RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Existing evidence supports the effectiveness of exercise in preventing and treating chronic diseases, yet its integration into clinical practice remains limited. This study protocol aims to address the evidence-practice gap by exploring barriers to exercise prescription in primary care and developing a clinical practice guideline (CPG). METHODS: Employing a qualitative approach, focus groups will be conducted to investigate primary care professionals' challenges in prescribing exercise and patients' adherence to recommendations. Phenomenological analysis will facilitate data interpretation. Data triangulation, expert analysis, and quality criteria will ensure study reliability. The CPG development process is outlined, emphasizing transdisciplinary collaboration and patient involvement. CONCLUSION: The RedExAP study responds to the imperative for evidence-based exercise integration in primary care. The study's combined qualitative exploration and CPG development present the potential to improve health outcomes and cost-effectiveness. By elucidating primary care professionals' and patients' perspectives, the study contributes to enhancing exercise prescription adoption. The innovative transdisciplinary approach aligns with the 2030 Agenda, promoting better population health and greater social well-being, showing promise in alleviating chronic disease burdens. This study's findings lay the groundwork for advancing evidence-based exercise interventions within primary care to transform chronic disease management.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The Spanish population presents higher levels of loneliness than citizens of countries in Northern Europe. Numerous studies have linked loneliness to increased morbidity and mortality, but very few studies have associated loneliness with healthy lifestyles. The objectives of this research are to identify the feeling of unwanted loneliness in various age and gender groups in the city of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, Spain), to determine lifestyle habits in the areas of diet and physical exercise, and to examine the association between lifestyle habits and perceived loneliness. METHODS: A cross-sectional, observational and analytical study on the perception of loneliness among men (59.06%) and women (60.06%) in a sample (n = 611) of the general population (N = 198,945), by means of random assignment of a health survey, was conducted. The data were collected using an ad hoc questionnaire. The data were stratified and analyzed with the IBM SSPS® v.25 software package. RESULTS: The frequency of loneliness is stratified by sex and age, and healthy lifestyle habits in terms of diet and physical exercise are analyzed. CONCLUSIONS: People with perceived loneliness do not have worse lifestyle habits. However, women living with other people have a higher perception of loneliness than those living alone. Specifically, the perception of loneliness in young adult women could suggest a low level of moderate physical exercise.

The progress and transformation of nursing care in the middle of the XXI century, attached to the process of globalisation and social development itself, entail changes in education, training and qualification of nurses. As a result, professionals are more and more competent, efficient and with autonomy enough as to meet the various needs for care and the demand for health and welfare of the people, families and social groups. In the field of mental health care practice, there are evident initiatives of transformation in the health system, which ought to be driven by customers, aimed at recovery, evidence-based and directed towards collaborative and coordinated care and assistance systems. Within this process of transformation, and as an advanced competency of nurse specialists, Nurse Psychotherapy has consolidated the contribution, commitment and social value of nursing care. The aim of this article is to shed light on how Nurse Psychotherapy has developed since its inception as a framework for specialized, professional mental health care. Beginning with its international conceptualisation, it then drifts to the proposal promoted by the Spanish Mental Health Nursing Association (AEESME) for its implementation in the portfolio of healthcare Services of the Spanish National Health System
