RESUMO

Two coordination polymers (CPs), [Zn5(L)2(phen)5](1) and [Cd2(HL)(2,2-bpy)(H2O)3](2), were synthesized by using 2',3,3',5,5'-Diphenyl ether pentacarboxylic acid (H5L), phenanthroline (phen), and 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-bpy) under hydrothermal conditions. The L5- ligand adopts the µ6-к2: к2: к1: к1: к1: к1 mode in 1 and the µ5-к2: к2: к2: к2: к1 mode in 2. Sensing experiments show that 1 and 2 are fluorescence probes with high sensitivity and rapid detection of nitro explosives, antibiotics, and pesticides. In order to verify the ability of 2 to detect FLU in actual samples, we performed a spiked recovery experiment in green pepper water. The spiked recoveries were 97.77-101.18 %. Interestingly, because H5L is not completely deprotonated in 2, there is abundant hydrogen bonding, which makes the fluorescence quenching rate higher and the detection limit lower. The possible fluorescence quenching mechanism of 1 and 2 can be explained by their UV-VIS absorption spectra and orbital energy levels.

RESUMO

Using a nitrogen-containing tricarboxylic acid ligand (imidazole-1-yl) benzene-2,4,6-tricarboxylic acid (H3ttc) and lanthanide metal elements (Dy, Eu, Nd, and Gd), four lanthanide metal organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) with the same structure, namely, {[Dy2 (Httc)3]·1.5DMF}n(1), {[Eu2 (Httc)3]·1.5DMF}n(2), {[Nd2 (Httc)3]·1.5DMF}n(3), and {[Gd2 (Httc)3]·1.5DMF}n(4), were synthesized under solvothermal conditions. The characterization analysis showed that the four isomorphic Ln-MOFs were trigonal crystals of the R3̅c space group, with good phase purity and thermal stability. Fluorescence analysis showed that complex 1 can be an excellent fluorescence sensor for Bi3+, HPO42-, and fluridine (Flu), while complex 2 can be an excellent fluorescence sensor for p-nitrobenzoic acid (PNBA). And their sensing mechanisms were discussed in detail. The fluorescent test paper and fluorescent seal were prepared by using the excellent luminescence properties of 1 and 2, and the pesticide on the surface of cherry tomato was detected. The applicability of these MOFs as fluorescence sensors was proved. Therefore, Ln-MOFs are expected to have unpredictable application prospects in the field of environmental detection.

RESUMO

A new Europium metal-organic framework (Eu-MOF), namely [Eu(dpa) (H2O)]·0.5(bpy)·4H2O}n (H4dpa = 5-(3,4-dicarboxyphenoxy) isophenic acid, bpy = protonated 4,4'-bipyridine) was synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction analyses. Eu-MOF shows a three-dimensional network structure based on EuIII ions and (dpa)4- ligands via µ4: η1, η2, η2, η2 coordination mode. Fluorescence analysis shows that Eu-MOF has excellent fluorescence sensing characteristics, which can efficiently and sensitively detect various pollutants in water: the limit of detection (LOD) of ratiometric fluorescence detection of ANI in water was 42.9 nM, which was better than the single-peak detection limit. In addition, the peak detection limits of Eu-MOF for Flu, ORN and NB were 120 nM, 27 nM and 94 nM, respectively. In addition, XPS, LUMO orbital energy level, fluorescence lifetime, ultraviolet absorption and other principles are used to explore the mechanism of fluorescence quenching. Surprisingly, Eu-MOF not only has excellent anti- counterfeiting ability and stability, can be used as anti-counterfeiting material in life, but also has good selectivity to Flu. Eu-MOF has obvious fluorescence quenching effect on Flu on paper under ultraviolet light, which can be used for rapid in situ imaging test paper of pesticide residues.

RESUMO

Two cadmium coordination polymers (CPs), {[Cd(zgt)(2,2'-bipy)(H2O)]·H2O}n (1) and {[Cd(zgt)(BPP)(H2O)]·H2O}n (2) (H2zgt = 5-methoxyresorcinic acid, 2,2'-bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine, and BPP = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane), were prepared by the hydrothermal method. The structures of CPs 1-2 were characterized by IR, TGA, X-ray powder diffraction, and elemental analysis. The single-crystal structure analysis shows that CP 1 is a typical 1D chain structure and CP 2 belongs to a 2D layered structure. Based on the excellent luminescence properties of CP 1 and 2, fluorescence sensing experiments were carried out for explosives and pesticides. The results of the explosion sensing experiment showed that CP 1 and 2 had an excellent fluorescence quenching effect on PNBA (p-nitrobenzoic acid) and TNP (2,4,6-trinitrophenol), respectively, and the detection limits were 3.28 and 11.4 nM, respectively. Interestingly, both CP 1 and 2 showed good fluorescence quenching against the pesticide fluridine (Flu), and CP 1 had a lower detection limit and was more sensitive. In addition, the fluorescence quenching mechanism was discussed in detail by the UV absorption spectrum and density functional theory. In order to explore its practical application, the content of Flu in water samples was detected by a labeling recovery method.

RESUMO

A Cd-based metal-organic framework (Cd-MOF), named after {[Cd(ttc)(H2O)]·H2O}n (ttc = 1-imidazole-1-yl-2,4,6-benzene-tricarboxylic acid), was synthesized using the solvothermal reaction. The single-crystal structure was determined by single X-ray diffraction analysis, and crystalline characteristics and composition were confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TG), respectively. Structural analysis showed that the Cd2+ ion is in the seven-coordinated mode, in which ttc2- ion adopts the µ4-η1-η1-η2-η2 coordination mode. It is worth noting that the Cd2+ ion is connected to ttc2- to form a 2D network, and the adjacent 2D network is expanded into a 3D supramolecular network structure through weak hydrogen bonds. The fluorescence sensing experiments indicated that Cd-MOF could not only be used as a fluorescence sensor for Fe3+, fluazinam (FLU), and 2,4,6-trinitrophenolol (TNP) but also for sulfasalazine detection in aqueous solution. To verify the sensitivity of the fluorescent probe, we calculated its detection limit: 5.34 × 10-8 M (Fe3+), 7.8 × 10-8 M (FLU), 1.21 × 10-7 M (TNP), and 2.67 × 10-7 M (SECT). In addition, the quenching mechanism was thoroughly studied.

RESUMO

The sluggish four-electron processes of the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) limit the development of rechargeable Zn-air batteries (RZABs). Highly efficient ORR/OER bifunctional electrocatalysts are therefore highly desired for the commercialization of RZABs in large scale. Herein, the Fe-N4-C (ORR active sites) and NiFe-LDH clusters (OER active sites) are successfully integrated within a NiFe-LDH/Fe,N-CB electrocatalyst. The NiFe-LDH/Fe,N-CB electrocatalyst is first prepared by the introduction of Fe-N4 into carbon black (CB), followed by the growth of NiFe-LDH clusters. The cluster nature of NiFe-LDH effectively avoids the blocking of Fe-N4-C ORR active centers and affords excellent OER activity. The NiFe-LDH/Fe,N-CB electrocatalyst thus exhibits an excellent bifunctional ORR and OER performance, with a potential gap of only 0.71 V. The NiFe-LDH/Fe,N-CB-based RZAB exhibits an open-circuit voltage of 1.565 V and a specific capacity of 731 mAh gZn-1, which is much better than the RZAB composed of Pt/C and IrO2. Particularly, the NiFe-LDH/Fe,N-CB-based RZAB displays excellent long-term charging/discharging cyclic stability and rechargeability. Even at a large charging/discharging current density (20 mA cm-2), the charging/discharging voltage gap is only ∼1.33 V and exhibits an increase smaller than 5% after 140 cycles. This work provides a new low-cost bifunctional ORR/OER electrocatalyst with high activity and superior long-term stability and will be helpful to the commercialization of RZAB in large scale.

RESUMO

The abuse of pesticides, antibiotics, organic solvents, etc., not only deteriorates the ecological environment, but even affects the normal development of organisms, posing a serious threat to global public health.Efficient and sensitive detection of pesticides, antibiotics, organic solvents and so on are very important, but also a challenge to scientists. By depositing Ag nanoparticles on the surface of Zn-MOF (1: {[Zn2(bta)(bpy)(H2O)2]·2H2O}n), a new type of composite material (Ag@1) was successfully synthesized and analyzed by TEM, EDS, XPS, XRD, IR and other characterization methods. Ag@1 can serve as multi-response fluorescence sensor to detect pesticides (fluazinam (FLU) and emamectin benzoate (EMB)), Tryptophan (Trp) and Ethylenediamine (EDA). In particular, Ag@1 showed "turn-off" fluorescence sensing for FLU and EDA, and "turn-on" fluorescence sensing for EMB and Trp. It is worth mentioning that we further explored its analysis of FLU and Trp in real water samples and fetal bovine serum. The recoveries are satisfactory, 97.95 % - 102.39 % and 96.69 % - 101.85 %, respectively. In addition, the photocatalytic performance of Ag@1 was found to be excellent, the degradation rate of methylene blue (MB) reached 86 %, and its degradation mechanism was discussed.

RESUMO

The construction of excellent photocatalysts for splitting water into hydrogen is highly desirable to realize carbon neutralization. In this work, an innovative and well-designed S-scheme photocatalyst composed of ultrathin ZnIn2S4 (ZIS) nanosheets uniformly anchored on the surface of organic semiconductor PDIIM is successfully fabricated. Within the heterojunction, perylene diimide with an imidazole group (PDIIM) is strategically applied as a structure template, which plays a crucial role in optimizing the morphology, increasing the active sites of sulfur vacancies, providing the additional photothermal effect, and promoting photogenerated charge separation of the catalyst. The photocatalytic H2 generation rate of the ZIS/PDIIM heterojunction with an optimized mass ratio reaches up to 13.04 mmol/g/h, which is 2.64 times and 14.02 times higher than that of pristine ZIS and PDIIM, respectively. The outstanding photocatalytic activity is attributed to the synergistic effect of the above advantages. Importantly, the photothermal effect induced by PDIIM belonging to the perylene diimide-based derivative was discovered to accelerate photocatalytic H2 generation for the first time. This work provides valuable insight into the utilization of perylene diimide-based derivatives in the construction of multi-effect enhancement photocatalysts and their application in photothermal-assisted photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

RESUMO

A novel polysaccharide, MEP-II, isolated from the fermentation broth of Morchella esculenta inhibited the proliferation of human hepatoma cell line (HepG2) through an apoptotic pathway. After HepG2 cells were treated with 150-600 µg MEP-II/ml, typical apoptotic characteristics including externalization of phosphatidylserine residues on the cell surface, nuclear fragmentation, chromatin condensation and cytoplasm shrinkage were observed. Furthermore, reactive oxygen species (ROS) burst and the collapse of mitochondrial membrane potential (Δψm) also occurred in HepG2 cells after incubation of 150-600 µg MEP-II/ml. The antioxidant, 1 mM N-acetyl-L-cysteine inhibited MEP-II-induced apoptosis, suggesting that ROS are the key mediators for MEP-II-induced apoptosis. MEP-II is therefore a potential anti-tumor agent that induces apoptosis of HepG2 cells through ROS generation.

RESUMO

The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)], exhibits a centrosymmetric binuclear molecule. Each completely deprotonated 4-hy-droxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarb-oxy-lic acid mol-ecule assumes a tridentate chelating coordination mode. The square-pyramidal coordination geometry around the Cu(II) ion is completed by the bridging bipyridine ligand and an apical water molecule. Adjacent complexes are connected via O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Polysaccharides extracted from fungi or algae have shown a variety of medical activities, and the exploitation of polysaccharides for application in pharmacy has been very promising. In this study, the immunomodulatory properties of polysaccharides from Morchella esculenta were investigated to identify immunostimulatory activity and potentially contribute to the therapeutic potential of Morchella esculenta. RESULTS: A water-soluble polysaccharide, MEP, was obtained from the fermentation broth of Morchella esculenta. Two fractions of this polysaccharide (MEP-I and MEP-II) were extracted and purified. High-performance gel permeation chromatography analysis showed the average molecular weights of two polysaccharides. Structural properties and compositions of these two fractions were examined by Fourier transform infrared and a high-performance liquid chromatography with an evaporative light scattering detector. Active experiments suggested that the MEP had typical immunostimulatory activity. CONCLUSION: These bioactivity tests showed that the polysaccharides from Morchella esculenta presented significant immune modulating activity, and this finding may offer the basis for the popular use of polysaccharides in functional foods or medicine.
