RESUMO

A synthetic method for the enantioselective and regiodivergent synthesis of hexahydro-2H-2,4a-methanonaphthalen-4-yl and octahydro-2,4-methanoazulen-1-yl esters that relies on the gold(I)- and chiral Brønsted acid-catalyzed cycloisomerization/Diels-Alder (CDA) reaction of (E)-1,10-dien-4-yn-3-yl acetates is described.

Moringa oleifera Lam. leaves are a new raw food material rich in polysaccharides. These polysaccharides exhibit various biological properties, including antioxidant, hypoglycemic and immunoregulatory effects. However, the use of Moringa oleifera Lam. leaves polysaccharides (MOLP) may be limited by their large molecular weight (MW) and presence of numerous impurities, such as pigments. Research has indicated that degraded polysaccharides usually exhibit high biological activity because of changes in physical structure and chemical properties. In this study, we focused on the extraction of a degraded-modified fraction from MOLP using the Ultraviolet/ Hydrogen peroxide (UV/H2O2) method. Specifically, the physicochemical properties and glycosidic bond composition of a particular fraction (UV/H2O2 degraded Moringa oleifera Lam. leaves polysaccharides in 3 h called DMOLP-3) were investigated. In addition, in vitro simulated digestion experiments showed that DMOLP-3 was only partially degraded during gastrointestinal digestion, indicating that DMOLP-3 can be utilised by gut microorganisms. Furthermore, the prebiotic properties of MOLP and DMOLP-3 was studied using an in vitro faecal fermentation model. The results indicated that compared with MOLP, DMOLP-3 led to a decrease in both the colour and MW of the polysaccharides. In addition, this model exhibited enhanced solubility and antioxidant capabilities while also influencing the surface morphology. Moreover, DMOLP-3 can facilitate the proliferation of advantageous microorganisms and enhance the synthesis of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). These results provide valuable insights into the utilization of bioactive components in Moringa oleifera Lam. leaves for the intestinal health.

PURPOSE: To evaluate stereopsis in term-born, preterm, and preterm children with and without retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and its treatment. METHODS: The cross-sectional study included 322 children between 3 and 11 years of age born term or preterm, with or without ROP, and with or without treatment for ROP. The ROP treatments were laser therapy, intravitreal injection (IVI) of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor, or their combination. Stereoacuity was measured using the Titmus Stereo Test, and the results among various age groups were analyzed. RESULTS: Stereopsis was found to improve with increasing age at testing (P < 0.001) across the entire study population. The term group exhibited significantly better stereoacuity than the preterm group (P < 0.001). At 3-5 years and 6-8 years, the preterm children without ROP exhibited significantly better stereoacuity than did those with ROP (P < 0.001 and P = 0.02, respectively); however, at 9-11 years, both groups exhibited similar stereoacuity (P = 0.34). The stereoacuity in the children with untreated ROP was similar to that of the children with treated ROP in all age groups (P > 0.05). No significant differences in stereopsis were identified between children with ROP treated with laser versus with IVI (P > 0.05). From multivariate analysis, younger age at testing (P = 0.001) and younger gestational age (P < 0.001) were associated with poorer stereopsis. CONCLUSIONS: Stereopsis development gradually improved with age in all groups. The children born preterm exhibited poorer stereoacuity than those born term. Children with ROP treated with laser photocoagulation versus IVI may exhibit similar levels of stereoacuity. Younger age at testing and gestational age were independent risk factors for poorer stereoacuity.

BACKGROUND: To report a rare case of pulmonary and ocular complications with visual loss due to bilateral Purtscher-like retinopathy and paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM) following a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injection to the breast. Systemic and visual recovery was attained following corticosteroid therapy. CASE PRESENTATION: A 27-year-old lady presented with painless blurring of vision in both eyes for 2 weeks following hyaluronic acid breast filler injections by a non-medical practitioner. She was initially admitted to the medical ward for diffuse alveolar haemorrhage and altered sensorium. The presenting visual acuity was counting fingers in both eyes. Bilateral dilated fundus examination showed hyperaemic discs, concentric rim of retinal whitening around macula with patches of polygonal-shaped retinal whitening, generalised cotton-wool spots, tortuous veins, and flame-shaped haemorrhages. Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) macula revealed hyper-reflective bands at the inner nuclear layer (INL). Fluorescein angiography demonstrated hot discs, delayed arm-to-retina time, arterial filling, and arterio-venous transit time with staining of the vessels at the posterior pole. She was managed with a tapering dose of systemic corticosteroids. The visual acuity improved to 6/12 over 8 weeks with significant anatomical and functional improvement. Dilated fundus examination showed resolution of initial funduscopy findings. The hyper-reflective bands on the OCT had resolved with subsequent thinning of the INL and disorganisation of retinal inner layers. CONCLUSION: Filler injections are in increasing demand and are frequently being performed by non-medical practitioners. Visual loss from non-facial HA fillers is rare. Inadvertent entry of HA into a blood vessel may potentially cause systemic and sight-threatening ocular complications. Good anatomical knowledge and proper injection technique are vital in preventing this unfortunate sequela. There are limited reports on successful visual recovery following various treatment approaches and we hope this case provides valuable insights.

A major active constituent of Moringa oleifera Lam. is 4-[(α-L-rhamnose oxy) benzyl] isothiocyanate (MITC). To broaden MITC's application and improve its biological activity, we synthesized a series of MITC quinazolinone derivatives and evaluated their anticancer activity. The anticancer effects and mechanisms of the compound with the most potent anticancer activity were investigated further. Among 16 MITC quinazolinone derivatives which were analyzed, MITC-12 significantly inhibited the growth of U251, A375, A431, HCT-116, HeLa, and MDA-MB-231 cells. MITC-12 significantly inhibited U251 cell proliferation in a time- and dose-dependent manner and decreased the number of EdU-positive cells, but was not toxic to normal human gastric mucosal cells (GES-1). Further, MITC-12 induced apoptosis of U251 cells, and increased caspase-3 expression levels and the Bax:Bcl-2 ratio. In addition, MITC-12 significantly decreased the proportion of U251 cells in the G1 phase and increased it in S and G2 phases. Transcriptome sequencing showed that MITC-12 had a significant regulatory effect on pathways regulating the cell cycle. Further, MITC-12 significantly decreased the expression levels of the cell cycle-related proteins CDK2, cyclinD1, and cyclinE, and increased those of cyclinA2, as well as the p-JNK:JNK ratio. These results indicate that MITC-12 inhibits U251 cell proliferation by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest, activating JNK, and regulating cell cycle-associated proteins. MITC-12 has potential for use in the prevention and treatment of glioma.

BACKGROUND: Increasing hepatic insulin signaling is found to be an important mechanism of Platycodon grandiflorus root to alleviate metabolic syndrome (MetS) symptoms such as insulin resistance, obesity, hyperlipidemia and hepatic steatosis, but the details are not yet clear. Since the main constituents of Platycodon grandiflorus root were hard to be absorbed by gastrointestinal tract, getting opportunity to interact with gut microbiota, we speculate the gut microorganisms may mediate its effect. PURPOSE: Our work aimed to confirm the critical role of gut microbes in the intervention of Platycodon grandiflorus root extract (PRE) on MetS, and investigate the mechanism. METHODS: Biochemical analyses, glucose tolerance test and hepatic lipidomics analysis were used to evaluate the anti-MetS effect of PRE on high fat diet (HFD) fed mice. Perform 16S rDNA analysis, qPCR analysis and in vitro co-incubation experiment to study its effect on gut microbes, followed by fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiment and antibiotics intervention experiment. Also, the effect of Akkermansia muciniphila treatment on HFD mice was investigated. RESULTS: PRE alleviated lipid accumulation and insulin resistance in HFD mice and remodeled the fecal microbiome. It also increased the gene expression of colonic tight junction proteins, alleviated metabolic endotoxemia and inflammation, so that reduced TNF-α induced hepatic JNK-dependent IRS-1 serine phosphorylation and the impairment of PI3K/PIP3/Akt insulin signaling pathway. A. muciniphila was one of the most significantly enriched microbes by PRE treatment, and its administration to HFD mice showed similar effects to PRE, repairing the gut barrier and activating hepatic PI3K/PIP3/Akt pathway. Finally, anti-MetS effect of PRE could be delivered to FMT recipients, and PRE could not further attenuate MetS in gut microbiota depleted mice. CONCLUSION: We demonstrated for the first time that PRE alleviated MetS in a gut microbiota dependent manner, and found activation of hepatic insulin signaling mediated by gut A. muciniphila was a potential mechanism of it.

Cyclophosphamide (CP) has been proven to be an embryo-fetal toxic. However, the mechanism responsible for the toxicity of the teratogenic agent has not been fully explored. This study aimed to examine the teratogenicity of CP when administered in the sensitive period of pregnant rats. The effect of CP on the lipid and metabolic profiles of amniotic fluid was evaluated using a UHPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap MS-based method. Metabolome analysis was performed using the MS-DIAL software with LipidBlast and NIST. Initially, we identified 636 and 154 lipid compounds in the positive and negative ion modes and 118 metabolites for differential analysis. Mainly 4 types of oxidized lipids in the amniotic fluid were found to accumulate most significantly after CP treatment, including very-long-chain unsaturated fatty acids (VLCUFAs), polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA)-containing triglycerides (TGs), oxidized phosphatidylcholine (PC), and sphingomyelin (SM). Tryptophan and some long-chain saturated fatty acids were lowered pronouncedly after CP treatment. These findings suggest that CP may exert teratogenic toxicity on pregnant rats through maternal and fetal oxidative stress. The UHPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap MS-based lipidomics approach is worthy of wider application for evaluating the potential toxicity of other agents (toxicants) during embryonic development.

In this study, the microwave-assisted method was used to synthesize seleno-polysaccharides from Lonicerae Japonicae Flos, and the optimal process conditions were optimized.Meanwhile, the immunological activity of seleno-polysaccharides from Lonicerae Japonicae Flos was investigated.The results showed that under the conditions of nitric acid concentration of 0.512%, reaction temperature of 70.0 ℃, microwave power of 600 W, reaction time of 44.0 min, and m(Na_2SeO_3)∶m(polysaccharides)=1.0, the selenium content of Lonicerae Japonicae Flos seleno-polysaccharides was 3.89 mg·g~(-1).The results of in vitro immunoassay showed that polysaccharides and seleno-polysaccharides from Lonicerae Japonicae Flos could promote the proliferation of mouse RAW264.7 macrophages as compared with the conditions in the normal group.Compared with Lonicerae Japonicae Flos polysaccharides, Lonicerae Japonicae Flos seleno-polysaccharides could significantly facilitate the proliferation of mouse RAW264.7 macrophages and promote the production of IL-1ß and TNF-α at the concentration of 20-160 µg·mL~(-1).This study provided references for broadening the application of polysaccharides from Lonicerae Japonicae Flos.

The present study explored the optimum synthesis process of Rehmannia glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides with acetic acid as a catalyst, characterized the structure of R. glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), thermogravimetry(TG), and atomic force microscopy(AFM), and preliminarily investigated the immunological activity of R. glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides. The results showed that the optimal conditions for the synthesis of R. glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides included m(acetic acid)∶m(R. glutinosa polysaccharides)=0.80, m(Na_2SeO_3)∶m(R. glutinosa polysaccharides)=1.25, reaction temperature of 80.0 ℃, and reaction time of 7.0 h. Under these conditions, the selenium content of R. glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides was 2.239 mg·g~(-1). The acetic acid catalysis method was milder than the nitric acid method, without affecting the structure of polysaccharides. The results of IR, SEM, TG, and AFM showed that R. glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides were properly prepared. The results of immunological activity showed that compared with the control group, R. glutinosa seleno-polysaccharides could significantly promote the phagocytic capacity of mouse monocyte macrophages and improve the spleen index and thymus index of mice. In the concentration range of 15-240 µg·mL~(-1), the proliferation of spleen lymphocytes of mice was strengthened, and the IL-2 and IFN-γ secretion by Th1 cytokines was promoted. This study can provide references for the further development and application of R. glutinosa polysaccharides.

Purpose: To report a rare case of Aicardi syndrome presenting with concurrent peripheral retina nonperfusion with 360-degree neovascularization in the right eye and stalk tissue with a peripapillary fibrovascular membrane and tractional retinal detachment (TRD) in the left eye. Observations: A one-month-old girl was referred for an ophthalmic evaluation to confirm the diagnosis of Aicardi syndrome due to abnormal brain magnetic resonance imaging. A 360-degree circumferential peripheral avascular retina with extensive neovascularization was present in the right eye. Stalk tissue with fibrovascular proliferation causing TRD was found in the left fundus. The retina of the right eye became quiescent after completing peripheral laser photocoagulation. The detached retina in the left eye was flattened, and the peripapillary chorioretinal lacunae became visible one year after surgical removal of the traction. In addition, the axial length growth of the left eye regained. Conclusion and importance: This is a rare case of Aicardi syndrome with concurrent peripapillary fibrovascular traction in one eye and peripheral retina nonperfusion in the other eye. Surgical intervention is vital not only for removing the traction and flattening the retina but also for promoting continual growth of the eyeball.

This study aims to acetylate Rehmannia glutinosa polysaccharides by acetic anhydride method, optimize process parameters and evaluate their antioxidant activity. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effects of Zuogui Wan (ZGW) on bone loss induced by ovariectomy (OVX) and its mechanism via orexin-A and orexin receptors in the osteoporosis rat model. METHODS: Fifty Sprague-Dawley female rats were randomly divided into sham-operated (sham) group and four OVX subgroups. Rats subjected to sham and OVX were treated with the vehicle (OVX, 1 mL/100 g weight, n = 10), 17ß-estradiol (E2, 50 µg*kg-1*d-1), and ZGW at the doses of 2.3 (ZGW-L) and 4.6 (ZGW-H) g/kg/day lyophilized powder daily for 3 months, respectively. The serum biochemical parameters of 17ß-estrogen (17ß-E2), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRACP-5b) and bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was used to detect the changes in the morphological structure in bones. Microcomputed tomography was used to evaluate the bone mineral density and microarchitecture of the distal femur. The gene or protein expression of orexin-A, orexin receptor 1 (OX1R), orexin receptor 2 (OX2R), osteoprotegerin (OPG) and receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) were assayed by either quantitative polymerase chain reaction or Western blot analysis. RESULTS: Compared with the OVX group, ZGW could reduce the serum level of TRACP-5b and increased the serum levels of BALP and17ß-E2 (P < 0.01). Meanwhile, ZGW could prevent bone loss and improved bone trabecular microarchitecture by increasing the trabeculae structure thickness and trabecular number, and arranging the trabeculae structure properly. Compared with the OVX group, it was upregulated for the orexin-A and OX2R mRNA or protein expression from the hypothalamus and tibiae, and OPG in the tibiae of ZGW groups (P < 0.01, < 0.05), while downregulated for the OX1R mRNA and protein expression in the tibiae and hypothalamus and RANKL from the tibiae (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: ZGW exhibited a protective effect for PMOP that may be mediated via orexin-A and orexin receptors regulation.

Understanding factors associated with disease severity and mortality from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) was critical for effective risk stratification. We aimed to investigate the association between biomarkers of clinical laboratory tests, including serum C-reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid protein (SAA), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and D-dimer (DD) and poor prognosis of COVID-19. We have searched many studies on COVID-19 on PubMed (Medline), Web of Science and Cochrane until 1 March 2021. The interest of this study was original articles reporting on laboratory testing projects and outcome of patients with COVID-19 that comprises mortality, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), need for care in an intensive care unit (ICU), and severe COVID-19. After synthesizing all data, we performed meta-analysis of random effects, and determined mean difference (MD) and standard mean difference at the biomarker level for different disease severity. A total of 7,739 patients with COVID-19 were pooled from 32 studies. CRP was significantly associated with poor prognosis of COVID-19 (SMD = 0.98, 95% CI = (0.85, 1.11), p < .001). Elevated SAA was associated with an increased composite poor outcome in COVID-19 (SMD = 1.06, 95% CI = (0.39, 1.72), p = .002). An elevated LDH was associated with a composite poor outcome (SMD = 1.18, 95% CI = (1.00, 1.36), p < .001). Patients with a composite poor outcome had a higher DD level (SMD = 0.91, 95% CI = (0.79, 1.02), p < .001). This meta-analysis showed that elevated serum CRP, SAA, LDH, and DD were associated with a poor outcome in COVID-19.

Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors diagnosed worldwide. Moringa oleifera Lam. is a valuable medicinal plant native to India and Pakistan. However, the antilung cancer activity of M. oleifera alkaloid extract (MOAE) is unknown. The present study aimed to evaluate the regulatory effect of MOAE on A549 cells by examination of the proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle, and migration of cells and to elucidate the possible mechanism of action of MOAE. We tested five types of cancer cells and four types of lung cancer cells and found MOAE exerted the strongest growth inhibitory effect against A549 cells but had low toxicity to GES-1 cells (human gastric mucosal epithelial cells). Simultaneously, MOAE induced apoptosis and increased the expression of the apoptosis-related proteins caspase-3 and caspase-9 in A549 cells. Furthermore, MOAE induced cell cycle arrest in the S phase through a decrease in the expression of the proteins cyclin D1 and cyclin E and an increase in the expression of the protein p21. MOAE also inhibited the migratory ability of A549 cells and decreased the expression of the migration-related proteins, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) 2 and MMP9. In addition, the phosphorylation level of JAK2 and STAT3 proteins was decreased in MOAE-treated A549 cells. Furthermore, AZD1480 (a JAK inhibitor) and MOAE inhibited the proliferation and migration of A549 cells and induced cell apoptosis, and the effects of MOAE and AZD1480 were not additive. These results indicated that MOAE inhibits the proliferation and migration of A549 cells and induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest through a mechanism that is related to the inhibition of JAK2/STAT3 pathway activation. Thus, this extract has potential for preventing and treating lung cancer.

Enterococcus faecalis is known to cause severe acute endophthalmitis and often leads to poor visual outcomes in most ophthalmic infections. This retrospective study is to report the clinical settings, antimicrobial susceptibility patterns, and visual outcome of E. faecalis endophthalmitis at a tertiary referral institution in Taoyuan, Taiwan. E. faecalis endophthalmitis was diagnosed in 37 eyes of 37 patients. Post-cataract surgery was the most common cause (n = 27, 73%), followed by bleb-associated (n = 3, 8%), endogenous (n = 2, 5%), corneal ulcer-related (n = 2, 5%), post-vitrectomy (n = 1, 3%), post-pterygium excision (n = 1, 3%), and trauma (n = 1, 3%). Visual acuities upon presentation ranged from counting fingers to no light perception. Pars plana vitrectomy with intravitreal antibiotics were performed in 23 eyes (76%) as primary or secondary treatment. All isolates (37/37, 100%) were sensitive to vancomycin, penicillin, ampicillin, and teicoplanin. Six of 22 eyes (27%) were resistant to high-level gentamicin (minimum inhibitory concentration > 500 mg/L). Final visual acuities were better than 20/400 in 11 eyes (30%), 5/200 to hand motions in 4 eyes (11%), and light perception to no light perception in 22 eyes (59%). Three eyes were treated with evisceration. Compared with non-cataract subgroups, the post-cataract subgroup showed a significant difference of better visual prognosis (p = 0.016).

Streptococcus pneumoniae endophthalmitis is clinically more severe, more difficult to treat, and carry a higher risk of vision loss, evisceration, or enucleation. This study is to investigate the clinical settings, antibiotic susceptibility, and visual outcomes of S. pneumoniae endophthalmitis at a tertiary referral center in Taiwan. S. pneumoniae endophthalmitis was diagnosed in 38 eyes of 38 patients. The main clinical features were postcataract endophthalmitis (n = 13, 34%) and endophthalmitis associated with corneal ulcer (n = 12, 32%), trauma (n = 6, 16%), endogenous etiology (n = 4, 11%), trabeculectomy (n = 2, 5%), and pterygium excision-related scleral ulcer (n = 1, 3%). Presenting visual acuity ranged from counting fingers to no light perception. Pars plana vitrectomy with intravitreal antibiotics was performed in 17 eyes (39%) in primary or secondary treatments. S. pneumoniae isolates were susceptible to vancomycin (38/38, 100%), penicillin (37/38, 97%), ceftriaxone (37/38, 97%), cefuroxime (12/15, 80%), levofloxacin (13/15 ,87%), and moxifloxacin (15/17, 88%). Final visual acuity was better than 20/400 in 3 of 38 eyes (8%), 5/200 to hand motions in 3 eyes (8%), and light perception to no light perception in 32 eyes (84%). Ten eyes (26%) underwent evisceration or enucleation. Although S. pneumoniae isolates were susceptible to vancomycin, S. pneumoniae endophthalmitis had a very poor visual prognosis.

PURPOSE: To compare the outcomes between using a nasal and a temporal inverted internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap both assisted by a novel technique in repairing a full-thickness macular hole (FTMH). DESIGN: Retrospective interventional case series. METHODS: Thirty-nine eyes from 39 patients with a FTMH <600 µm were included from a single institution. All patients underwent vitrectomy using a semicircular single-layered ILM inverted flap assisted by a sub-perfluorocarbon liquid injection of ophthalmic viscoelastic device (OVD) technique. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and spectral domain optical coherence tomography were used to compare outcomes between nasal (n = 19) and temporal (n = 20) groups. RESULTS: At 6 months postoperatively, all FTMHs closed and BCVA were significantly improved. Overall, 36 eyes (92%) achieved U-shaped closure, and ellipsoid zone restoration was noted in 24 eyes (62%). An ILM flap was present in 29 eyes (74%) and 86% remained single-layered. There were significantly more deep inner retinal dimples in the temporal group (35%) compared with 5% in the nasal group (P = .04), but these were unrelated to BCVA. Significant retinal thinning in the temporal outer sub-field was noted in the temporal group and was negatively correlated with BCVA (rho [ρ]: - .53; P = .03). No significant postoperative retinal displacement was noted in either group. CONCLUSIONS: The technique of using sub-perfluorocarbon liquid injection of OVD secured single-layered flaps intraoperatively and postoperatively. Both the nasal and temporal inverted ILM flaps repaired FTMH and improved visual acuity. However, both temporal macular thinning and deep inner retinal dimples were significantly greater in the temporal group.

Moringa oleifera Lam. (M. oleifera) is valuable plant distributed in many tropical and subtropical countries. It has a number of medicinal uses and is highly nutritious. M. oleifera has been shown to inhibit tumor cell growth, but this effect has not been demonstrated on prostate cancer cells. In this study, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of M. oleifera alkaloids (MOA) on proliferation and migration of PC3 human prostate cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Furthermore, we elucidated the mechanism of these effects. The results showed that MOA inhibited proliferation of PC3 cells and induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. Furthermore, MOA suppressed PC3 cell migration and inhibited the expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP)-9. In addition, MOA significantly downregulated the expression of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2), ß-catenin, phosphorylated glycogen synthase 3ß, and vascular endothelial growth factor, and suppressed production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). Furthermore, FH535 (ß-catenin inhibitor) and MOA reversed PGE2-induced PC3 cell proliferation and migration, and the effects of MOA and FH535 were not additive. In vivo experiments showed that MOA (150 mg/kg) significantly inhibited growth of xenograft tumors in mice, and significantly reduced the protein expression levels of COX-2 and ß-catenin in tumor tissues. These results indicate that MOA inhibits the proliferation and migration, and induces apoptosis and cell cycle arrest of PC3 cells. Additionally, MOA inhibits the proliferation and migration of PC3 cells through suppression of the COX-2 mediated Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway.
