RESUMO

Se realizó un análisis cualitativo y descriptivo sobre la caracterización epistemológica del proceso de formación de psicólogos en la salud en Cuba, como respuesta a una necesidad social del país. En este estudio se enfatiza en la sistematización de la relación dialéctica entre los contenidos biológicos y sociales en el desarrollo humano, por cuya importancia para comprender la conducta individual y social se convierten en básicos de la profesión. El análisis y la interpretación de los datos obtenidos revelaron que el proceso formativo del psicólogo cubano ha evolucionado favorablemente según las corrientes mundiales más actuales, lo cual implica un desarrollo sostenido acorde con las necesidades sociales. Se establecen las principales tendencias relacionadas con la dialéctica de los contenidos sociobiológicos en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de los aspectos básicos de la profesión durante la formación profesional del psicólogo, con el uso de los métodos histórico- lógico y de análisis-síntesis correspondientes(AU)


A qualitative and descriptive analysis of epistemological characterization of the psychologists' career training in health in Cuba was carried out in response to a social need of the country. In this study the systematization of the dialectical relationship between the biological and social contents in human development is emphasized, which by their importance to understand the individual and social behavior become essentials of the profession. Analysis and interpretation of data obtained revealed that Cuban psychologist's career training has evolved favorably according to the latest global trends, which means a sustained development in keeping with social needs. The main trends related to the dialectics of social and biological contents are determined in the teaching-learning process of basics of the profession during psychologist's career training, using the respective logical and historical and analysis-synthesis methods(AU)

Se realizó un estudio cualitativo y descriptivo sobre la evolución histórica tendencial del proceso de formación del psicólogo en Cuba, con énfasis en la sistematización de los contenidos básicos de la profesión a partir de 1962 hasta 2011. Para ello se revisaron documentos y normativas relacionados con la redimensionalización de las funciones de este profesional en el sistema de salud cubano, pero igualmente se consideró necesario entrevistarse con varios profesores experimentados en la asistencia y la docencia de diferentes generaciones, así como también con estudiantes que se forman actualmente, incluidos en ese contexto los criterios del autor. El análisis y la interpretación de la información obtenida revelaron que el proceso formativo del psicólogo en el país ha evolucionado favorablemente, con una tendencia ascendente en su desarrollo. Se establecen las principales tendencias históricas en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de los contenidos básicos en la formación del mencionado profesional, con el uso de los métodos histórico-lógico y de análisis-síntesis(AU)


A qualitative and descriptive study was carried out on tendency of historical development of the psychologist's career training in Cuba, focusing on systematization of the profession basic contents from 1962 to 2011. With this purpose documents and regulations related to the redimensionalization of this professional's functions in the Cuban health system were reviewed, but it was also considered necessary to interview several teachers with experience in care and teaching from different generations, as well as students that are training today, including the author's criteria in this context. The analysis and interpretation of the obtained information revealed that the psychologist's career training in the country has evolved favorably with an upward tendency in its development. The main historical tendencies are established in the teaching-learning process of the basic contents in the career training of this professional, using analysis-synthesis and historical and logical methods(AU)

RESUMO

Objective: To distinguish Cuban children clinically referred because of ADHD from an at-risk community sample and a community control group in terms of symptoms, associated difficulties and impairment of family and peer relations. Method: Parents and teachers of 1,036 children (6-8 years old) completed an established ADHD rating scale and a behavioral screening measure, including peer functioning. We also administered a structured clinical interview and measures of family impairment to the clinical sample and to an at-risk community-based subsample. Results: Although both clinical and at-risk groups displayed more externalizing and internalizing symptoms than controls, referred children were not only characterized by higher levels of ADHD symptoms, but also by greater impairment of family and peer relations than at-risk community children or community controls. Conclusion: The findings suggest that ADHD has major consequences on the family and peer functioning of Cuban children, which may lead to their referral for treatment(AU)
