[Bilateral floating forearm: a case report]. / Avant-bras flottant bilatéral : à propos d'un cas.

The combination of elbow dislocation and perilunate dislocation is rare. The prognosis of this condition depends mainly on that of the wrist. While some cases of floating forearm have been reported, no bilateral affection has -of yet- to our knowledge, been published. The authors report a case of a young patient who presented with bilateral floating forearm after a fall from a height. The treatment was surgical at the wrist. The functional result is similar to cases reported in the literature.

[Patellar pathologic fracture secondary to aneurysmal bone cyst. A case report]. / Fracture pathologique de la patella sur kyste anévrismal osseux. A propos d'un cas.

Aneurysmal bone cyst is a tumor-like lesion which accounts for about 1% of all biopsied tumors and tumor-like lesions of bone. We report an extremely rare case of aneurysmal bone cyst of the patella in an 18-year-old patient revealed by a pathological fracture. The unexpected appearance of a pathological fracture affects the whole therapeutical management. However, in the case of a well-preserved articular surface, curettage and corticocancellous grafting are considered to be successful methods of treatment for aneurysmal bone cyst of the patella, as revealed in our study.

[Osteoblastoma in the proximal radio ulnar joint]. / Ostéoblastome de la petite cavité sigmoïde du cubitus.

Osteoblastoma is a benign but painful bone tumour, which can only be treated surgically. Localization at the elbow is rare and poses diagnostic problems. The tumour in this location causes joint stiffnesses due to pain and the regional inflammatory response. A delay in diagnosis can, despite successful treatment of the tumour, cause loss of the full range of movements of the elbow. We report a case illustrating this aspect.

[Rare localizations of bone tuberculosis. Three case reports]. / Localisations rares de la tuberculose osseuse. A propos de trois cas.

Bone and joint involvement is observed in 3 to 5 p. 100 of all cases of tuberculosis and in 15 p. 100 of extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Spinal and weight-bearing joints are most frequently involved. We report three cases of bone tuberculosis with rare localizations that raised difficult diagnostic problems. Our patients had tuberculosis of the sternum, the iliac bone and in the third case, the spine but solely in the posterior arch of the fourth cervical vertebra. X-ray evidenced bone lysis and invasion of adjacent tissues. The cold abscesses were evacuated surgically allowing bacteriological and histological diagnosis. The patients were successfully treated with anti-tuberculosis regimens. An infectious etiology should be considered in patients with bone lesions in order to obtain the samples necessary for positive diagnosis.
