[Value and results of glossectomy in open bite]. / Intérêts et résultats de la glossectomie dans les béances.

Partial glossectomy is an important part of the treatment of a number of forms of apertognathia, provided it is performed wisely with a rigorous technique (i.e. with sufficient resection and adapted to the lesions produced by the macroglossia). It can obtain favourable and constant results.

[Unusual fissural cysts and an odd mesiodens]. / De drôles de kystes fissuraires et un curieux mésiodens.

Two radiological "pitfalls" were detected fortuitously. In the first case there were two images suggestive of fissural cysts of the maxilla between the lateral incisors and the canines which were found to be zones of osteolysis of unknown origin. The radiological image in the second case, of a mesiodens situated high in the palate, was finally diagnosed as being due to a rhinolith.
