RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the melancholia incidence in the convalescence period of cerebral hemorrhage and its correlated factors. Methods Ninety-eight cerebral hemorrhage patients in the convalescence period were involved in this study.Melancholia was assessed by Hamilton depression scale (HAMD),neural functional deficiency was assessed by the national institute of health stroke scale (NIHSS),cognitive function deficiency was assessed by the Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) and neural functional deficiency recovery was assessed by modified Rankin scale (mRS).Hemorrhagic site and blood quantity were detected with CT.The blood flow of middle cerebral artery (MCA),anterior cerebral artery (ACA),posterior cerebral artery (PCA) was detected by TCD.Results The melancholia incidence in the convalescence period was 51.0%(50/98),34.0%(17/50) in males and 68.8%(33/48) in females, there was significant difference between the two (P < 0.05 ).The scores of NIHSS and mRS had significantly positive correlation with HAMD (P < 0.05 ),and had significantly negative correlation with MoCA (P < 0.05 ).When the hemorrhagic site was in frontal lobe and blood quantity was 20-40 ml,the melancholia incidence was increased [76.2% (16/21),62.5% (25/40)].The average blood velocity of MCA,ACA and PCA in melancholia patients was significantly slower than that without melancholia patients, while resistance index was significantly higher in melancholia patients (P < 0.05).Conclusions Melancholia incidence in the convalescence period of cerebral hemorrhage has positive correlation with sex,NIHSS,MoCA,hemorrhagic site and blood quantity. The average cerebral blood flow in the melancholia patients is significantly slower and resistance index is significantly higher.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection among pigs in Henan province.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>A total of 623 swine sera, collected from 5 districts, were divided into two groups, under 3-month of age and over 3-month of age. They were tested for HEV antigen and antibody by using ELISAs, respectively. The sera positive for HEV antigen were tested for HEV RNA with RT-PCR. The positive products of RT-PCR were cloned and sequenced.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The positive rates of anti-HEV antibody of the groups under 3-month and over 3-month of age were 90.27% and 92.55%, respectively, without statistical difference, while those of HEV antigen were 15.93% and 5.69%, respectively, with significant difference. The positive rates of anti-HEV antibody and HEV antigen were significantly different among different districts. HEV RNA was detectable in 5 of 47 HEV antigen positive samples. The sequence analysis showed that in 4 of 5 specimens the sequence belonged to genotype 4 while in the remaining one the sequence was genotype 1.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The prevalence rate of HEV infection in pigs was high in Henan province and the rate differed in different districts.</p>

RESUMO

Now the clinical preservation methods of human red blood cells mainly include hypothermic storage (4 degrees C) and cryopreservation (-80 degrees C or -196 degrees C). The preservation time of hypothermic storage of red blood cells is relatively short and it is easy to be contaminated by microbes. Cryopreservation greatly prolongs the storage time, but it needs heavy storage equipments. Because the protective solutions in cryopreservation contain glycerol, red blood cells need complicated washing in order to remove glycerol. These shortage methods limit their application to some special conditions, such as war or natural disasters. Compared with conventional preservation methods of red blood cells, lyophilization has many advantages such as less weight, convenient transportation, room temperature preservation, prone to be rehydrated. In this review, the progress and challenge in the development of lyophilization of red blood cells, especially application of trehalose and its mechanism in the lyophilization of red blood cells were systematically discussed. This review can provide some theoretic guidance for developing a safe, simple and efficient preservation approach of red blood cells by lyophilization.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the effects of TENS on metatarsus plantar flexion and inversion in stroke patients, and to explore its mechanism. Methods Thirty-two stroke patients with gastrocnemius spasticity were randomly divided into a control group (n=16) and a TENS group (n=16).All patients were treated with foot sup- ports, neurodevelopmental and manipulation therapies. In addition, the TENS group received TENS on the anterior tibialis, peroneus longus and brevis muscles. All patients were assessed in terms of their Chinese stroke scale(CSS) and H reflex scores before and after therapy. Results Compared with those in the control group, the H reflex scores in the TENS group were obviously decreased, while H reflex latency was prolonged and H/M was reduced. Gait in the TENS group was evidently improved. Conclusion TENS is an effective therapy to decrease gastrocnemi- us spasticity and to improve the gait of stroke patients.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To determine the origin of Rana temporaria for quality Oviduetus Ranae in the light of historical documents and modern researches on the classification of Rana temporaria chensinensis.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>Works of Chinese meteria medica of all ages, related historical documents and reports from home and abroad on researches of R. temporaria chensinensis were consulted, sorted out, analyzed and summarized.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The original Shange recorded in the works of Chinese meteria medica is R. temporaria chensinensis, which is the independent species, not one of species of European forest frogs. R. temporaria chensinensis is divided into 4 subspecies: R. temporaria chensinensis, Lanzhou, Kangding, and Changbaishan. The origin of R. temporaria is Changbaishan subspecies of R. temporaria chensinensis.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Changbaishan subspecies of R. temporaria chensinensis is determined as the origin for quality Oviduetus Ranae.</p>
