains. The high values of water production service were mainly concentrated in the eastern part of Honghu Lake Basin, while the high-value areas of ecological recreation service were mainly concentrated in the northwest area and the southern part of Honghu Lake Basin. The Sihu Lake Basin could be classified into crop production bundle, habitat quality bundle, and urban living bundle according to cluster analysis. The low ecological sensitivity areas accounted for 59.0% of the Sihu Lake Basin. We classified the study area into ecological restoration areas, ecological conservation areas, ecological transition areas, ecological development areas, and comprehensive use areas by combination of ecological sensitivity and ecosystem service bundles. The geodetector results indicated that the driving factors of each ecological function zone were significantly different. The natural factors significantly influenced the ecological restoration zone, while the normalized vegetation index and population density were the main influencing factors in the ecological conservation zone and the ecological development zone, respectively. Land use type was the main influencing factor in the ecological transition zone and the comprehensive use zone. The results could provide important support for coordinated regional social development and environmental protection.

RESUMO

Progressive crossed hemiatrophy is an extremely rare clinical type of facial hemiatrophy that presents primarily as unilateral facial atrophy and contralateral trunk or limb involvement. The undistinguishable clinical manifestation and pathological changes complicate diagnosis, especially at the onset of the disease when presenting with less clinical evidence. Here, we report a case of a 9-year-old boy started with left scalp induration, following with subcutaneous tissues atrophy on the right trunk. He was mistaken as panniculitis based on the pathologic findings and treated with topical tacrolimus without any improvement. Immune-related tests were implemented to exclude connective tissues. Imaging examinations such as magnetic resonance was conducted to evaluate the range and degree of the involvement of the skin, soft tissue, and cranial changes. Although no effective treatment to hold back the progress has been reported so far, surgeries might work to restore the appearance to some extent or improve central nerves symptoms if they exist.

RESUMO

Purpose: Psoriasis patients often suffers from anxiety and depression. Inflammation, anxiety, and depression have been associated with each other, but the relationship has not been examined in subjects with psoriasis. The primary objective was to investigate the relationship between the C-reactive protein (CRP) and the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and depression among patients with psoriasis. Methods: In this case-control, cross-sectional study, 239 individuals with psoriasis and 142 with healthy controls (HCs) were recruited. Psychological as well as clinical, and laboratory data were collected. Results: 50.2% of subjects with psoriasis reported depressive symptoms, compared with 26.8% of HCs. 39.7% and 17.6% observed anxiety symptoms in psoriasis patients and HCs. The odds of anxiety (AOR= 3.123; 95% CI = 1.851-5.269) and depression (AOR= 2.698; 95% CI = 1.690-4.306) were higher in psoriasis patients relative to HCs. Furthermore, the elevated CRP (AOR =2.139; 95% CI = 1.249-3.663) and ESR (AOR =1.827; 95% CI = 1.078-3.096) were the risk factors of depression in patients with psoriasis. The threshold for distinguish psoriasis patients in depression was 3.24 (area under the curve [AUC], 0.605; sensitivity, 0.57; specificity, 0.64) for CRP and 26.5 (AUC, 0.632; sensitivity, 0.52; specificity, 0.73) for ESR. Conclusion: A substantial prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms was observed in Chinese psoriasis subjects, and the odds were much higher in psoriasis patients relative to HCs. The elevated CRP and ESR level was significantly associated with depression in psoriasis patients. Besides, the discrimination capability of CPR and ESR on depression further indicates the extra value of inflammatory biomarkers in the management of psoriasis patients.

RESUMO

To improve the color conversion performance, we study the nanoscale-cavity effects on the emission efficiency of a colloidal quantum dot (QD) and the Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) from quantum well (QW) into QD in a GaN porous structure (PS). For this study, we insert green-emitting QD (GQD) and red-emitting QD (RQD) into the fabricated PSs in a GaN template and a blue-emitting QW template, and investigate the behaviors of the photoluminescence (PL) decay times and the intensity ratios of blue, green, and red lights. In the PS samples fabricated on the GaN template, we observe the efficiency enhancements of QD emission and the FRET from GQD into RQD, when compared with the samples of surface QDs, which is attributed to the nanoscale-cavity effect. In the PS samples fabricated on the QW template, the FRET from QW into QD is also enhanced. The enhanced FRET and QD emission efficiencies in a PS result in an improved color conversion performance. Because of the anisotropic PS in the sample surface plane, the polarization dependencies of QD emission and FRET are observed.

RESUMO

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is associated with psoriasis, featured by its irreversible joint symptoms. Despite the significant impact on the healthcare system, it is still challenging to leverage machine learning or statistical models to predict PsA and its progression, or analyze drug efficacy. With 3961 patients' clinical records, we developed a machine learning model for PsA diagnosis and analysis of PsA progression risk, respectively. Furthermore, general additive models (GAMs) and the Kaplan-Meier (KM) method were applied to analyze the efficacy of various drugs on psoriasis treatment and inhibiting PsA progression. The independent experiment on the PsA prediction model demonstrates outstanding prediction performance with an AUC score of 0.87 and an AUPR score of 0.89, and the Jackknife validation test on the PsA progression prediction model also suggests the superior performance with an AUC score of 0.80 and an AUPR score of 0.83, respectively. We also identified that interleukin-17 inhibitors were the more effective drug for severe psoriasis compared to other drugs, and methotrexate had a lower effect in inhibiting PsA progression. The results demonstrate that machine learning and statistical approaches enable accurate early prediction of PsA and its progression, and analysis of drug efficacy.

RESUMO

Background: The Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) and the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) are important evaluation tools for assessing psoriasis severity and guiding treatment options. However, the scores of PASI and DLQI are often inconsistent. Objective: This study aimed to identify the factors affecting the consistency between PASI and DLQI. Methods: The retrospective study was based on 4125 patients. We collected the PASI, DLQI, demographic and clinical characteristics data. Results: DLQI has a weak correlation with PASI (r=0.37; P<0.001). For the DLQI >10 groups, DLQI has almost no correlation with PASI (r=0.16; P<0.001). There are 43.60% of mild-to-moderate patients (PASI<10) in the DLQI>10 groups. Our adjusted model showed that foot (OR=2.109; 95% CI:1.581-2.815) involvement led to the greatest impairment of QoL except for PASI≥10 (OR=5.547; 95% CI:3.477-8.845). Furthermore, DLQI impairment was associated with female (OR=1.336; 95% CI:1.071-1.667); the age of 20-39 subgroup (OR=1.795; 95% CI:1.100-2.930); psoriatic arthritis (OR=1.718; 95% CI:1.208-2.443); higher income (OR = 1.408; 95% CI: 1.067-1.858); family history of psoriasis (OR=1.460; 95% CI:1.131-1.885). Moreover, the influence of exposed lesions (such as scalp; face; neck; nails; and hands) were positively associated with severely impaired QoL. Conclusion: Dermatologists should recognize the underestimated disease burden of psoriasis patients and actively identify and treat mild-to-moderate patients with high burden. In particular, the foot was a significant contributor to the burden.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Real-life studies evaluating the long-term efficacy of guselkumab in moderate-to-severe psoriasis in China are limited and not available. METHODS: In this real-life study, we retrospectively examined a total of 27 patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis treated with guselkumab [100 mg, subcutaneous (s.c.)] with a follow-up period of at least 52 weeks in a real-life setting conducted at the Department of Dermatology, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University and Department of Psoriasis, Dalian Dermatosis Hospital. The primary endpoint of the study was long-term effectiveness [reduction of Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) score, improvement of Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI)], safety, and tolerability of guselkumab. RESULTS: Guselkumab treatment decreased the mean PASI score from 12.46 ± 6.34 at baseline to 4.03 ± 3.25 (P < 0.001) and 0.77 ± 1.25 (P < 0.001) at 12 and 52 weeks. At 12 weeks, PASI 75, 90, and 100 response was achieved in 44.4%, 18.5%, and 11.1% of patients, respectively. At 1 year, PASI 75, 90, and 100 response was achieved in 88%, 72%, and 48% of patients, respectively. At 52 weeks, 96% of patients achieved a PASI score of ≤ 3 and 80% of patients achieved DLQI (0/1). No patients withdrewed from the study due to primary or secondary ineffectiveness or failure to adhere to the medication. During the follow-up period, only two adverse events were reported (tinea capitis and diarrhea). CONCLUSIONS: Our findings confirm that guselkumab is an appropriate therapeutic option in routine clinical practice, particularly when treating sophisticated patients with comorbidities or who failed to previous biologic therapy.

RESUMO

Although the method of inserting colloidal quantum dots (QDs) into deep nano-holes fabricated on the top surface of a light-emitting diode (LED) has been widely used for producing effective Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) from the LED quantum wells (QWs) into the QDs to enhance the color conversion efficiency, an important mechanism for enhancing energy transfer in such an LED structure was overlooked. This mechanism, namely, the nanoscale-cavity effect, represents a near-field Purcell effect and plays a crucially important role in enhancing the color conversion efficiency. Here, we demonstrate the results of LED performance, time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL), and numerical simulation to elucidate the nanoscale-cavity effect on color conversion by inserting a photoresist solution of red-emitting QDs into the nano-holes fabricated on a blue-emitting QW LED. Based on the TRPL study of the inserted QDs in a nano-hole structure fabricated on an un-doped GaN template of no QW, it is found that the emission efficiency of the inserted QDs is significantly increased due to the nanoscale-cavity effect. From the simulation study, it is confirmed that this effect can also increase the FRET efficiency, particularly for those radiating dipoles in the QWs oriented perpendicular to the sidewalls of the nano-holes. In the nanoscale-cavity effect, the enhanced near field distribution inside a nano-hole excited by a light emitter modifies its own radiation behavior through the Purcell effect such that its far-field emission becomes stronger.
