RESUMO

Present worldwide healthcare researches prove that female patients are more sensitive to the population aging. Menopause or climacteria (climax) - is not as ageing itself, but a physiological unstoppable process. The main task for a physician is to improve life quality for female despite of ageing problems. Menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) due to the estrogen component has an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effect and promotes the expression of telomerase, which together changes the homeostasis and integrity of telomeres. The use of MHT for five years or more can not only significantly change the quality of life, but also increase its duration. Literature search was carried out in national (eLibrary, CyberLeninka.ru) and international (PubMed, Cochrane Library) databases in Russian and English. The priority was free access to the full text of articles. The choice of sources was prioritized for the period from 2019 to 2021. However, taking into account the insufficient knowledge of the chosen topic, the choice of sources dates back to 1989.

RESUMO

The paper gives development quotients in 5-6-year-old children from the North-Western Administrative District of Moscow, which were obtained from the survey made in 2005. Only 41.9% of the boys and 30.7% of the girls were ascertained to have no physical developmental deviations. The major problem of childhood development is the underdevelopment of the functional parameters of the locomotor apparatus and respiratory system. The physical development is significantly worse in the girls than that in the boys in the majority of integral indices.

RESUMO

Complex examination of changes in some structural and metabolic values in intact dogs after a single infusion of autoplasma irradiated with ultraviolet rays suggests that mobilization of the system of antioxidant protection, inducing a specific reorganisation of the metabolic system, is the trigger mechanism of the organism's adaptation reaction.

RESUMO

Apical periodontitis was simulated in 100 white rats with secondary immunodeficiency induced by a single total x-ray irradiation with the RUM [correction of PYM]-17 device. Nonspecific resistance of the rat body was assessed from the neutrophilic phagocytic activity, serum bactericidal activity, lysozyme and complement levels. These parameters were found reduced in the experimental animals; x-ray examinations revealed changes round the dental root apices. Daily injections of tactivin for 10 days in a dose 2-5 mg/kg b.m. resulted in elevation of the nonspecific resistance parameters, and the x-ray picture in this group of animals was the same as in intact controls; therefore, tactivin normalized the immunity system status and indirectly improved the clinical course of apical periodontitis.

RESUMO

The results of experimental morphologic studies carried out in 23 dogs evidence that the status of the denture bed tissue beneath a whole-cast bridge cermet denture depends on the tightness of the denture adhesion to the gingival mucosa. If the denture poorly adheres to its bed, no marked changes in the structural components of the gingiva and the underlying bone support are detectable. If the denture adheres tightly to the gingiva, marked inflammatory dystrophic and destructive changes develop both in the gingiva and in the alveolar crest bone tissue. A complex of structural changes in the epithelium, connective tissue base of the gingival mucosa, and alveolar bone crest were traced. The results evidence that inflammatory dystrophic changes in the gingiva augment and result in the development of erosive ulcerative elements in the gingiva in case of a prolonged tight adhesion of the denture to the denture bed; sometimes decubital ulcers may develop in the gingiva. The resorptive processes take place in the underlying bone tissue, causing like smooth resorption of bone matter or to lacunar resorption. Diffuse rarification of bone tissue is also typical of such cases. Excessive pressure of the denture body in case of its tight adhering to denture bed seems to be detrimental not only for the epithelium, but for deeper structures of the gingival mucosa and the underlying bone structures as well.

RESUMO

Apical periodontitis was induced in 24 mongrel dogs (16 experimental and 8 reference ones) over the course of total x-ray exposure. Analysis of clinical and physiologic data, hematologic parameters, and roentgenograms of the jaws of the two animal groups has shown the development of immunodeficiency state in the experimental animals due to exposure to ionizing irradiation in a dose of 1.5 Gy and an earlier development of destruction foci in bone tissue with diffuse involvement of the dental apexes.

RESUMO

Adrenal reactivity of the circulation and of several metabolic and regulatory systems, which had been induced by narcosis and surgical trauma, was studied on 50 mongrel dogs. Operative trauma (thoracotomy) done under thiopental sodium narcosis was accompanied with the moderately elevated adrenal reactivity of the circulation and essentially unchanged metabolic processes. Changes in the cardiac contractility and pump function induced by catecholamines are mediated through cardiac and vascular beta-adrenergic mechanism. These metabolic changes are determined by the state of adrenergic mechanisms. At the same time there is no distinct correlation between these changes and beta-adrenoreceptor state.

RESUMO

The increase of the concentration of fatty acids, the reduction in the concentration of serotonin, the lowering of the activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and transketolase, and the development of compensated metabolic acidosis were discovered in the stage that preceded strophanthine arrhythmia. These characteristics may be recommended for a wider use on the clinical basis for predicting arrhythmias in the treatment of cardiac glycosides.
