RESUMO

The paper presents the results of the use of Er:YAG laser for surgical treatment of 48 patients aged 25-73 years with early and late dental implant complications were presented. Among all lasers used in the field of dentistry, the Er:YAG laser seems to possess characteristics most suitable for oral treatment, due to its ability to ablate both soft and hard tissues as well as bacterial biofilms and calculus without causing major thermal damage to the adjacent tissue.

RESUMO

In 2 dogs on both sides of mandible premolars were removed. In 3 months after dental alveolus healing intraosseous screwdriver dental implants (Konmet, Russia) were installed in the place of the removed teeth. Analogous operation was done on the contralateral side: the same type of implants were installed but with new nanostructured multifunctional biocompatible non-resorbable coating (MBNC) of the Ti-Ca-P-C-O-N composition. The animals were taken out of the experiment in 4 months after implants installation and implant-bone blocks were studied by SEM-method. According to the SEM-data in the region of the contact of implant-bone without new MBNC only fibrous connective tissue was formed. In case when MBNC was used the close welding of bone tissue with implant surface was observed that was considered as sign of osteointegration.

RESUMO

On 8 rabbits with experimentally produced critical defects of calvarium plastics of the defects was performed by bioengineering constructions based upon porous polytetrafluoroethylene with multifunctional nanostructured non-resorbable cover Ti-C-Ca-P-O-N and autogenic stromal cells from adipose tissue (the main group -4 rabbits). In the reference group (4 rabbits) the defects were repaired by abiologic implants. At the terms of 3 and 6 months in the main group under implants the formation of the full value bone regenerate was seen in the region of calvarium defects. In the reference group in the bone defects the regenerate from rough fibrose connective tissue was formed.

RESUMO

Autogenous bone grafts are the most effective factor able to activate osteogenesis in bone defects, as shown by our experiments. Experimental biomaterials such as Bio-Oss and KP-3 have a high osteogenesis potential, too. However the callus initiated in jaw defects by those biomaterials underwent partial reduction during secondary rebuilding, thus becoming a less authentic bone formation.

RESUMO

Published reports on the clinical efficacy and remote results of treatment by dental implants of different types are reviewed. The authors assessed the incidence and causes of complications of implantations on the basis of a long (up to 12 years) follow-up of 865 patients to whom 1155 grafts were implanted. Methods for treating and preventing complications are developed. Implants have to be removed early (up to 1 year postoperation) because of errors in defining the indications to surgery and in the operative technique; in later periods the causes of implant removal are implant and denture fractures and bone resorption round the implant because of functional over-exercise.

RESUMO

Interactions between endoprostheses made of carbonic composition "Ostec" and bone tissue were studied after plastic repair of experimental vast defects in the mandible in 22 rabbits and 10 dogs over the course of 2 years. Histologic findings showed the formation of a layer of fibrous connective tissue 3 months after the operation and later; at some places the implant directly joins the rabbit bone, which frequently undergoes chondroid transformation. Microscopically, the structure of "Ostec" represents carbonic threads forming large bundles. By the 6th and 12th months of experiment connective tissue elements penetrate the fissures between the bundles and the perforation gaps of the endoprosthesis, forming bone-like and bone structures in them.
