RESUMO

The results of mammography, infrared thermography, cytology and histology are compared for 13 patients with secondary Hodgkin's disease and for 4 patients with primary and 9 with secondary Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. It was found, that an accurate diagnosis can be achieved only by cytology and histology

RESUMO

The authors present the results of breast examinations in 201 female patients controlled by cytology and histology. Based on their results obtained by an AGA 680 type infrared thermography, their conclusion was that the method is primarily suitable for the examination of biological thermogenesis, one of the functional characteristics of tumours. Some T1 breast cancer of the same histological type are thermographically "silent", i.e. display no pathological alterations. Thermographical signs characteristic of carcinomas are to be found only in 60-70% of the cases. It is explained by the biological heterogeneity of tumours, i.e. the amount of heat generated by the metabolic processes of the different carcinomas is not equal, as well as they are different in vascularization and as a consequence of it in their heat conduction parameters. Similar reasons explain the appearance of different thermographic patterns--negative or characteristic of cancerous alterations--in proliferative mastopathies.

RESUMO

The study using clinico-roentgenological data on 62 patients was concerned with the effectiveness of mammography in evaluating radiation response. Tumor regression was registered in 58 cases. Changes in the X-ray picture in the course and after treatment as well as X-ray signs of radiation injury are described. Mammography proved more reliable than clinical examination in evaluating the degree of tumor regression.

RESUMO

Authors report on bone metastases by 8 female patients with mamma carcinoma rarely occurring according to the literature. By the first patient a metastasis to the zygomatic bone and to the maxilla, by a second to the corpus mandibuale, by a third to the ascending branch of mandibula was encountered. The fourth patient showed metastasis at the distal end of radius and in the carpal bones, the fifth in the midthird part of tibial diaphysis, the sixth in the I, and II, cuneiform bone, the seventh in the carpal and metacarpal, tarsal and metatarsal bones respectively, the eighth in the calcaneus. In all the above cases previously metastases to other bones (as spine, pelvis etc.) have been noted. This means that in course of the disease the metastases of "rare localisation" appear in a later period.
