RESUMO

Hemangioendothelioma of the liver and spleen with similar affection of the organs resembling a bloody sponge was diagnosed histologically in men of 35 and 59 years. Microscopically, the structure of the tumour presented a picture of multiple ugly vascular fissures and cavities lined with atypical polymorphous endothelial cells not infrequently transformed into giant cells with hyperchronic nuclei. Impregnation of the sections with silver nitrate according to Gomori revealed an irregular vascular network and facilitated the recognition of the true nature of the disease.

RESUMO

Clinical and morphological observations of choriocarcinoma in infants of 6 and 18 months localized in the right lateral ventricle of the brain and in the sacralcoccygeal region are presented. The grounds for verification of the heterotopic tumor include the presence of one large degenerating node in the sacral-coccygeal region and the absence of neoplasia in the central nervous system, its typical histological characteristics corresponding to choriocarcinoma as well as extensive metastasizing along the lymph tracts. The dysontogenetic nature of the tumor is suggested. The difficulties of the clinical and histological diagnosis are due to the rarity of choriocarcinoma and heterotopic localization.

RESUMO

Ultrastructural changes in the liver were studied on the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 8th days of the disease in random-bred dogs with induced diffuse microbial peritonitis. As early as on the 1st day of the disease considerable changes of hepatocytes, hepatic stroma, microcirculatory and bile tracts were detected. Dystrophic and necrobiotic changes in hepatic cells were most marked at 4-8 days of the disease. By the end of the 2nd day the edema of the hepatic stroma subsided, but subsequently it increased markedly. In microcirculatory tracts of the liver and greatest changes were found at 4-8 days in lymphatic capillaries, up to their complete blocking.
