RESUMO

As the most common nonlinear optical process, second harmonic generation (SHG) has important application value in the field of nanophotonics. With the rapid development of metal nanomaterial processing and chemical preparation technology, various structures based on metal nanoparticles have been used to achieve the enhancement and modulation of SHG. In the field of nonlinear optics, plasmonic metal nanostructures have become potential candidates for nonlinear optoelectronic devices because of their highly adjustable physical characteristics. In this article, first, the basic optical principles of SHG and the source of surface symmetry breaking in metal nanoparticles are briefly introduced. Next, the related reports on SHG in metal nanostructures are reviewed from three aspects: the enhancement of SHG efficiency by double resonance structures, the SHG effect based on magnetic resonance and the harmonic energy transfer. Then, the applications of SHG in the sensing, imaging and in situ monitoring of metal nanostructures are summarized. Future opportunities for SHG in composite systems composed of metal nanostructures and two-dimensional materials are also proposed.

RESUMO

The rational optimization of the electromagnetic field enhancement and charge transfer in a Raman substrate is vital for achieving efficient surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). Herein, a ternary plasmonic substrate, whose structure-adjustable Au nanotriangle/Cu2O hybrids are combined with two-dimensional Ti3C2Tx MXene ultrathin nanosheets, is prepared and used for efficient SERS detection of molecules. By controlling the growth of Cu2O on Au nanotriangles, Au/Cu2O hybrids with three tips exposed are prepared, which show much better SERS performance than bare Au and core-shell Au@Cu2O in detecting methylene blue (MB) under excitation at 785 nm due to the optimized electromagnetic field enhancement and charge transfer. Furthermore, the Au/Cu2O hybrids are transferred to the plasmonic Ti3C2Tx nanosheet, generating a further enhanced electromagnetic field around their interfaces. As a result, the MXene/Au/Cu2O hybrids present further improved SERS activity, and their analytical enhancement factor reaches 2.4 × 109 and the detection limit is as low as 10-12 M. The enhancement mechanism can be ascribed to the improved electric field enhancement around the Au tips and the interface between MXene and Au/Cu2O. Meanwhile, the multiple charge-transfer processes between Au, Cu2O, MXene, and MB also play an important role in improving the SERS signal.

RESUMO

Although the deubiquitinase cylindromatosis (CYLD), an abundant protein in the postsynaptic density fraction, plays a crucial role in mediating the synaptic activity of the striatum, the precise molecular mechanism remains largely unclear. Here, using a Cyld-knockout mouse model, we demonstrate that CYLD regulates dorsolateral striatum (DLS) neuronal morphology, firing activity, excitatory synaptic transmission, and plasticity of striatal medium spiny neurons via, likely, interaction with glutamate receptor 1 (GluA1) and glutamate receptor 2 (GluA2), two key subunits of alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid receptors (AMPARs). CYLD deficiency reduces levels of GluA1 and GluA2 surface protein and increases K63-linked ubiquitination, resulting in functional impairments both in AMPAR-mediated excitatory postsynaptic currents and in AMPAR-dependent long-term depression. The results demonstrate a functional association of CYLD with AMPAR activity, which strengthens our understanding of the role of CYLD in striatal neuronal activity.

RESUMO

Noble metal nanomaterials have many excellent optical properties due to localized surface plasmon resonance induced by external electric and magnetic fields. The plasmon-enhanced optical properties of nanomaterials can be controlled by changing their shapes or compositions. Here, we use a gentle approach to synthesize Au/PbS/Au nanostars with multiple tips and explore the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity, the second harmonic generation (SHG), and photocatalytic performance. The Au/PbS/Au nanostars have ultrabroad spectral responses and significantly enhanced local electric fields near the sharp tips. The size and tip length of the Au/PbS/Au nanostars can be adjusted by changing the amount of HAuCl4. The Au/PbS/Au nanostars exhibit largely enhanced SERS activity and photocatalytic degradation efficiency compared with the Au bipyramids and the Au BPs@PbS nanocrystals. In addition, the SHG of Au/PbS/Au nanostars is also significantly enhanced due to asymmetry and local field enhancement. This research shows potential in many applications ranging from photophysics to photochemistry.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: Cataract surgery in patients with nanophthalmos is complicated for ophthalmologists to perform. Due to the unique ocular anatomy, there is a high incidence of complex complications such as angle-closure glaucoma, fluid misdirection syndrome, and uveal effusion syndrome (UES) in the perioperative period of cataract surgery. This article will discuss the management options for cataract surgery in nanophthalmic eyes and complications. METHODS: This review is searched through PubMed, focusing on articles published in the past 20 years. Articles were reviewed on the anatomical structure of nanophthalmic cataracts, the pathogenesis of complications, the selection of intraocular lenses, and surgical methods. CONCLUSION: There is a strong correlation between abnormal ocular anatomy and complications in patients with nanophthalmos. Clinicians must not only select the appropriate intraocular lens formula based on the depth of the anterior chamber but also formulate personalized surgical methods based on its unique anatomical structure to avoid complications.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the effects of estradiol (E2) on alleviating myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury through estrogen receptorß(ERß) mediated extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK) pathway activation. Methods: Eighty-four adult female SD rats were ovariectomized and randomly divided into control group, NC siRNA adeno-associated virus (AAV) group received sham operation, the myocardial I/R injury model was prepared by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery in I/R group, E2+I/R group, NC siRNA AAV+I/R group, NC siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group and ERß-siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group. E2+I/R group, NC siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group and ERß-siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group were treated with E2 0.8 mg/kg by gavage for 60 days before modeling. NC siRNA AAV+I/R group, NC siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group, and ERß-siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group were treated with AAV by caudal vein injection 24 h before modeling. After 120 min of reperfusion, the contents of serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), phosphocreatine kinase (CK), phosphocreatine kinase isoenzyme (CK-MB), myocardial infarction area and the expressions of ERß, p-ERK, the contents of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1ß(IL-1 ß), malondialdehyde (MDA) and total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) in myocardium were measured. Results: The contents of serum LDH, CK, CK-MB, myocardial infarction area and the contents of TNF-α, IL-1 ß, MDA in myocardium of I/R group were higher than those of the control group, the expression levels of ERß and p-ERK and the content of T-AOC were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The contents of serum LDH, CK and CK-MB, myocardial infarction area and the contents of TNF-α, IL-1 ß and MDA in myocardium of E2+I/R group were lower than those of the I/R group, the expression levels of ERß and p-ERK and the content of T-AOC were higher than those of the I/R group(P<0.05). After knockdown ERß by caudal vein injection of ERß-siRNA AAV, the contents of serum LDH, CK and CK-MB, myocardial infarction area and the contents of TNF-α, IL-1 ß and MDA in myocardium of ERß-siRNA AAV+E2+I/R group were higher than those of NC-siRNA AAV+E2+I/R, the expression levels of ERß and p-ERK and the content of T-AOC were lower than those of NC-siRNA AAV+E2+I/R(P<0.05). Conclusion: E2 has protective effects on myocardial I / R injury in ovariectomized rats, which are related to the promotion of ERß mediating the activation of ERK pathway, reducing inflammatory and oxidative stress responses.
