RESUMO

A phenotyping was done in respect of HLA system in 14 children with documented multiple sclerosis (MS), 20 children with potential MS, and 42 their near relations. HLA-B12 antigen was recordable with high frequency (RR = 6.29; P < 0.025) while HLA-B18 with low one (P < 0.01) as compared to normal subjects both among patients in the general group and in those with proved MS. The latter showed a tendency toward increase in frequency HLA-B7. Children with significant MS where there was an association in the phenotype of HLA-B12 or HLA-B7 with HLA-A3 ran predominantly an aggravating course while their association with HLA-A2 resulted in a more benign course. The results obtained in respect of HLA antigens in MS in children differ from those of other authors on MS in adults.

RESUMO

Immunogenetic examination comprising determination of erythrocyte antigens (ABO systems and resus-factor) and leukocytes (HLA system) using hemagglutination and compliment-dependent cytotoxicity, respectively, was performed for 138 patients with chronic recurrent pancreatitis, 52 patients with chronic pancreatitis and 456 healthy subjects. Analysis of relations between the above antigens, the disease risk, clinical and laboratory parameters, readings of ultrasound histogram and the efficacy of treatment helped discover not only provoking and protecting genes, but also some pathogenetic mechanisms involved in genetic predisposition. These findings may be used in the choice of treatment policy and to upgrade the significance of prognosis of principal forms of chronic pancreatitis.

RESUMO

It is concluded that the outcome of hemotransfusion complication is influenced by the clinical state of the patients during incompatible transfusion, the amount of the transfused medium as well as the treatment carried out after development of acute renal failure. Constant alertness during transfusion as well as wider use of blood antigen-typed for Rh-Hr system antigens are of major importance for the prophylaxis of blood transfusion complications.

RESUMO

The developed procedure for the isolation of mononuclears in density gradient d = 1.0077 g/cm3 consists in separation of the plasma by preliminary centrifugation at 200 g for 7-10 min and isolation of leukocytic mononuclear cells from the cellular sediment diluted with the isotonic solution. The length of centrifugation at 400 g is selected with consideration for the thickness of the density gradient. An anticoagulant is added to the isotonic solution and ficoll-verografin mixture to improve the quality of the cell isolation.

RESUMO

Blood groups, including rhesus grouping, have been determined in 218 donors and HLA of loci A, B, C in 121 donors immunized with adsorbed tetanus toxoid (40 binding units). The presence of HLA Aw 32, B 8; HLA Bw 16, haplotypes A3 Bw 16 and A1, blank antigens of locus C is linked with the production of, respectively, high or low (less than or equal to 16 I.U./ml) antibody titers. The effectiveness of immunization is influenced by agglutinogen B, which is confirmed by its associations (in a complex with HLA Bw 16 or Bw 35) with low immune response.
