RESUMO
We report a case of undifferentiated small cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder in a 64-year-old male patient. Microscopically the tumor was similar to the intermediate type of small cell carcinoma of the lung, with some foci of transitional papillary carcinoma, adenocarcinoma and carcinoma in situ. Small cell carcinoma is seldom encountered in the urinary bladder. It is more aggressive and must be distinguished from poorly differentiated transitional cell carcinoma.

We report on a 50-year-old male patient who presented with a scrotal mass which he had noted two years earlier. Ultrasound revealed a well-defined, regular, paratesticular mass. Pathological examination of the surgical specimen revealed abundant lipoblasts and a stroma with myxoid changes, prompting a diagnosis of myxoid liposarcoma of the spermatic cord. Liposarcoma is a rare tumor of the spermatic cord which frequently metastasizes to the lumbar retroperitoneal lymph nodes. The foregoing characteristic and the histologic features of the tumor type influence treatment.

Pustulotic arthro-osteitis is a rare syndrome manifested by palmo-plantar pustulosis and abnormalities involving the anterior chest wall, the spine, the sacroiliac and peripheral joints. We present the case of a patient with pustulotic arthro-osteitis who developed pyoderma gangrenosum. We believe this association has not been previously described in the literature.

A case of carcinoid tumor of the appendix with "signet ring" cells pattern and asymptomatic clinical course is presented. The tumor was detected during a Bilroth I gastrectomy procedure. Mucin-secreting cells with cytoplasms often containing argentaffin and argyrophil granules was the predominant histologic pattern. Lack of neuron-specific enolase activity and their positivity for lysozyme and EMA marker indicate an origin from crypt cell and not a neural crest source. After simple appendectomy, the patient was healthy 3 years following surgery.
