RESUMO
We report a rare case of anterior pontine hydatid cyst. Diagnosis was established on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings preoperatively and was confirmed during surgery and by laboratory findings of cyst fluid, and section of cyst wall. A classical suboccipital craniectomy was performed, followed by an approach through the floor of the fourth ventricle. After a failed attempt at the Dowling technique, we punctured the cyst, aspirated the contents, then extirpated the cyst membrane. The patient survived suffering only minor morbidity. The surgical technique and pontine myelotomy are discussed.

The authors describe a case of a completely intrinsic brain tumor which was resected totally and which proved to be a meningioma. In correlation with this anatomic diversity, the MRI findings also significantly differed from that of the known radiologic features of classical meningioma.

The authors report on a 31-year-old male patient harboring multiple intracranial mass lesions which proved histologically to be due to infection with Cladosporium trichoides upon removal of one of the lesions. Aggressive antifungal chemotherapy with fluconazole (400 mg/d for 3 months) in combination with surgery resulted in good clinical and radiologic outcome which prompted us to report this case.
