RESUMO
Spontaneous coronary dissection is a rare event occurring particularly in women during the peripartum and postpartum period. Two cases related to the early postpartum period with a successful outcome are described, together with a comprehensive review of all the previously published cases. Diagnostic and therapeutic considerations of this unique clinical entity are discussed and reviewed.

In the progenies of the crosses between disomics and trisomies, two plants were isolated which carried an extra chromosome that was unlike any in the standard complement. The plants were not alike; while one carried a metacentric, the other had a telocentric extra chromosome. Their detailed structure and possible modes of origin are discussed.
RESUMO
An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay test system was developed in which purified influenza virus M protein was used for the detection of M antibody in human sera. Antibody levels to influenza A virus M protein were monitored in sera from a vaccine study population by using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique with purified M protein as the adsorbent antigen. A 10-fold variation in titers of preexisting M antibody was observed in this population of young adults. Increases of anti-M titer of 7- to 24-fold were observed upon immunization with Formalin-inactivated vaccine or after natural infection. The antibody response to M protein was dissociated from the response to the hemagglutinin or neuraminidase antigens. The M antibody response preceded or was coincident with the antibody response to H1 hemagglutinin upon natural exposure to circulating virus.

Derivatives of cytochrome c having S-methyl cysteine and ethionine substituted for methionine residue 80 have been synthesized in order to study the effects of structural perturbations near the heme on the biological function of cytochrome c. The etionine derivative has 96% as much activity as native cytochrome c in the succinate oxidase system, whereas the S-methyl cysteine analog is totally inactive.
