RESUMO

During 30-days-long hypokinesia changes in calcium-phosphoric metabolism, glycoprotein state, acid and alkaline phosphatase activity in bone tissue of the low jaw of rats proceed in some stages, that determines the nature of mexidol (3-oxipyridine derivative) effects. The remedy demonstrated the most expressed protective effect on parodontal tissues on the 15th day of animals' mobility limitation. The data obtained show that mexidol effecting hypokinesia develop in some stages and depend on the initial state of the organism. They also reflect indirectly the significance of the antioxidant status of the organism in mineralization of the parodontal bone tissue.

RESUMO

A rabbit model of peroxide atherosclerosis was used to examine the new psychotropic drug Mexydol for its angioprotective properties. The agent was found to inhibit atheroarteriosclerotic manifestations such as hyperlipemia, activated lipid peroxidation, lower activity of the antioxidative system and to produce protective effects on the local vascular mechanisms of atherogenesis, by diminishing the severity of aortic lesion.

RESUMO

Activity of physiological antioxidant system was decreased while lipid peroxidation was increased in blood, brain, paradontium and submaxillary salivary gland under conditions of acute pain-emotional stress, deficiency of antioxidants and of their combined effect. Deficiency of antioxidants caused the most pronounced stress-dependent activation of lipid peroxidation in parodontium; less distinct reactions were observed in brain and submaxillary salivary gland.
