OBJECTIVE: Clinically amyopathic dermatomyositis (CADM) patients frequently develop refractory interstitial lung disease (ILD), with a poor prognosis. We aimed to verify the efficacy and safety of plasma exchange (PE) treatment for ILD in CADM. METHOD: A retrospective case-control study was conducted to compare clinical outcomes with and without PE treatment in CADM-ILD patients refractory to combination therapy of high-dose glucocorticoids, calcineurin inhibitors, and cyclophosphamide. Among 19 enrolled patients, 11 were further treated with PE. We compared survival rates and other clinical characteristics. PE consisted of either fresh-frozen plasma or albumin as a replacement solution. RESULTS: Basal clinical characteristics at diagnosis, including age, gender, serum ferritin, Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6), C-reactive protein, and respiratory function tests, did not differ between the two groups. The survival rate for treatment with PE was higher than for treatment without PE (91% and 50%, respectively, p < 0.05). Among PE-treated patients, anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene-5 (anti-MDA-5) antibody titre, ferritin, and KL-6 as serological activity markers were sustainably reduced only after initiating PE. Therapeutic intervention with PE reduced the frequency of exacerbation of ILD requiring methylprednisolone pulse therapy. The occurrence of bacterial, fungal, and cytomegalovirus infection did not differ between the groups with and without PE, and adverse events associated with PE resolved with appropriate intervention. CONCLUSION: Combination therapy with PE was associated with an improved survival rate, and may be effective for the management of refractory ILD in CADM patients. A personalized therapeutic strategy including PE could be introduced for fatal rapidly progressive ILD.

OBJECTIVE: Pregnant women may develop disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), possibly resulting in massive maternal haemorrhage and perinatal death. The Japan guideline recommends use of antithrombin III (ATIII) for DIC in obstetrics; however, its effect remains uncertain. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of ATIII for DIC in obstetrics, using a national inpatient database in Japan. DESIGN: Nationwide observational study. SETTING: Japan. POPULATION: We used the Diagnosis Procedure Combination inpatient database to identify patients who delivered at hospital and were diagnosed with DIC from July 2010 to March 2018. METHODS: Propensity score matching analyses were performed to compare in-hospital maternal mortality and hysterectomy during hospitalisation between users and non-users of ATIII on the day of delivery. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: In-hospital mortality, hysterectomy. RESULTS: A total of 9920 patients were enrolled, including 4329 patients (44%) who used ATIII and 5511 patients (56%) who did not use ATIII. One-to-one propensity score matching created 3290 pairs. In-hospital maternal mortality did not differ significantly between the propensity-matched groups (0.3% in the ATIII group versus 0.5% in the control group; odds ratio 0.73; 95% CI 0.35-1.54). A significantly lower proportion of patients in the ATIII group, compared with those in the control group, underwent hysterectomy during hospitalisation (5.3% versus 8.7%; absolute risk difference -2.9%; 95% CI -4.2 to -1.6%). CONCLUSIONS: Although the present study did not show a mortality-reducing effect of ATIII for patients with DIC in obstetrics, it may have clinical benefit in terms of reducing the number of patients undergoing hysterectomy. TWEETABLE ABSTRACT: This study did not show mortality-reducing effect of antithrombin III for patients with DIC in obstetrics.

Polymerizable bactericides, such as quaternary ammonium compound-based monomers, have been intensively studied as candidates for immobilizing antibacterial components on dental resin. However, they predominantly exhibit a bacteriostatic behavior, rather than bactericidal, as the immobilized components are left with insufficient molecular movement to disrupt the bacterial surface structure through contact-mediated action. In this study, we developed a novel strategy to increase the density of the immobilized bactericide and enhance its antibacterial/antibiofilm properties by combining a surface-grafting technique with electron beam irradiation. A solution of the quaternary ammonium compound-based monomer, 12-methacryloyloxydodecylpyridinium bromide (MDPB), was coated on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) resin specimens at the concentrations of 30, 50, and 80 wt%. The coated resins were subsequently exposed to 10 MeV of electron beam irradiation at 50 and 100 kGy, followed by thermal stabilization at 60 °C. The antibacterial effect was evaluated by inoculating a Streptococcus mutans suspension on the coated PMMA resin samples, which exhibited bactericidal effects even after 28 d of aging (P < 0.05, Tukey's honestly significant difference test). Transmission electron microscopy and bacteriolytic activity evaluation revealed that the S. mutans cells had sustained membrane depolarization. Furthermore, the antibiofilm effects against S. mutans and bacteria collected from human saliva were assessed. The thickness and the percentage of membrane-intact cells of the S. mutans and multispecies biofilms formed on the MDPB-immobilized surfaces were significantly lower than the uncoated PMMA specimens, even after 28-d aging (P< 0.05, Tukey's honestly significant difference test). Thus, the immobilization of antibacterial MDPB via electron beam irradiation induced rapid membrane depolarization, increasing membrane permeability and eventually causing cell death. Our strategy substantially enhances the antibacterial properties of the resinous materials and inhibits biofilm formation, therefore demonstrating significant potential for preventing infectious diseases in the oral environment.

BACKGROUND: Thyroid hormone participates in lipid metabolism regulation. However, the effects on triacyleride or triacylglycerol metabolism are complex and not fully clarified yet. In this study, we try to identify novel thyroid hormone-targeting lipogenic metabolic genes and analyze their molecular regulative mechanism. METHOD: Thirty-five promoters of twenty-nine human lipogenic regulative enzyme genes were constructed into pXP1 luciferase reporter plasmid (PFK2/FBP2-luc) and transfected into HeGP2 cells, respectively. Gene expression induced by triiodothyronine (T3) was detected by luciferase assay. The T3-activated gene promoter was then analyzed by sequence analysis, deletion and mutation, and electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA). RESULTS: After 10 nM T3 stimulation for 36 h, phosphogluconate dehydrogenase, malic enzyme, Glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase (GPAT) 3, and 1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase (AGPAT) 2 were significantly activated, respectively. A AGGTCA-like-direct-repeat-4 consensus thyroid hormone response element (DR4-TRE)-like sequence was found in the GPAT3 promoter, which was then verified to be necessary for T3-induced GPAT3 activation by gene deletion and mutation analysis. EMSA further identified that T3-thyroid receptor (TR) α-retinoid-X receptor (RXR) complex directly bound on the GPAT3 promoter. CONCLUSION: Triiodothyronine could activate the GPAT3 through DR4-TRE-like sequence binding to participate in lipogenic regulation. AGPAT2 may be another thyroid hormone target enzyme.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to investigate possible differences in treatment responses between two categories for the onset of lupus nephritis. METHODS: We performed a multicentre, retrospective cohort study of class III-V lupus nephritis patients diagnosed between 1997 and 2014. The renal responses to initial induction therapy were compared between patients who developed lupus nephritis within one year from diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (early (E-) LN) and the remainder (delayed (D-) LN) using the Kaplan-Meier method. We determined the predictors of renal response as well as renal flares and long-term renal outcomes using multivariate Cox regression analyses. RESULTS: A total of 107 E-LN and 70 D-LN patients were followed up for a median of 10.2 years. Log-rank tests showed a lower cumulative incidence of complete response in D-LN compared with E-LN patients. Multivariate analysis identified D-LN (hazard ratio (HR) 0.48, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.33-0.70), nephrotic syndrome at baseline, and a chronicity index greater than 2 as negative predictors of complete response. D-LN patients were more likely to experience renal flares. D-LN (HR 2.54, 95% CI 1.10-5.83) and decreased renal function were significant predictors of chronic kidney disease at baseline. CONCLUSION: D-LN was a predictor of poorer treatment outcomes, in addition to renal histology and severity of nephritis at lupus nephritis onset.

Oligonucleotides are key elements of nucleic acid therapeutics such as small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). Influenza and Ebolaviruses are zoonotic RNA viruses mutating very rapidly, and their sequence changes must be characterized intensively to design therapeutic oligonucleotides with long utility. Focusing on a total of 182 experimentally validated siRNAs for influenza A, B and Ebolaviruses compiled by the siRNA database, we conducted time-series analyses of occurrences of siRNA targets in these viral genomes. Reflecting their high mutation rates, occurrences of target oligonucleotides evidently fluctuate in viral populations and often disappear. Time-series analysis of the one-base changed sequences derived from each original target identified the oligonucleotide that shows a compensatory increase and will potentially become the 'awaiting-type oligonucleotide'; the combined use of this oligonucleotide with the original can provide therapeutics with long utility. This strategy is also useful for assigning diagnostic reverse transcription-PCR primers with long utility.

Nanoparticles (NPs) are currently the focus of considerable attention for dental applications; however, their biological effects have not been fully elucidated. The long-term, slow release of matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) digests collagen fibrils within resin-dentin bonds. Therefore, MMP inhibitors can prolong the durability of resin-dentin bonds. However, there have been few reports evaluating the combined effect of MMP inhibition and the cytotoxic effects of NPs for dentin bonding. The aim of this study was to evaluate MMP inhibition and cytotoxic responses to gold (AuNPs) and platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) stabilized by polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in cultured murine macrophages (RAW264) by using MMP inhibition assays, measuring cell viability and inflammatory responses (quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction [RT-qPCR]), and conducting a micromorphological analysis by fluorescence and transmission electron microscopy. Cultured RAW264 cells were exposed to metal NPs at various concentrations (1, 10, 100, and 400 µg/mL). AuNPs and PtNPs markedly inhibited MMP-8 and MMP-9 activity. Although PtNPs were cytotoxic at high concentrations (100 and 400 µg/mL), no cytotoxic effects were observed for AuNPs at any concentration. Transmission electron microscopy images showed a significant nonrandom intercellular distribution for AuNPs and PtNPs, which were mostly observed to be localized in lysosomes but not in the nucleus. RT-qPCR analysis demonstrated inflammatory responses were not induced in RAW264 cells by AuNPs or PtNPs. The cytotoxicity of nanoparticles might depend on the core metal composition and arise from a "Trojan horse" effect; thus, MMP inhibition could be attributed to the surface charge of PVP, which forms the outer coating of NPs. The negative charge of the surface coating of PVP binds to Zn(2+) from the active center of MMPs by chelate binding and results in MMP inhibition. In summary, AuNPs are attractive NPs that effectively inhibit MMP activity without cytotoxicity or inflammatory responses.

OBJECTIVE: A large number of individuals have halitosis. The total amount of volatile sulfur compounds, which are the main cause of halitosis, has been correlated with periodontitis following bacterial infection. In this study, Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), a major periodontopathogenic bacterium, was isolated from patients with halitosis by the amplification of 16S rRNA, and the ability of isolated Pg to produce methyl mercaptan (CH3 SH) was determined to clarify the relationship between halitosis and Pg infection. MATERIALS AND METHODS: CH3 SH concentrations were measured in patients using Oral Chroma. The production of CH3 SH by Pg standard and clinical strains was also measured in vitro. Real-time PCR was performed to compare the expression of mgl mRNA (which encoded l-methionine-a-deamino-g-mercaptomethane-lyase) among the Pg strains. The production of CH3 SH and the expression of mgl mRNA were also determined to assess the effects of oriental medicine. RESULTS: The production of CH3 SH and the expression of mgl mRNA strongly correlated with each other in the presence of l-methionine. The expression of mgl mRNA by Pg W83 was strongly inhibited by magnoliaceae. CONCLUSION: The production of CH3 SH was correlated with the expression of mgl. Furthermore, the oriental medicine, magnoliaceae, may represent a potential treatment for halitosis.

BACKGROUND: The optimal surgical approach for treatment of oesophagogastric junction (OGJ) cancer is controversial. A randomized clinical trial (JCOG9502) comparing transhiatal (TH) and left thoracoabdominal (LTA) approaches was stopped after the first interim analysis owing to limited efficacy for LTA resections. Complete 10-year follow-up data are now available. METHODS: Patients with histologically proven adenocarcinoma of the OGJ or gastric cardia with oesophageal invasion of 3 cm or less were randomized to a TH or LTA approach. Both groups underwent total gastrectomy and splenectomy with D2 nodal dissection plus para-aortic lymphadenectomy above the left renal vein. For LTA, a thorough mediastinal lymphadenectomy below the left inferior pulmonary vein was also mandatory. The primary endpoint was overall survival. RESULTS: A total of 167 patients (82 TH, 85 LTA) were enrolled. The 10-year overall survival rate was 37 (95 per cent c.i. 26 to 47) per cent for the TH approach and 24 (15 to 34) per cent for the LTA technique (P = 0·060). The hazard ratio for death was 1·42 (0·98 to 2·05) for the LTA technique. Subgroup analysis based on the Siewert classification indicated non-significant survival advantages in favour of the TH approach. CONCLUSION: LTA resections should be avoided in the treatment of adenocarcinoma of the OGJ or gastric cardia. REGISTRATION NUMBER: NCT00149266 (https://www.clinicaltrials.gov).

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Various studies have reported the relationship between alcohol consumption and gingival condition. However, they focus on the direct effects of alcohol consumption or alcohol sensitivity on gingival condition, and it is unclear how oral health behaviors relate these relationships. The aims of this study were to assess the inter-relationships between gingival condition, tooth-brushing behavior after drinking alcohol and alcohol sensitivity in university students who drink more than once per week on average. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 808 students (541 males, 267 females) that habitually consume alcohol were analyzed. The disease activity of gingival condition was assessed as the percentage of bleeding on probing (%BOP). Additional information regarding alcohol sensitivity and oral health behaviors, including tooth-brushing behavior after drinking, were also collected. RESULTS: Thirteen percent of the current participants reported neglecting tooth-brushing after drinking, and their alcohol consumption was higher than those who did not neglect tooth-brushing. Logistic regression analysis showed that high %BOP (%BOP ≥ 20) was associated with male (OR = 1.53; 95% CI, 1.01-2.33), neglect of tooth-brushing after drinking (OR = 2.60; 95% CI, 1.20-5.61) and debris index (OR = 8.38; 95% CI, 4.24-16.60) in participants with low alcohol sensitivity. In participants with high alcohol sensitivity, high %BOP was associated with debris index (OR = 7.60; 95% CI, 3.12-18.51), but not with any oral health behaviors. CONCLUSIONS: The study revealed that alcohol consumption was indirectly related to gingival disease activity through the neglect of tooth-brushing after drinking alcohol in university students with low alcohol sensitivity.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Xerostomia is a subjective symptom of dryness in the mouth. Although a correlation between xerostomia and oral conditions in the elderly has been reported, there are few such studies in the young adults. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship of xerostomia with the gingival condition in university students. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 2077 students (1202 male subjects and 875 female subjects), 18-24 years of age, were examined. The disease activity and severity of the gingival condition were assessed as the percentage of teeth with bleeding on probing (%BOP) and the presence of teeth with probing pocket depth of ≥ 4 mm, respectively. Additional information on xerostomia, oral health behaviors, coffee/tea intake and nasal congestion was collected via a questionnaire. Path analysis was used to test pathways from xerostomia to the gingival condition. RESULTS: One-hundred and eighty-three (8.8%) students responded that their mouths frequently or always felt dry. Xerostomia was related to %BOP and dental plaque formation, but was not related to the presence of probing pocket depth ≥ 4 mm. In the structural model, xerostomia was related to dental plaque formation (p < 0.01), and a lower level of dental plaque formation was associated with a lower %BOP. Xerostomia was associated with coffee/tea intake (p < 0.01) and nasal congestion (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Xerostomia was indirectly related to gingival disease activity through the accumulation of dental plaque. Nasal congestion and coffee/tea intake also affected xerostomia. These findings suggest that xerostomia should be considered in screening for gingivitis risk in young adults.

AIM: To describe the features of chronic sinusitis associated with the use of tumour necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors. METHODOLOGY: A retrospective review of the medical records between 2003 and 2011 revealed that five patients had developed chronic sinusitis after the start of TNF inhibitor administration and required rhinological evaluation and treatment. RESULTS: The incidence of refractory sinusitis associated with TNF inhibitors was approximately 2%. Of the five patients identified, four patients were medicated with etanercept and one with infliximab. The maxillary sinus was most commonly involved and cultures of the sinus discharge revealed Pseudomonas aeruginosa in three cases. Two patients showed improvement of sinusitis with antibiotic medication, despite the continuous use of TNF inhibitor, while in two other patients, sinusitis was resistant to antibiotic medication. Another patient who had developed recurrence of sinusitis after complete remission of previous chronic sinusitis by endoscopic sinus surgery showed remission only after cessation of TNF inhibitor. CONCLUSION: Chronic sinusitis associated with TNF inhibitors is considered to be a new disease entity, and it will become more common due to the increasing use of TNF inhibitors.

The aim of this study was to prepare an inclusion complex of acetaminophen and ß-cyclodextrin (molar ratio of 1:1). A jelly with inclusion complexes formed by kneading was prepared. The formation of inclusion complexes was assessed by powder X-ray diffraction patterns and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy. Jellies were prepared with xanthan gum, gelatin, and κ-carrageenan. The concentration of each jelling agent was 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5% w/v. Viscoelasticity and dissolution characteristics were determined and osmometry was performed. PGWater(™), a commercial jelly for fluid replacement, served as a reference for viscoelastic characteristics and dissolution. Powder X-ray diffraction measurement revealed a different diffraction pattern for the kneading than for acetaminophen and ß-cyclodextrin. Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy revealed an absorption peak (at around 1655 cm(-1)) due to the carbonyl group and benzene ring (at around 1610 cm(-1)) of acetaminophen. In contrast, the kneaded mixture (1:1) had a shift in the absorption peak due to the carbonyl group (at around 1650 cm(-1)) in acetaminophen's molecular structure, and the formation of an inclusion complex was noted. The viscosity of xanthan gum-1.0, gelatin-1.5, and carrageenan-0.5 resembled the viscoelasticity of PGWater(™). The acetaminophen in gelatin-1.0 and carrageenan-0.5 had dissolution behavior similar to that of commercial acetaminophen preparations. The osmolality of jellies prepared in different concentrations ranged from about 20-50 mOsm/kg. Results suggested that carrageenan-0.5 could serve as a useful jelly vehicle for acetaminophen.

BACKGROUND: This study investigated the usefulness of a novel inflammation-based prognostic system, named the COP-NLR (COmbination of Platelet count and Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio), for predicting the postoperative survival of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). METHODS: The COP-NLR was calculated on the basis of data obtained on the day of admission: patients with both an elevated platelet count (>30 × 10(4) mm(-3)) and an elevated NLR (>3) were allocated a score of 2, and patients showing one or neither were allocated a score of 1 or 0, respectively. RESULTS: Four-hundred and eighty patients were enrolled. Multivariate analysis of clinical characteristics selected by univariate analysis showed that the COP-NLR (1, 2/0) (odds ratio, 0.464; 95% confidence interval, 0.267-0.807; P=0.007) had an association with cancer-specific survival, along with pathology, lymph node metastasis, the serum levels of carcinoembryonic antigen, C-reactive protein and albumin, and the Glasgow Prognostic Score. Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank test revealed that the COP-NLR was able to divide such patients into three independent groups (P<0.001). CONCLUSION: The COP-NLR is considered to be a useful predictor of postoperative survival in patients with CRC.

We report the results of a high-statistics search for H dibaryon production in inclusive Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) decays. No indication of an H dibaryon with a mass near the M(H)=2m(Λ) threshold is seen in either the H→Λpπ(-) or ΛΛ decay channels and 90% confidence level branching-fraction upper limits are set that are between one and two orders of magnitude below the measured branching fractions for inclusive Υ(1S) and Υ(2S) decays to antideuterons. Since Υ(1S,2S) decays produce flavor-SU(3)-symmetric final states, these results put stringent constraints on H dibaryon properties. The results are based on analyses of 102 million Υ(1S) and 158 million Υ(2S) events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider.

AIM: The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between the growth hormone (GH)-insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) axis and glucose intolerance in acromegaly during the early postoperative period. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: The study included 20 patients with acromegaly caused by GH-secreting pituitary adenoma who received transsphenoidal surgery in our hospital. Glucose tolerance was evaluated with oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTTs) performed during pre- and early postoperative periods (9 [7-18] days after surgery). Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and insulinogenic index (IGI) were calculated, and correlation analyses were performed between these values and the GH-IGF-I axis. Patients were divided according to postoperative changes of the axis, and glucose tolerance was compared between the groups. RESULTS: In preoperative OGTTs, nine patients had impaired glucose tolerance and two had diabetes mellitus patterns. Postoperatively, significant reduction was observed both in fasting plasma glucose levels (p<0.01) and in HOMA-IR (p<0.01), whereas IGI showed no significant change. HOMA-IR was significantly correlated with serum IGF-I levels both before (r=0.83, p<0.01) and after (r=0.57, p<0.01) surgery, although it was not correlated with serum GH levels. Patients who achieved more than 50% postoperative reduction in serum IGF-I levels showed significant improvement in OGTTs results (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: In patients with acromegaly, serum IGF-I levels, but not GH levels, were significantly correlated with insulin resistance. Early postoperative improvement of glucose tolerance is observed in patients who achieved postoperative reduction in serum IGF-I levels.

KRAS mutations are one of the most common driver mutations in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and finding druggable target molecules to inhibit oncogenic KRAS signaling is a significant challenge in NSCLC therapy. We recently identified epiregulin (EREG) as one of several putative transcriptional targets of oncogenic KRAS signaling in both KRAS-mutant NSCLC cells and immortalized bronchial epithelial cells expressing ectopic mutant KRAS. In the current study, we found that EREG is overexpressed in NSCLCs harboring KRAS, BRAF or EGFR mutations compared with NSCLCs with wild-type KRAS/BRAF/EGFR. Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) targeting mutant KRAS, but not an siRNA targeting wild-type KRAS, significantly reduced EREG expression in KRAS-mutant and EREG-overexpressing NSCLC cell lines. In these cell lines, EREG expression was downregulated by MEK and ERK inhibitors. Importantly, EREG expression significantly correlated with KRAS expression or KRAS copy number in KRAS-mutant NSCLC cell lines. Further expression analysis using 89 NSCLC specimens showed that EREG was predominantly expressed in NSCLCs with pleural involvement, lymphatic permeation or vascular invasion and in KRAS-mutant adenocarcinomas. In addition, multivariate analysis revealed that EREG expression is an independent prognostic marker and EREG overexpression in combination with KRAS mutations was associated with an unfavorable prognosis for lung adenocarcinoma patients. In KRAS-mutant and EREG overexpressing NSCLC cells, siRNA-mediated EREG silencing inhibited anchorage-dependent and -independent growth and induced apoptosis. Our findings suggest that oncogenic KRAS-induced EREG overexpression contributes to an aggressive phenotype and could be a promising therapeutic target in oncogenic KRAS-driven NSCLC.

We observe evidence for CP violation in the decay D+ → K(S)(0)π+ using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 977 fb(-1) collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e- asymmetric-energy collider. The CP asymmetry in the decay is measured to be (-0.363±0.094±0.067)%, which is 3.2 standard deviations away from zero, and is consistent with the expected CP violation due to the neutral kaon in the final state.

We present a precise measurement of the CP violation parameter sin2φ1 and the direct CP violation parameter A(f) using the final data sample of 772×10(6) BB[over ¯] pairs collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. One neutral B meson is reconstructed in a J/ψK(S)(0), ψ(2S)K(S)(0), χ(c1)K(S)(0), or J/ψK(L)(0) CP eigenstate and its flavor is identified from the decay products of the accompanying B meson. From the distribution of proper-time intervals between the two B decays, we obtain the following CP violation parameters: sin2φ1=0.667±0.023(stat)±0.012(syst) and A(f)=0.006±0.016(stat)±0.012(syst).
