RESUMO

Acute Stanford type A aortic dissection with important branches involved is more complex, could lead to organ malperfusion syndrome even organ failure. The understanding of pathological anatomy, classification, staging, and the pathophysiological change has increasingly mature, but not complete. In addition, the treatment strategy for complex lesions is diversified, some questions may not reach consensus. Fully understanding of the anatomical and pathophysiology is very important for surgeons to choose reasonable treatment strategy. As the rapid development of the basic research, imaging techniques and the concept of surgery procedures, the manage technique of Stanfrod type A dissection and branch vessels at the same time is getting seriously, the related issues also need further discussions.

RESUMO

This work aimed to analyze the effect of deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) in young women. Twenty-seven cases of patients (below 38-years-old) diagnosed with DIE and admitted to the present hospital from January 2008 to July 2014 were reviewed, and their pre- and postoperative states of illness were summarized. The main preoperative symptoms included dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic pain, dyspareunia, nodule in rectouterine fossa, and reduced level of fertility. All patients underwent surgery (17 laparoscopies and ten laparotomies). Postoperative pathological explanation confirmed DIE in lesions. DIE significantly affects the health of young women.

RESUMO

During the past decade, the radial x-ray diffraction method using a diamond anvil cell (DAC) has been developed at the X17C beamline of the National Synchrotron Light Source. The detailed experimental procedure used with energy dispersive x-ray diffraction is described. The advantages and limitations of using the energy dispersive method for DAC radial diffraction studies are also discussed. The results for FeO at 135 GPa and other radial diffraction experiments performed at X17C are discussed in this report.

RESUMO

N-Hydroxymethyl-nicotinamide, an antimicrobic agent was prepared in good yield by treating nicotinamide with excess of formaldehyde in the presence of potassium carbonate. The condensation reaction was studied under different conditions, changing the amount of formaldehyde, with different kinds of bases and reaction time. The yield was 72.4% when the reaction was carried out using 3.0 g of nicotinamide, 5.0 ml of formaldehyde (36.8% aq. solution) and 0.03 g of potassium carbonate in boiling water bath for one hour. More than 5.0 ml of formaldehyde did not contribute to higher yield. The results showed that potassium carbonate was better than other bases, and one hour of reaction time was enough.
