RESUMO

Iodine-bromine water from pit-hole of naphthalene layer was used in the daily water-bath treatment course of 22 rats within 10 days; after decapitation of these animals content of malonic dialdehyde and lipid hydroperoxides was estimated in homogenates of heart, lung, liver, kidney and spleen tissues. Simultaneous increase in the rate of lipoperoxidation was observed in the tissue homogenates of experimental animals. The treatment course with iodine-bromine water appears to activate the prostacyclin synthesis in vessel endothelium, thus suggesting the promising efficiency of the water in treatment of some blood rheology-related pathological states.

RESUMO

40 rabbits were used in the experiments, where 10 animals were in control group, and 3 groups of the animals were treated with naphthalene oil obtained from various pit-holes NN 39, 54 and 88. The treatment course included 10 applications of naphthalene oil, which was placed on lateral body surface, 10 x 10 cm, a dose of 1.0 ml/kg, within 10 min. A state of lipid peroxidation was evaluated by measurement of hydroperoxides, diene conjugates and malonic dialdehyde in rabbit blood. Some decrease in content of lipoperoxides was observed in rabbits after the course of naphthalene oil treatment and the oil from the pit-hole 54 exhibited the highest effect. These results may be involved in evaluation of the naphthalene oil medicinal effects as well as in working out recommendations to use the naphthalene oil not from usual reservoir, but namely from pit-hole 54 for treatment of patients with impaired lipid metabolism.

RESUMO

A total of 67 patients with obliterating atherosclerosis of the vessels of low extremities were followed up in the treatment at the Naphthalane health resort. The patients with the disease stages I, IIA and IIB were subjected to sitting and general naphthalane bath therapy. The studied patients were investigated for the values of the blood coagulation and functional abilities of thrombocytes before and after naphthalane treatment. Analysis of the results obtained demonstrated a favourable effect of naphthalane on hemostasis displaying hypocoagulative effect and improving the blood viscosity. The use of naphthalane as a multiprofile factor in the treatment of the aforementioned patients was found to be advisable and could be considered as a pathogenetic method of treatment for those suffering from this disease.

RESUMO

Fifty six patients with IHD and stenocardia, hypertensive disease were treated at the Naphthalan health resort. It was found that napthalane baths in the sitting position stimulate adaptation reserves of the body, improve the cardiac function, systemic and regional hemodynamics and may be used in the complex treatment of patients with obliterative atherosclerosis of the lower extremities including association of this disease with IHD and hypertension.

RESUMO

Native naphthalene oil was used for skin applications in 100 rabbits, resin-free naphthalene oil was used for skin applications in 30 rabbits and 50 animals were administered with resin-free naphthalene per os. Quantitative and qualitative alterations of individual fatty acids were estimated in rabbit blood plasma before and after these naphthalene treatments. Distinct decrease in content of lauric, myristic, pentadecanoic, palmitic, margarinic and stearic acids as well as increase of oleic, linoleic and arachidonic acids were observed after the treatment course consisting of 10 naphthalene procedures. The ratio of unsaturated/saturated fatty acids was increased after all the naphthalene treatments. The data obtained suggest that naphthalene therapy may be used in health resort treatment of some disorders related to impairment of lipid metabolism.

RESUMO

Shifts in the blood rheologic characteristics were examined in 50 children suffering from neurodermatitis during remission over the course of health resort treatment. The treatment included bromine electrophoresis of the collar area and therapeutic exercises. A clinical improvement was observed by the end of naphthalane therapy course. The examined parameters improved at the end of treatment in all the children.
