RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Medical dressings are designed to promote wound healing and reduce infection. The aim of project is to investigate the effect of natural brown colored cotton dressings on the healing of infected wounds in E.coli animals. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this study, degreased white cotton gauze was used as the control group, with degreased brown cotton gauze and degreased bleached brown cotton gauze as the experimental group 1 and experimental group 2, to investigate the effect on the repair of post-infectious wound damage in animals by establishing an infected wound model in rats with E.coli as the infecting organism. RESULTS: The ability to promote healing of infected wounds was investigated by analyzing the wound healing status, macroscopic wound healing rate, hematoxylin-eosin staining, Masson staining, secretion of inflammatory factors by Elisa assay. The result showed that at day 14 of wound healing, the macroscopic wound healing rate was greater than 98% for all three groups of dressings; the collagen content reached 49.85 ± 5.84% in the experimental group 1 and 53.48 ± 5.32% in the experimental group 2, which was higher than the control group; brown cotton gauze promotes skin wound healing by shortening the inflammatory period in both groups. The expression of three inflammatory factors THF-α, IL-2, and IL-8 and three cytokines MMP-3, MMP-8, and MMP-9 were lower than that of the control group. CONCLUSIONS: It was found that natural brown cotton gauze has better repairing and promoting healing effect on infected wounds. It opens up the application of natural brown cotton gauze in the treatment of infected wounds.

RESUMO

During the physiological period, women have the problem of lateral and posterior leakage, and they expect to have period underwear that can reduce lateral and posterior leakage. This study is combined with menstrual needs, and in the crotch penetration layer, three types of yarns are used, seaweed viscose yarn, apocynum viscose yarn, and viscose yarn, as well as two fabric structures: honeycomb-shaped convex-concave stitching and grid-shaped convex point stitching. In the crotch absorption layer, three types of yarns are used, modal yarn, bamboo yarn, and viscose yarn, as well as two fabric structures: plush stitching and plain stitching. The above two parts establish a sample scheme according to full-factor experimental tests, and 12 knitted fabric samples were knitted. The experimental data were analyzed through SPSS one-way ANOVA. The results indicate that in terms of veil raw materials, the crotch penetration layer with seaweed viscose yarn has better penetration performance, while the crotch absorption layer with bamboo yarn has better absorption performance. In terms of fabric structure, the crotch penetration layer with grid-shaped convex point stitching has better penetration performance, while the crotch absorption layer with plush stitching has better absorption performance. This study provides a theoretical basis for the development of period underwear.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The complex network connections, information transmission and organization play key roles in brain cognition on sensory stimulation. Previous studies showed that several brain regions of somatosensory, motor, emotional, cognitive, etc. are linked to fabric-evoked prickle. But the functional connectivity characteristics of the brain network involved in prickle perception is still unclear. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the present study, resting state fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) with functional connectivity analysis was adopted to build the initial brain functional network, and task fMRI with psychophysiological interaction analysis was employed to investigate modulation features of prickling task to functional connections in the brain network. RESULTS: The results showed that, in resting state, six groups or sub-networks can be identified in the prickle network, and when the subjects performed the prickling task, functional connectivity strength between some seed regions (e.g., somatosensory regions and precuneus, emotional regions and the prefrontal cortex, etc.) in the network increased. CONCLUSION: Combining resting-state fMRI with task fMRI is a feasible and promising method to study functional connectivity characteristics of the brain network involved in prickle perception. It is inferred that the "itch" ingredient of prickle sensation was transmitted from somatosensory cortices to precuneus, and emotional attribute (e.g., pain) from somatosensory cortices to the prefrontal cortex and at last to emotional regions.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: A kind of prickle sensation, which is a composite feeling of pain and itch, can be evoked by mechanical stimulation of fiber ends from fabric surface against to human hairy skin, rather than glabrous skin. Now, a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study was conducted to investigate the cognitive differences in the brain for mechanical prickling stimuli to the two types of skin. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A nylon filament with the diameter of 205 µm and the length of 8 mm was used to deliver mechanical prickling stimuli respectively to two skin sites, fingertip (glabrous skin) and volar forearm (hairy skin), of eight healthy male subjects. Simultaneously, the technology of fMRI was adopted to acquire BOLD (Blood Oxygen Level-Dependent) signals of brain functional response of the subjects. RESULTS: Somatosensory areas, emotional areas, and the posterior parietal cortex (especially the precuneus) are important brain regions that distinguish between the two conditions. The representation of mechanical prickling stimulation to glabrous skin in the brain favors much more the tactile information of the stimulation and contains no itch, while the key brain area, precuneus, involved in itch was activated by the same mechanical prickling stimulation to hairy skin, and brain response for the condition of hairy skin contains more emotional information, which plays an important role in pain processing. CONCLUSION: Therefore, it can be inferred that a kind of stronger prickle sensation, which contains both pain and itch, was evoked by mechanical stimulation to hairy skin than glabrous skin.

RESUMO

In this paper, four kinds of polyamide yarns with different graphene contents and three kinds of seamless knitting structures were used. The scheme of samples was established according to the comprehensive experimental design method, and 12 pieces of knitted fabric samples were woven on the seamless knitting machine. Through testing and analyzing the influence of each sample on the blood-flow rate of human-surface-skin microcirculation, the research shows that the higher the content of graphene in the veil, the better the promotion effect of the fabric prepared under this process condition on the blood-flow rate of human-surface-skin microcirculation. Sample 11# with the veil type of GP-0.8% and fabric weave of 1+1 simulated ribbed stitch has the strongest effect in this experiment, with a promotion multiple of 1.2189, and the influence of tissue structure is not obvious. The relevant performance test data and experimental research results in this paper provide empirical data support for developing medical or health textiles related to promoting the blood-flow velocity of skin microcirculation.

RESUMO

In autumn and winter, the climate is dry and human skin tends to become dry as a result. The application of hyaluronic acid to a fabric has a certain moisturizing effect, which can further improve the wearing comfort of the fabric. In this study, three knitted fabric structures including weft plain stitch, 1 + 1 mock rib, and 1 + 3 mock rib were designed. The face yarn adopted hyaluronic acid viscose fiber, graphene viscose fiber, nylon, and viscose with different interweaving ratios, and the inner yarn adopted nylon/spandex-coated wire. A total of 18 sample knitted fabrics were woven according to the experimental method of the full test. The effects of the fabric structure and fabric raw materials on skin moisturizing properties were studied and analyzed by testing the skin water content and trans-epidermal water loss before and after coating the fabric on the human skin. The results show that the most significant factor affecting the skin moisture content is the raw material used in the fabric. When the interweaving ratio of hyaluronic acid viscose fiber in the fabric decreases, the moisturizing performance of the fabric on human skin is weakened. The second is the fabric structure. In terms of structure, 1 + 1 mock rib fabric has better moisturizing performance for human skin. When the material adopts hyaluronic acid viscose fiber/graphene viscose fiber (100:0) and the structure adopts 1 + 1 mock rib, the moisturizing effect on human skin is better.

RESUMO

Natural brown cotton has favorable antibacterial and antioxidant properties. In this study, we explored the effect of gauze made from natural brown cotton after scouring and bleaching on wound healing in rats. In this work, a control experiment was adopted. The control group used absorbent cotton gauze, and the experimental group utilized natural brown cotton bleached gauze. The materials were applied to rat models to explore the effects of the two dressings on wound healing. By analyzing the wound healing state of rats, calculating the healing rate, and combining the pathological HE staining, Masson staining, and CD31 immunohistochemical staining, the results showed that both gauzes have positive effects on the wound healing of the rats. Moreover, compared with the control group, the wound healing rate of rats in the experimental group increased by 14.81%, the number of inflammatory cells decreased by 12.93%, the number of new blood vessels increased by 6.88%, the growth rate of the granulation tissue area was 10.76%, the step-up rate of the area occupied by collagen was 33.71%, and the increase rate of optical density value was 10.00%. This study found that natural brown cotton bleached gauze has a better effect on wound healing than ordinary absorbent cotton gauze, and can be used as medical dressings.

RESUMO

In this paper, magnetic fibers were integrated with seamless knitting technology. Additionally, the raw materials for the outer fabrics and the relevant yarn feed ratio were designed, including the polypropylene yarn with different magnetic powder contents (0%, 10% and 50%) and its yarn feed ratio (100:0, 75:25, 50:50 and 25:75) to graphene viscose yarn. In addition, weft plain stitch, 1 + 1 mock rib and 1 + 3 mock rib were adopted to weave polyamide fiber/polyurethane fiber wrap yarn as the lining materials into 12 knitted fabric samples on a seamless knitting machine according to the partial addition method in the orthogonal experimental design. As per the test and analysis results of the magnetic flux density on the front and back surfaces of 12 seamless knitted fabrics, polypropylene yarn with different magnetic powder contents in outer fabrics is the most significant factor affecting the magnetic flux density on the surface, followed by the yarn feed ratio of outer fabrics and fabric stitches. The findings in this study can provide a reference and theoretical basis for the specification design of seamless knitted fabrics manufactured by magnetic fabrics to a certain extent.

RESUMO

To explore the skin moisturizing performance of aloe viscose fiber seamless knitted fabric, this experiment takes the different yarn-blending ratios of aloe viscose fiber and viscose fiber, as well as three different tissue structures as factors, establishes a sample scheme according to full factor experimental tests on skin hydration and trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) after the sample fabric had been wrapped around the skin, and uses two-way and one-way ANOVA in SPSS and the Duncan multiple comparison method. The test data were analyzed to study the influence of different materials and the structure of the veil on the moisture retention of the fabric. The results show that the sample scheme with the largest change rate of skin hydration is when the raw material of the veil is aloe viscose/viscose 100/0 yarn, and the structure is 1 + 3 simulated rib. The sample scheme with the minimum change rate of TEWL is when aloe viscose/viscose 75/25 yarn is used as the raw material of the veil, and the structure is 1 + 1 simulated rib, which provides a theoretical basis for the research and development of moisturizing knitted fabric.

RESUMO

In this paper, the effects of the structural parameters of magnetic-knitted fabric on human skin microcirculation (HSM) were studied in relation to magnetic polypropylene yarn, which was used as raw material. Three experimental factors were designed: the magnetic powder content of polypropylene, the feeding ratio of magnetic polypropylene (MP) and graphene viscous (GV), and stitch. Twelve pieces of seamless knitted fabric were prepared according to the comprehensive experimental design method. The BIV angiography was used to proceed with an HSM test of about 12 pieces of seamless knitted fabric. The results show the following: The magnetic powder content of polypropylene has the greatest influence on the blood flow promotion multiples of skin-blood microcirculation, followed by the feeding ratio of MP and GV, while stitch has the least influence. When the plating yarn feeding ratio was 100:0, the magnetic powder content of polypropylene was 50%, and the stitch was 1 + 1 false rib, meaning that the fabric could promote HSM more efficiently. This is compared against the common polypropylene knitted fabric, where the blood flow promotion multiples increased by 9.87%. The purpose of this study was to explore the structural parameters of magnetic polypropylene-knitted fabric that has a better effect on promoting HSM, and to provide a reference for the development of functional health-knitted fabrics.

RESUMO

The fabrics with electromagnetic interference (EMI) have been used in various fields. However, most studies related to the EMI fabrics focused on the improvement of the final electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EM SE) by adjusting the preparation parameters while the breathability of the EMI fabrics was affected and the visible surficial patterns on the EMI fabric was limited. In this work, the two samples based on the Song Brocade structure were fabricated with surficial visible pattern ''. One was fabricated with silver-plated polyamide (Ag-PA) yarns and the silk yarns, the another with polyester (PET) yarns and the silk yarns. The weaving structure of the two samples were investigated by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) and laser optical microscopy (LOM). The resistance against the EM radiation near field communication (NFC) and the ultraviolet (UV) light was also evaluated. Besides, the surface resistance, the air permeability and the water evaporation rate were investigated. The results revealed that the '' appeared successfully on the surface of the two samples with stable weaving structure. The Ag-PA yarn-incorporated Song Brocade fabric had the EMI shielding effectiveness value around 50 dB, which was supported by the low surface resistance less than 40 Ω. The excellent NFC shielding of the Ag-PA yarn-incorporated Song Brocade was also found. The ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) value of the Ag-PA yarn-incorporated Song Brocade fabric was higher than 190. The air permeability and the evaporation rate of the Ag-PA yarn-incorporated Song Brocade fabric was higher than 99 mm/s, and 1.4 g/h, respectively. As a result, the Ag-PA yarn-incorporated Song Brocade fabrics were proposed for both the personal and the industrial scale utilization.
