RESUMO

Real-time and efficient driver distraction detection is of great importance for road traffic safety and assisted driving. The design of a real-time lightweight model is crucial for in-vehicle edge devices that have limited computational resources. However, most existing approaches focus on lighter and more efficient architectures, ignoring the cost of losing tiny target detection performance that comes with lightweighting. In this paper, we present MTNet, a lightweight detector for driver distraction detection scenarios. MTNet consists of a multidimensional adaptive feature extraction block, a lightweight feature fusion block and utilizes the IoU-NWD weighted loss function, all while considering the accuracy gain of tiny target detection. In the feature extraction component, a lightweight backbone network is employed in conjunction with four attention mechanisms strategically integrated across the kernel space. This approach enhances the performance limits of the lightweight network. The lightweight feature fusion module is designed to reduce computational complexity and memory access. The interaction of channel information is improved through the use of lightweight arithmetic techniques. Additionally, CFSM module and EPIEM module are employed to minimize redundant feature map computations and strike a better balance between model weights and accuracy. Finally, the IoU-NWD weighted loss function is formulated to enable more effective detection of tiny targets. We assess the performance of the proposed method on the LDDB benchmark. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed method outperforms multiple advanced detection models.

RESUMO

An enantioselective construction of pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridones was achieved via N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed [3 + 3] annulation of enals with 5-aminopyrazoles. This protocol not only offers a highly efficient synthetic approach for the preparation of various substituted pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridones but also provides an effective method for the rapid synthesis of enantiopure spirooxindone derivatives.

RESUMO

Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) person reidentification (Re-ID) aims to identify pedestrian images within an unlabeled target domain with an auxiliary labeled source-domain dataset. Many existing works attempt to recover reliable identity information by considering multiple homogeneous networks. And take these generated labels to train the model in the target domain. However, these homogeneous networks identify people in approximate subspaces and equally exchange their knowledge with others or their mean net to improve their ability, inevitably limiting the scope of available knowledge and putting them into the same mistake. This article proposes a dual-level asymmetric mutual learning (DAML) method to learn discriminative representations from a broader knowledge scope with diverse embedding spaces. Specifically, two heterogeneous networks mutually learn knowledge from asymmetric subspaces through the pseudo label generation in a hard distillation manner. The knowledge transfer between two networks is based on an asymmetric mutual learning (AML) manner. The teacher network learns to identify both the target and source domain while adapting to the target domain distribution based on the knowledge of the student. Meanwhile, the student network is trained on the target dataset and employs the ground-truth label through the knowledge of the teacher. Extensive experiments in Market-1501, CUHK-SYSU, and MSMT17 public datasets verified the superiority of DAML over state-of-the-arts (SOTA).

RESUMO

NHC-catalyzed diastereoselective and enantioselective [12 + 2] higher-order cycloadditions of 5H-benzo[a]-pyrrolizine-3-carbaldehydes with cyclic sulfonic imines are described. Various optically pure polycyclic piperazin-2-ones were successfully constructed under mild reaction conditions with excellent diastereoselectivities and enantioselectivities. The generated chiral polycyclic piperazin-2-ones could be transformed to planar-chiral nine-membered cyclic amides via squaramide-catalyzed asymmetric ring-expansion reactions.

RESUMO

Driven by the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the crop residue open burning (CROB) in China cannot be ignored. In this study, we have established a high-resolution (0.05° × 0.05°) GHG emissions inventory (including CO2, CH4, and N2O) of CROB from 2012 to 2021 in China based on the VIIRS data and official statistics. To improve the results accuracy, we compared the two commonly used bases for grid allocation, fire counts (FC) and fire radiative power (FRP), in the construction of high-resolution inventory. In 2012, GHG emissions are overestimated by 599 t CO2e per grid on average in 24,577 grids, and underestimated by 1096 t CO2e per grid on average in 13,546 grids based on FC compared to FRP. Then, we characterized the spatial and temporal distribution of GHG emissions from CROB by using the FRP-based method. From 2012 to 2021, total GHG emissions from CROB in China have decreased by 31.2 %, of which the East and South-Central China contributed 22.51 and 9.12 Tg CO2e of GHG reductions, while the Northeast China contributed 10.73 Tg CO2e of GHG growth, respectively. In addition, GHG emissions from CROB on the time scale are mainly concentrated in April, June, and October, with variations between years and regions influenced by the policy, climate, and farmers' perceptions. Finally, we assessed the GHG emission reductions from CROB under different scenarios in the future. By 2060, GHG emissions would be significantly reduced by 57.3 %-77.9 % compared to 2021 under effective control measures. We believe the results will be of great significance for GHG policy formulation and emission reduction potential assessment.

RESUMO

In this work, we report on the growth of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) crystals from an iron flux at atmospheric pressure and high temperature and demonstrate that (i) the entire sheet of hBN crystals can be detached from the metal in a single step using hydrochloric acid and that (ii) these hBN crystals allow to fabricate high carrier mobility graphene-hBN devices. By combining spatially-resolved confocal Raman spectroscopy and electrical transport measurements, we confirm the excellent quality of these crystals for high-performance hBN-graphene-based van der Waals heterostructures. The full width at half maximum of the graphene Raman 2D peak is as low as 16 cm-1, and the room temperature charge carrier mobilitiy is around 80 000 cm2/(Vs) at a carrier density 1 × 1012cm-12. This is fully comparable with devices of similar dimensions fabricated using crystalline hBN synthesized by the high pressure and high temperature method. Finally, we show that for exfoliated high-quality hBN flakes with a thickness between 20 and 40 nm the line width of the hBN Raman peak, in contrast to the graphene 2D line width, is not useful for benchmarking hBN in high mobility graphene devices.

RESUMO

An N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed atroposelective [3 + 3] annulation of enals with 2-aminomaleate derivatives is described. A series of substituted dihydropyridones bearing both C-N axis and point chirality were synthesized with good diastereo- and enantioselectivity under mild conditions. This efficient strategy successfully superpositions an extra point chiral element with an axial backbone, and the generated structurally interesting atropisomers may have potential application in drug discovery.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Suanzaoren decoction (SZRD) is a classical traditional Chinese prescription. It is widely used to treat mental disorders, including insomnia, anxiety, and depression, in China and other Asian countries. However, the effective components and mechanisms underlying SZRD remained unclear. PURPOSE: We aimed to develop a new strategy to discover the effects and potential mechanisms of SZRD against anxiety and to further reveal the effective components of SZRD in treating anxiety. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: First, the chronic restraint stress (CRS)-induced mouse model of anxiety was orally administered SZRD, and behavioral indicators and biochemical parameters were applied to assess efficacy. A chinmedomics strategy based on UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS technology and network pharmacology were then used to screen and explore potentially effective components and therapeutic mechanisms. Finally, molecular docking was applied to further confirm the effective components of SZRD, and a multivariate network for anxiolytic effects was constructed. RESULTS: SZRD exerted anxiolytic effects by increasing the percentage of entries into open arms and the time spent in open arms; improving hippocampal 5-HT, GABA, and NE levels; and increasing serum corticosterone (CORT) and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) levels caused by CRS challenge. Beside, SZRD exerted a sedative effect by decreasing sleep time and prolonging sleep latency with no muscle relaxation effect in CRS mice. A total of 110 components were identified in SZRD, 20 of which were absorbed in the blood. Twenty-one serum biomarkers involved in arachidonic acid, tryptophan, sphingolipid, and linoleic acid metabolism were identified after SZRD intervention. Finally, a multivariate network including prescription-effective components-targets-pathway of SZRD treating anxiety, including 11 effective components, 4 targets and 2 pathway was constructed. CONCLUSION: The current study demonstrated that integrating chinmedomics and network pharmacology was a powerful approach to investigating the effective components and therapeutic mechanisms of SZRD and provided a solid basis for the quality marker (Q-marker) of SZRD.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury is a complicated pathophysiological process associated with cardiomyocyte pyroptosis. Methyltransferase-like protein 3 (METTL3) catalyzes the formation of N6-methyl-adenosine (m6A) and participates in various biological processes. This study probed into the mechanism of METTL3 in cardiomyocyte pyroptosis in MI/R injury. METHODS: A rat model of MI/R was established. Rat cardiomyocytes were subjected to oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) treatment for the establishment of a cell model in vitro. METTL3 expression in myocardial tissues of MI/R rats and OGD/R-treated cardiomyocytes was determined using RT-qPCR and Western blot. The pathological changes of rat myocardial tissues were observed using hematoxylin and eosin staining. The positive expression of NLRP3 in myocardial tissues or cardiomyocytes was observed through immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence. The activity of caspase-1 was measured using the colorimetric method. The expressions of GSDMD and cleaved caspase-1, as well as the levels of IL-1ß and IL-18 in rat myocardial tissues or cardiomyocytes were determined. m6A modification level was quantified. The binding relationship between pri-miR-143-3p and DGCR8 and the enrichment of m6A on pri-miR-143-3p were detected. The binding relationship between miR-143-3p and protein kinase C epsilon (PRKCE) was verified. RESULTS: METTL3 expression was elevated in MI/R rats and OGD/R cardiomyocytes. METTL3 silencing alleviated myocardial injury, reduced the number of NLRP3-positive cardiomyocytes, suppressed caspase-1 activity, decreased the protein levels of GSDMD-N and cleaved caspase-1, and decreased IL-1ß and IL-18 levels. METTL3 increased the total m6A level in MI/R rats and injured cardiomyocytes, promoted DGCR8 binding to pri-miR-143-3p, and enhanced miR-143-3p expression. miR-143-3p suppressed PRKCE transcription, and miR-143-3p overexpression reversed the inhibitory effect of METTL3 silencing on cardiomyocyte pyroptosis. CONCLUSION: METTL3 promoted DGCR8 binding to pri-miR-143-3p through m6A modification, thus enhancing miR-143-3p expression to inhibit PRKCE transcription and further aggravating cardiomyocyte pyroptosis and MI/R injury.

RESUMO

Phonon polariton (PhP) nanoresonators can dramatically enhance the coupling of molecular vibrations and infrared light, enabling ultrasensitive spectroscopies and strong coupling with minute amounts of matter. So far, this coupling and the resulting localized hybrid polariton modes have been studied only by far-field spectroscopy, preventing access to modal near-field patterns and dark modes, which could further our fundamental understanding of nanoscale vibrational strong coupling (VSC). Here we use infrared near-field spectroscopy to study the coupling between the localized modes of PhP nanoresonators made of h-BN and molecular vibrations. For a most direct probing of the resonator-molecule coupling, we avoid the direct near-field interaction between tip and molecules by probing the molecule-free part of partially molecule-covered nanoresonators, which we refer to as remote near-field probing. We obtain spatially and spectrally resolved maps of the hybrid polariton modes, as well as the corresponding coupling strengths, demonstrating VSC on a single PhP nanoresonator level. Our work paves the way for near-field spectroscopy of VSC phenomena not accessible by conventional techniques.

RESUMO

Black carbon (BC), as one of the short-lived climate pollutants, is becoming more prominent contribution from non-road mobile source, especially for agricultural machinery (AM) in China. However, the understanding of BC emissions from AM is still not clear, and the BC emission factors (EFs) are also limited. In this study, we conducted real-world measurements on twenty AM to investigate the instantaneous BC emission characteristics and quantify BC EFs under the whole tillage processes. We find the instantaneous BC emissions and fuel consumptions are obvious differences and present good synchronization under different tillage processes. Multi-type (CO2-, fuel-, distance-, time-, and area-based) EFs of BC are developed, which are significantly affected by different tillage processes and emission standards of the used AM. While AM conducting rotary tillage, ploughing, harvest corn and harvest wheat on the same area of land, total BC emissions by using the China III emission standard AM will be reduced by 56%, 36%, 88%, and 87% than those by using China II emission standard AM, respectively. Furthermore, for corn and wheat production under the whole tillage processes, BC EFs are 16.90 (6.03-39.12) g/hm2 and 18.18 (5.91-38.69) g/hm2, CO2 EFs are 112.64 (72.07-195.98) g/hm2 and 103.72 (71.47-167.02) g/hm2, respectively. We estimate the BC and CO2 emissions from wheat and corn productions based on the average area-based EFs. The large fluctuation ranges of BC and CO2 emissions in different tillage processes and the whole processes can reflect that the use of AM in China is uneven. It also indicates that there is a large space for BC and CO2 emission reduction and optimization. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the control of BC and CO2 emissions from AM. We believe that the recommended multi-type EFs are applicable for the quantification of BC emissions from AM in China and other countries.

RESUMO

An NHC-catalyzed enantio- and diastereoselective [3 + 2] annulation of α-bromoenals with bisoxindoles is developed, affording efficient access to various spirocyclic bisoxindole alkaloids. This protocol tolerates a broad substrates scope, with various spirocyclic bisoxindoles obtained in generally excellent enantioselectivities. More importantly, two contiguous sterically congested all-carbon quaternary stereocenters are successfully created during this process.

RESUMO

Polaritons enable subwavelength confinement and highly anisotropic flows of light over a wide spectral range, holding the promise for applications in modern nanophotonic and optoelectronic devices. However, to fully realize their practical application potential, facile methods enabling nanoscale active control of polaritons are needed. Here, we introduce a hybrid polaritonic-oxide heterostructure platform consisting of van der Waals crystals, such as hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) or alpha-phase molybdenum trioxide (α-MoO3), transferred on nanoscale oxygen vacancy patterns on the surface of prototypical correlated perovskite oxide, samarium nickel oxide, SmNiO3 (SNO). Using a combination of scanning probe microscopy and infrared nanoimaging techniques, we demonstrate nanoscale reconfigurability of complex hyperbolic phonon polaritons patterned at the nanoscale with high resolution. Hydrogenation and temperature modulation allow spatially localized conductivity modulation of SNO nanoscale patterns, enabling robust real-time modulation and nanoscale reconfiguration of hyperbolic polaritons. Our work paves the way towards nanoscale programmable metasurface engineering for reconfigurable nanophotonic applications.

RESUMO

Spin-orbit torque (SOT)-driven deterministic control of the magnetic state of a ferromagnet with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is key to next-generation spintronic applications including non-volatile, ultrafast and energy-efficient data-storage devices. However, field-free deterministic switching of perpendicular magnetization remains a challenge because it requires an out-of-plane antidamping torque, which is not allowed in conventional spin-source materials such as heavy metals and topological insulators due to the system's symmetry. The exploitation of low-crystal symmetries in emergent quantum materials offers a unique approach to achieve SOTs with unconventional forms. Here we report an experimental realization of field-free deterministic magnetic switching of a perpendicularly polarized van der Waals magnet employing an out-of-plane antidamping SOT generated in layered WTe2, a quantum material with a low-symmetry crystal structure. Our numerical simulations suggest that the out-of-plane antidamping torque in WTe2 is essential to explain the observed magnetization switching.

RESUMO

Suanzaoren Decoction(SZRD) is a classical formula for the clinical treatment of insomnia. This study analyzed the effect of SZRD on endogenous metabolites in insomnia rats based on metabonomics and thereby explored the anti-insomnia mechanism of SZRD. To be specific, DL-4-chlorophenylalanine(PCPA) was used to induce insomnia in rats. Then pathological changes of the liver and brain were observed and biochemical indexes such as 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), dopamine(DA), glutamate(Glu), γ-aminobutyric acid(GABA), and norepinephrine(NE) in the hippocampus and prostaglandin D2(PGD2), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-1ß(IL-1ß), and IL-6 in the serum of rats were detected. On this basis, the effect of SZRD on PCPA-induced insomnia rats was preliminarily assessed. The metabolic profile of rat serum samples was further analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time of flight-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS). Principal component analysis(PCA) and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA) were combined with t-test and variable importance in projection(VIP) to identify differential metabolites, and MetaboAnalyst 5.0 was employed for pathway analysis. The results showed that SZRD could improve the pathological changes of brain and liver tissues, increase the levels of neurotransmitters 5-HT, DA, and GABA in hippocampus and the level of PGD2 in hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis(HPA axis), and reduce the levels of IL-1ß and TNF-α in serum of insomnia rats. Metabonomics analysis yielded 12 significantly changed potential metabolites: 5-aminovaleric acid, N-acetylvaline, L-proline, L-glutamate, L-valine, DL-norvaline, D(-)-arginine, pyroglutamic acid, 1-methylguanine, L-isoleucine, 7-ethoxy-4-methylcoumarin, and phthalic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester(MEHP), which were related with multiple biochemical processes including metabolism of D-glutamine and D-glutamate, metabolism of alanine, aspartate, and glutamate, metabolism of arginine and proline, arginine biosynthesis, glutathione metabolism. These metabolic changes indicated that SZRD can improve the metabolism in insomnia rats by regulating amino acid metabolism.

RESUMO

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common type of persistent arrhythmia. Although its incidence has been increasing, the pathogenesis of AF in stroke remains unclear. In this study, a total of 30 participants were recruited, including 10 controls, 10 patients with AF and 10 patients with AF and stroke (AF + STROKE). Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, and functional annotation of DEGs, comparative toxicogenomic database analysis associated with cardiovascular diseases, and predictions of miRNAs of hub genes were performed. Using RT-qPCR, biological process and support vector machine neural networks, numerous DEGs were found to be related to AF. HBG1, SNCA and GYPB were found to be upregulated in the AF group. Higher expression of hub genes in AF and AF + STROKE groups was detected via RT-PCR. Upon training the biological process neural network of SNCA and GYPB for HBG1, only small differences were detected. Based on the support vector machine, the predicted value of SNCA and GYPB for HBG1 was 0.9893. Expression of the hub genes of HBG1, SNCA and GYPB might therefore be significantly correlated to AF. These genes are involved in the incidence of AF complicated by stroke, and may serve as targets for early diagnosis and treatment.

RESUMO

The presence of metastable Bernal stacking boron nitride is verified by combining second harmonic generation (SHG) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The scanning confocal cryomicroscope, operating in the deep-ultraviolet range, shows a one-to-one correlation between inversion symmetry breaking probed by SHG and the detection of an intense PL line at ∼6.035 eV, the specific signature of the noncentrosymmetric Bernal stacking. The coherent character of the Bernal phase in boron nitride crystals is demonstrated by two-photon excitation spectroscopy. Direct and indirect excitons are simultaneously detected in the emission spectrum; they are quasi-degenerate, in agreement with theoretical predictions for Bernal boron nitride. The transition from AA' to AB stacking is characterized by an intense emission from stacking faults at the grain boundaries of hexagonal and Bernal boron nitride crystals.

RESUMO

The blindness caused by cornea diseases has exacerbated many patients all over the world. The disadvantages of using donor corneas may cause challenges to recovering eye sight. Developing artificial corneas with biocompatibility may provide another option to recover blindness. The techniques of making individual artificial corneas that fit the biometric parameters for each person can be used to help these patients effectively. In this study, artificial corneas with different shapes (spherical, aspherical, and biconic shapes) are designed and they could be made by two different hydrogel polymers that form an interpenetrating polymer network for their excellent mechanical strength. Two designed cases for the artificial corneas are considered in the simulations: to optimize the artificial cornea for patients who still wear glasses and to assume that the patient does not wear glasses after transplanting with the optimized artificial cornea. The results show that the artificial corneas can efficiently decrease the imaging blur. Increasing asphericity of the current designed artificial corneas can be helpful for the imaging corrections. The differences in the optical performance of the optimized artificial corneas by using different materials are small. It is found that the optimized artificial cornea can reduce the high order aberrations for the second case.

RESUMO

Hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) enable the direct manipulation of mid-infrared light at nanometer scales, many orders of magnitude below the free-space light wavelength. High-resolution monochromated electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) facilitates measurement of excitations with energies extending into the mid-infrared while maintaining nanoscale spatial resolution, making it ideal for detecting HPhPs. The electron beam is a precise source and probe of HPhPs, which allows the observation of nanoscale confinement in HPhP structures and directly extract hBN polariton dispersions for both modes in the bulk of the flake and modes along the edge. The measurements reveal technologically important nontrivial phenomena, such as localized polaritons induced by environmental heterogeneity, enhanced and suppressed excitation due to 2D interference, and strong modification of high-momenta excitations such as edge-confined polaritons by nanoscale heterogeneity on edge boundaries. The work opens exciting prospects for the design of real-world optical mid-infrared devices based on hyperbolic polaritons.

RESUMO

Coherent optical excitations in two-dimensional (2D) materials, 2D polaritons, can generate a plethora of optical phenomena that arise from the extraordinary dispersion relations that do not exist in regular materials. Probing of the dynamical phenomena of 2D polaritons requires simultaneous spatial and temporal imaging capabilities and could reveal unknown coherent optical phenomena in 2D materials. Here, we present a spatiotemporal measurement of 2D wave packet dynamics, from its formation to its decay, using an ultrafast transmission electron microscope driven by femtosecond midinfrared pulses. The ability to coherently excite phonon-polariton wave packets and probe their evolution in a nondestructive manner reveals intriguing dispersion-dependent dynamics that includes splitting of multibranch wave packets and, unexpectedly, wave packet deceleration and acceleration. Having access to the full spatiotemporal dynamics of 2D wave packets can be used to illuminate puzzles in topological polaritons and discover exotic nonlinear optical phenomena in 2D materials.
