RESUMO

Self-melting ice asphalt pavement materials inhibit pavement freezing and improve driving safety. This paper aims to study the long-term salt release characteristics of self-melting ice asphalt mixtures and the impact on pavement after complete salt release. Firstly, a method to accelerate the rapid release of salt based on the Los Angeles abrasion tester. Then, long-term salt release patterns were elucidated under the influence of deicing agent dosage, type of asphalt, and type of gradation. Finally, a quantitative analysis of the pavement performance after complete salt release is conducted. The results indicate that the release efficiency of the Los Angeles abrasion tester method has increased by 91 times compared to the magnetic stirrer immersion flushing method and by 114 times compared to the natural soaking method. The SBS-modified self-melting ice asphalt mixture possesses a longer duration of salt release, but the uniformity of salt release is inferior. Salt release duration is directly proportional to the dosage of deicing agents. SMA-13 self-melting ice asphalt mixture exhibits poorer uniformity in salt release. After complete salt release, high-temperature stability of self-melting ice asphalt mixtures decreased by 31.6%, low-temperature performance decreased by 15.4%, water stability decreased by 26.7%, and fatigue life decreased by 35.9%.

RESUMO

Flexible and wearable pressure sensors have attracted extensive attention in domains, such as electronic skin, medical monitoring and human-machine interaction. However, developing a pressure sensor with high sensitivity, mechanical stability and a wide detection range remains a huge challenge. In this work, a flexible capacitive pressure sensor, based on a Ti3C2T x (MXene)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) composite nanofiber membrane (CNM), prepared via an efficient electrospinning process, is presented. The experimental results show that even a small mass fraction of MXene can effectively decrease the compression modulus of the PVP nanofiber membrane, thus enhancing the sensing performance. Specifically, the sensor based on (0.1 wt% MXene)/PVP CNM has a high sensitivity (0.5 kPa-1 at 0-1.5 kPa), a fast response/recovery time (45/45 ms), a wide pressure detection range (0-200 kPa), a low detection limit (∼9 Pa) and an excellent mechanical stability (8000 cycles). Due to its superior performance, the sensor can monitor subtle changes in human physiology and other signals, such as pulse, respiration, human joint motions and airflow. In addition, a 4 × 4 sensor array is fabricated that can accurately map the shape and position of objects with good resolution. The high-performance flexible pressure sensor, as developed in this work, shows good application prospects in advanced human-computer interface systems.

RESUMO

Apomixis refers to a process in which plants produce seed without fertilization through female syngamy that produces embryos genetically identical to the maternal parent. In sugar beet, interspecific hybrids between diploid Beta vulgaris and tetraploid Beta corolliflora were established and monosomic addition line M14 was selected because of the apomictic phenotype. By using two-dimensional electrophoresis gels we identified the proteins which were differently expressed between the M14 and B. vulgaris. A total of 27 protein spots which varied expressed between lines were isolated and successfully identified with MALDI-TOF MS. Among them five protein spots were found to be only presented in M14 and two protein spots only expressed in Beta. According to their functional annotations described in Swissprot database, these proteins were, respectively, involved in important biological pathways, such as cell division, functionally classified using the KEGG functional classification system. The result may be useful for us to better understand the genetic mechanism of apomixes.

RESUMO

Apomixis is a means of asexual reproduction by which plants produce embryos without fertilization and meiosis, therefore the embryo is of clonal and maternal origin. Interspecific hybrids between diploid B. vulgaris (2n=2x=18) and tetraploid B. corolliflora (2n=4x=36) were established, and then back-crossed with B. vulgaris. Among their offspring, monosomic addition line M14 (2n=2x=18+1) was selected because of the apomictic phenotype. We documented chromosome transmission from B. corolliflora into M14 by using genomic in situ hybridization (GISH). Suppression of cross-hybridization by blocking DNA was not necessary, indicating that the investigated Beta genome contains sufficient species-specific DNA, thus enabling the determination of genomic composition of the hybrids. We analyzed BAC microarrays of B. corolliflora chromosome 9 by using fluorescence-specific mRNA of B. vulgaris and Beta M14. BAC clones 16-M11 and 26-L15 were detected as fluorescence-specifics of BAC DNA of Beta M14. Then both BAC clones 16-M11 and 26-L15 were in situ hybridized to M14 chromosomes. The two hybridized BAC clones were located close to the telomere region of the long arm of a single chromosome 9, and showed hemizygosity. The results of BAC microarrays showed that these developments of embryo and endosperm have conservative expression patterns, indicating that sexual reproduction and apomixis have an interrelated pathway with common regulatory components and that the induction of a modified sexual reproduction program may enable the manifestation of apomixis in Beta species. It would be sufficient for the expression of apomixes with those apomictic-specific genes on chromosome 9 of B. corolliflora.

RESUMO

A plant-transformation-competent binary BAC library was constructed from the genomic DNA of the chromosome 9 monosomic addition line of Beta corolliflora Zoss. in sugar beet ( B. vulgaris. L). This monosomic addition line (designated M14) is characterized by diplosporic reproduction caused by the alien chromosome carrying the gene(s) responsible for diplospory. The library consists of 49,920 clones with an average insert size of 127 kb, representing approximately 7.5 haploid genome equivalents and providing a greater than 99% probability of isolating a single-copy DNA sequence from the library. To develop the scaffold of a physical map for the alien chromosome, B. corolliflora genome-specific dispersed repetitive DNA sequences were used as probes to isolate BAC clones derived from the alien chromosome in the library. A total of 2,365 positive clones were obtained and arrayed into a sublibrary specific for B. corolliflora chromosome 9 (designated bcBAC-IX). The bcBAC-IX sublibrary was further screened with a subtractive cDNA pool generated from the ovules of M14 and the floral buds of B. vulgaris by the suppression subtractive hybridization method. One hundred and three positive binary BACs were obtained, which potentially contain the genes of the alien chromosome specifically expressed during the ovule and embryo development of M14, and may be associated with apomictic reproduction. Thus, these binary BAC clones will be useful for identification of the genes for apomixis by genetic transformation.
