RESUMO

The composition of phospholipids and fatty acids of erythrocyte lipids of intact mature Wistar rats and their progeny in the age of 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 60, 90 and 110 days was studied with the methods of micro-thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography. Sex features and age mechanism of erythrocyte lipids composition forming in physiologically standard conditions were established. The fact that the composition of erythrocyte lipids of the untreated grown-up male rats in comparison with the female species is characterised with a lower concentration of phosphatidylinositol, a higher level of phosphatidylcholine and sphingomyelin, a higher saturation level of molecular types of phospholipids, was described. Three age periods of homeostasis of the erythrocyte lipids of the intact rats were distinguished. The postembryonic period (30-40 days after birth) is characterised with forming of the basic pool of erythrocyte lipids: getting to the stability in levels of the basic components of phospholipids and their fatty acids, coming out of phosphatidylinositol by the 40th day after birth. The period of sex-growing (60 days) is accompanied by spasmodic changes in the levels of fatty acids which is most common for female species: rapid increase in saturated and omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, decrease in monoene and omega 6 polyene fatty acids. The period of maturity (110 days) is characterised by a slow metabolism of structural lipids and a stabilisation of their composition.

RESUMO

The possibility of using some erythrocyte fatty acids relations describing their metabolic interconversion for predicting efficiency of the omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid diet has been justified. This method can be used to judge the individual sensitivity of patients with ischemic heart disease to diet treatment.

RESUMO

Erythrocyte phospholipids (FL) composition and their elements polyunsaturated fatty acids of omega-6 and omega-3 type were studied in the course of combined balneotherapy of neurocirculatory dystonia and ischemic heart disease (IHD) patients. The balneological factors promoted FL concentration normalization under positive dynamics in clinical symptoms in 62% of patients with neurocirculatory dystonia. The modulating effect occurred in IHD only in those patients who, in addition to balneotherapy, took alimentary omega-3 fatty acids made of sea products as food additives. The intensity of the FL and fatty acid modification to the end of the treatment was related to the severity of the baseline metabolic abnormalities.

RESUMO

The results of 4-year monitoring of men with hereditary history of ischemic heart disease are presented. The examinees were divided into two groups: a group of diet correction with alimentary omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) extracted from Far Eastern sardine oil and a control group which did not take part in the preventive treatment. The composition of fatty acids of erythrocytes of men from the study and control groups was analyzed in the course of preventative treatment, 3, 6 months and 4 years after it. It has been proved that the progress of disorder in composition of fatty acids in men can be stopped by using alimentary omega-3 PUFA.

RESUMO

The state of the system lipid peroxidation-antioxidant defense (LPO-AOD) was studied in 187 patients with ischemic heart disease on combined balneorehabilitation. The balneotherapy comprised effervescent magnesium-calcium and effervescent arsenic mineral water, artificial baths. Balneorehabilitation produced optimal results in high functional capacity of LPO-AOD system. In low functional activity of the system LPO-AOD balneological procedures may impair adaptive mechanisms and provoke balneoreactions. Combination of balneofactors with diet including polyunsaturated fatty acids enhanced antioxidant blood activity and modified LPO.

RESUMO

Examining the biochemical processes in the rehabilitative period after diseases of vascular and inflammatory genesis showed it expedient to identify an asymptomatic postclinical period of disease as an independent stage of metabolic remission. The guideline for assessing the completeness of metabolic processes was to study such indices reflecting the nonspecific pathological and etiological essence of diseases as erythrocytic phospholipids and fatty acids, as well as indices of the lipid peroxidation-antioxidative defense system, a lysosomal enzyme beta-glucosidase, uric acid and hydroxyproline. The duration of an asymptomatic postclinical stage was found to be determined by the time of completeness of metabolic processes and to be 3-12 months after the onset of clinical recovery.

RESUMO

The paper presents the results of investigations of primary disturbances in the composition of phospholipids (PLs) and fatty acids (FAs) of erythrocytic lipids in young males at the preclinical stage of coronary heart disease (CHD). One hundred and twenty-nine males were examined. The examines were divided into three groups: (1) healthy subjects without CHD risk factors; (2) patients with prior myocardial infarction and (3) subjects suspected for CHD risk factors (aggravated hereditary and/or smoking). Primary signs of disturbances in the erythrocytic lipid component in Group 3 subjects. The differences in the levels of some PLs, individual FAs and FA families were found to correspond to the disturbances in Group 2 patients, but they were less profound. The changes in the composition of FA in Group 3 males suggest lipid metabolic disturbances, which is a risk factor for CHD.

RESUMO

A method for serial measurements of blood serum acid DNAse (3.1.4.5) and acid RNAse (3.1.4.23). The authors recommend measurements of acid nucleases at clinical biochemistry laboratories and use of these parameters for the prediction of outcomes of balneotherapy and other treatment modalities.

RESUMO

The authors review the experience gained in search for the prognostic and diagnostic criteria of coronary heart disease and its various forms. They recommend using the index of red blood cell fatty acid unsaturation as the characteristic, indicating liability to coronary disease; lysosomal beta-glucosidase activity for assessment of the severity of myocardial injury; simultaneous measurements of hydroxyproline and uric acid for estimation of the completeness of cicatrization and of the myocardial injury severity; and the fatty acid unsaturation index and hydroxyproline level for the assessment of the efficacy of rehabilitation measures.

RESUMO

Lipid metabolism has been examined in coronary patients from the content of the blood serum phospholipid fractions during exposure to the health resort factors at the South of the Primorye territory. Qualitative composition of phospholipids included 5 fractions, i.e. phosphatidylcholine, sphingomyelin, lysophosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylinosite. Decreased levels of phosphatidylcholine and elevated concentrations of lysophosphatidylcholine and sphingomyelin have been detected in the patients. No differences in the concentrations of phospholipid fractions in patients with extensive and small-focus myocardial infarctions have been observed. Patients with repeated myocardial infarctions in the history have developed drastic changes in lipid metabolism, i.e. abnormal levels of phosphatidylcholine, lysophosphatidylcholine, and sphingomyelin. Lipid metabolism parameters have not normalized in coronary patients in the course of health resort treatment.

RESUMO

Lipid metabolism was studied in 49 patients with chronic non-specific pulmonary diseases. The judgement about lipid metabolism was formed on the basis of changes in the content of phospholipid (PL) fractions in the patients' blood serum under the influence of health resort treatment. PL were separated by micro-thin-layer chromatography. They included five fractions: phosphatidylcholine (PC), sphingomyelin (SM), lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidylinositol (PI). The patients with chronic non-specific pulmonary diseases showed a significant decrease in the PC level and a rise of SM, LPC and PI. In the course of health resort treatment, lipid metabolism in the patients did not return to normal. The tendency towards normalization was observed only by the sixth month after rehabilitation treatment. The changes discovered are of diagnostic importance and can be used in the assessment of the efficacy of health resort treatment aimed at the removal of the inflammatory process in the lungs.
