RESUMO

This paper presents statistical data of 2012-2015 on the diseases caused by the atmospheric air and water pollutions in Ajara region. The research on the content of dust, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide as well as carbon monoxide in the atmospheric air was held together with the National Environment Agency Ajara Monitoring Service. The results of the research have shown that the average content of the dust reached its maximum in 2012 (0.60 mg/m3) and it dropped to the minimum in 2015 (0.441 mg/m3). As for average content of carbon monoxide the maximum was observed in 2013 (3.1 mg/m3) and minimum in 2015 (2.1 mg/m3). Average content of the sulfur dioxide was at maximum in 2015 (0.159 mg/m3) and at minimum in 2012 (0.07 mg/m3). The average content of nitrogen dioxide reached its maximum in 2015 (0.153 mg/m3) and was found to be at its minimum in 2012 (0.13 mg/m3). In parallel statistical research of the registered diseases (chronic and undetermined bronchitis, asthma, allergic rhinitis and trachea/bronchi/lung malignant cancer) in Ajara during 2012-2015 has been performed. These diseases were especially common among the population over the age of 40. It may be concluded that in 2015 the cases of diseases caused by the atmospheric air pollution in Ajara have become more frequent compared to the previous years. Therefore, it is evident that monitoring of atmosphere air should be improved and corresponding preventive measures should be undertaken.

RESUMO

Erythrocytic group antigens represent a genetically stably determined trait. Investigation of antigens of the said system in different regions is of the greatest importance in terms of both the creation of demographic data of the region as well as practical medicine, especially for transplantology and transfusiology. The peripheral or venous blood of 232 local natives (healthy donors) of Ozurgeti district of Guria region has been taken as the test subject. The test subject was taken by random methods in different vilifies (Bakhvi, Mshvidobauri, Ozurgeti, Likhauri, Gurianta, Bokhvauri, Dvadzu, Pampaleti) To identify the ABO, Rh-Hr, Kell, MN system antigens, an express-method using monoclonal antibodies has been applied. In studying the ABO system, it was fixed that the highest distribution frequency was characteristic of the 0(I) group (52.3±3.2%), then follows the group A(II) (38.5±3.2%). The distribution frequency of the B(III) group is (8.2±1.8%) and that of AB(IV)--(0.8±0.5). The population's 85.2±2.32% is the carrier of the Rh+ phenotypic group, while 14.7±2.3% belongs to the Rh-phenotypic group. In studying the concentration of alleles, the low concentration of p(K) allele was detected that equaled 0.2; the concentration of q(K) allele made 0.8, that of p(M)--0.65, and that of q (N) - 035.

RESUMO

The main aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of hCG synthesis during malignant gynecological tumors and establish the level of tolerance against hCG in malignant and benign tumors. We have examined peripheral blood of 86 patients with malignant and benign tumors of reproductive system and healthy donors, aged 42-65 for detection of anti-hCG auto-antibodies and possibility of hCG synthesis. Investigation have shown that in case of malignant tumors as auto-antibody concentration is low and hCG level is high, hCG plays a role of autocrine growth factor for tumor cells and maintains the malignancy and tumor growth. The existence of auto-antibody indicates that immune system is not completely tolerant to hCG. During studies on the effectiveness of anti-tumor vaccine, this fact should be taken into consideration.

RESUMO

Energy metabolism was studied in experiments on rats with due regard for the individual features of the organism's reaction to trauma. The animals were divided into 2 subgroups according to the survival period during the experiment. Disorders of mitochondrial function were revealed in both subgroups, but they differed in degree according to the severity of the process. Preliminary injection of the antioxidant ionol prolonged the animals' survival and prevented disorders of mitochondrial function. The article discusses the possibility of preventing activation of free-radical oxidation of the membrane lipids and removal of their damaging effect on the mitochondria with ionol.

RESUMO

The authors studied the mechanisms of disorders of energy provision of myocardial contractility in rabbits in hemorrhagic shock and appraised the efficacy of a new Soviet-produced agent dalargin possessing an antiadrenergic property. It is shown that dalargin exerts a significant effect on the condition of the cardiovascular system and the function of the myocardial mitochondria (MC). The effect differed depending on the time of the injection and the condition of the organism. Increase of the heart contractive function, improvement of MC function, and prolonged survival of the animals were encountered only in rabbits who received dalargin 30 minutes after blood loss. The mechanisms of the effects of dalargin in acute blood loss are discussed.

RESUMO

The changes in the oxidative metabolism of rabbit myocardium in hemorrhagic shock were studied. The external pathway of NADH oxidation was shown to be activated, while the rates of glutamate oxidation in the presence of an uncoupler were diminished as compared to control values. These changes are probably due to the activation of phospholipase A2 and lipid peroxidation, since their inhibitors eliminate with the same efficiency the activation of the external pathway of NADH oxidation both in normal and damaged myocardium.

RESUMO

Essential features of the methods and results of an automated system-analytic investigation procedure with well-defined psychic load are described. This was developed with the aim of recognizing disturbances in the psychophysiological system behaviour as premorbid stages of the most important cardiovascular diseases. Results thus obtained show a.o. that healthy subjects and patients suffering from ischemic heart disease can be classified with high reliability according to their psychophysiological system behaviour. A differentiation could be obtained as well on the basis of personality characteristics. The results support the hypothesis underlying the development of this procedure.

RESUMO

The state of energy exchange on the basis of respiratory chain reactions of myocardial mitochondria and contractility of bundles of glycerinated muscle fibers in traumatic shock, were investigated. The mitochondria isolated from animal myocardium at the terminal stage of traumatic shock were found to be capable to carry out oxidative phosphorylation at the level typical for healthy animal mitochondria. Parallel tensometric analyses of contractility of bundles of glycerinated muscle fibers showed that in rats and dogs with traumatic shock the most pronounced changes occur in isometric tension and specific power. At the same time relative fiber shortening under isotonic conditions is insignificantly reduced.

RESUMO

Spontaneous slow potentials with amplitude ranging from 25 mcV to 1.3 mV and wave duration from 600 to 6000 msec was recorded in the receptive area of the ciliary body. The same potentials persisted even 15--20 min after the death of animal in the enucleative eye as well as in the isolated preparation of the ciliary body with sclera. The rise of the intraocular pressure up to 30--35 mm Hg augments the potentials whereas further rise up to 45 mm Hg and more suppresses them. Electrostimulation acts in a similar way: square pulses of 25 mcV augment the potentials' amplitude whereas the 250 mcV pulses reduce it.
