The authors describe various alterations to the cervical spinous processes and stress the importance of examining the cortical bone.

[Thyroid carcinoma in an adult cystic teratoma of the ovary with bony metastases]. / Carcinome thyroïdien sur tératome kystique adulte de l'ovaire avec métastases osseuses.

An oophorectomy specimen in a patient aged 36 showed a dermoid cyst with a struma ovarii and what was considered to be a folliculo-trabecular adenoma. Two osseous metastases appeared 4 and 8 years later respectively. The follow-up so far is 15 years. This is the twentieth reported case of mature cystic teratoma of the ovary containing metastating thyroid carcinoma.

[Cervical discitis, spondylitis and spondylodiscitis in chronic polyarthritis]. / Zervikale Discitis, Spondylitis und Spondylodiscitis bei chronischer Polyarthritis.

All varieties of inflammatory rheumatoid arthritis may involve the cervical spine. After progressive destruction and narrowing of the intervertebral disks, spondylitis and spondylodiscitis results in subluxation and fusion of vertebral bodies and square anterior corners. These varieties of vertebral body involvements are described.

CT of the main ligaments of the cervico-occipital hinge.

The results of a CT-anatomical correlative study of the main ligaments of the cervico-occipital hinge are reported. CT criteria of normal ligamentous structure of this region are presented in axial, coronal and sagittal views with a special attention to the transverse ligament of the Atlas. Examples of pathological transverse ligaments are illustrated and emphasis is laid upon the better statement CT allows in such cases.

[Cortical fissures in Paget's disease]. / Fissures corticales de la maladie de Paget.

Cortical bone fissures in Paget's disease develop on the convex surfaces of the femur or tibia. They may be present in large numbers, but this is not related to the degree of diaphysial curvature. The presenting symptom is pain. The course is usually towards recovery though a total fracture may rarely occur. Degeneration is never observed.

Syndesmo-odontoid joint and calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate deposition disease (CPPD).

Twenty-seven patients with definite or probable CPPS have been investigated with systematic frontal and lateral tomograms of the cervicooccipital region. In 12 cases there were calcifications of the syndesmo-odontoid region. These calcifications are of two different types: linear calcifications (5 cases) and mottled calcifications (7 cases). The anatomic location of these calcifications is the transverse ligament or other structures of the syndesmo-odontoid joint. Although this type of calcification has already been described in other rheumatic diseases, it must lead to search for CPPD in the usual locations.

Positive arthrography of the craniocervical joints.

The configuration of the articular cavities of the cervico-occipital region have been demonstrated by an experimental technic of positive contrast arthrography in postmortem specimens.
