[Luteal and follicular phase inhibin A and B in regularly cycling women]. / Inhibina A oraz inhibina B fazy follikularnej oraz lutealnej cyklu u kobiet w piatej dekadzie zycia.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the level of inhibin A nad B in luteal and follicular phase in women of reproductive age. PATIENTS: Seventy women 39-52 years of age with regular menstrual cycle. INTERVENTIONS: Blood samples obtained on days 3-8 and on days 22-25 of menstrual cycle were assayed for FSH, estradiol, inhibin A, inhibin B. RESULTS: Luteal and follicular phase inhibin B was correlated inversely with age. Luteal phase inhibin A was correlated inversely with follicular phase FSH. CONCLUSION: Main form of inhibin in follicular phase of the cycle is inhibin B and in luteal phase inhibin A. Inhibin B can be potential marker of ovarian aging.

[Cesarean section performed in a country hospital in Zamosc in the years 1980-1992]. / Ciecia cesarskie wykonane w szpitalu wojewódzkim w Zamosciu w latach 1980-1992.

In years 1980-1992 cesarean section was performed in 13.6%, mostly because of fetal distress. The rate of cesarean sections was rising from 8.9% in 1980 up to 18.5% in 1991, with the fall about 2.9% and in 1992. There were no maternal deaths after cesarean sections. Newborns mortality was 2.69% and in 81.5% was concerning preterm infants with birth-weight below 2501 g.
