[DENSITY OF THE BONES FORMING HIP AND KNEE JOINTS IN PATIENTS AGED OVER 60 YEARS WITH COXARTHROSIS AND GONARTHROSIS ACCORDING TO MULTISLICE COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY].

The purpose of the study was to review quantitative and qualitative radiological manifestations of coxarthrosis and gonarthritis in patients aged over 60 years. Radiography, computed tomography and multislice computed tomography were performed for 48 patients aged 60-70 years with deforming arthritis of the hip and knee joints. Idiopathic and dysplastic cases prevailed. The results of the study showed that roentgen anatomical changes in the hip and knee joints were accompanied by changes in the density of femoral head, typical restructuring of the femoral and tibial condyles, patella that could earlier be detected with computed tomography. A decrease in the total density of the femoral and tibial condyles and a relative increase in subchondral density with varus of the knee in particular were shown to be a specific feature of quantitative changes in the density of bone tissue in patients with deforming arthritis.

[X-ray-morphological peculiarities of the long bones and reconstraction of their structure after elimination of knee joint deformation in children with hematogenous osteomyelitis consequences].

Roentgeno-morphological peculiarities of the bones forming the knee joint were studied in 47 patients with knee deformation caused by hematogenous osteomyelitis before and after treatment by the method of transosseous osteosynthesis. The stages of reconstruction of distraction regenerate were observed by radiography and computed tomography methods.

[CT characteristics of solitary long bone cysts before and after treatment].

Computed tomography was used to study the X-ray morphological characteristics of femoral and humoral bone cysts and the course of a reparative process after surgery in 23 patients with varying activity of solitary bone cysts. Treatment using transosseous osteosynthesis, intraosseous armoring, and therapeutic and diagnostic punctures in patients with solitary bone cysts could yield the most active osteoproductive effect and cause a considerable increase in the density of cyst contents in active and activity-losing stages, which was most evident around the intraosseous wires. Patients with late-stage cysts were found to have an osteogenic effect, mainly in an area of osteotomy.

[X-ray features of vitamin D-deficiency and vitamin D-resistant rickets].

To study the age-related features of growth areas and to detect the x-ray background of recurrent deformities in patients with rickets-like diseases, the investigators analyzed knee arthrograms in 74 patients aged 4 to 16 years (28 and 46 patients with vitamin D-deficiency or vitamin D-resistant rickets (phosphate diabetes), respectively) prior to treatment and in the late period.

[Description of rearrangement of distraction reclaim in the extension of the lower extremities and elimination of their deformity in patients with various etiology of shortening].

The data of X-ray and computed tomographic studies of a long tube distraction reclaim were analyzed in 80 patients who had limb shortening and deformity of varying etiology. The analysis has shown that during distraction there is a positive correlation between the increase in the connective-tissue interlayer area of a distraction reclaim and the overall increase in the area of the distraction reclaim (their ratio is not greater than 30% under the optimal elongation conditions). During fixation there is a decrease in the ratio of the area of a growth zone to the total area of a reclaim and in its total density with a parallel increase in the density of cortical laminae of a newly formed bone. Complete organotypic rearrangement comes to the end in the range of 1-3 years depending on the magnitude of pathomorphological and biomechanical changes and limb function.
