RESUMO

Prunus zhengheensis, an extremely rare population of apricots, originated in warm South-East China and is an excellent material for genetic breeding. However, most apricots and two related species (P. sibirica, P. mandshurica) are found in the cold northern regions in China and the mechanism of their distribution is still unclear. In addition, the classification status of P. zhengheensis is controversial. Thus, we generated a high-quality haplotype-resolved genome for P. zhengheensis, exploring key genetic variations in its adaptation and the causes of phylogenetic incongruence. We found extensive phylogenetic discordances between the nuclear and organelle phylogenies of P. zhengheensis, which could be explained by incomplete lineage sorting. A 242.22-Mb pan-genome of the Armeniaca section was developed with 13 chromosomal genomes. Importantly, we identified a 566-bp insertion in the promoter of the HSFA1d gene in apricot and showed that the activity of the HSFA1d promoter increased under low temperatures. In addition, HSFA1d overexpression in Arabidopsis thaliana indicated that HSFA1d positively regulated plant growth under chilling. Therefore, we hypothesized that the insertion in the promoter of HSFA1d in apricot improved its low-temperature adaptation, allowing it to thrive in relatively cold locations. The findings help explain the weather adaptability of Armeniaca plants.

Background: Bibliometrics can trace general research trends in a particular field. Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), as a group of rare genetic diseases, seriously affect the quality of life of patients and their families. Scholars have devoted themselves to studying MPS's pathogenesis and treatment modalities and have published many papers. Therefore, we conducted a bibliometric and visual study of the top 100 most highly cited articles to provide researchers with an indication of the current state of research and potential directions in the field. Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection was searched for articles on MPS from 1 January 1900, to 8 November 2023, and the top 100 most cited articles were screened. The title, year of publication, institution, country, and first author of the articles were extracted and statistically analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2007. Keyword co-occurrence and collaborative networks were analyzed using VOSviewer 1.6.16. Results: A total of 9,273 articles were retrieved, and the top 100 most cited articles were filtered out. The articles were cited 18,790 times, with an annual average of 188 citations (122-507). Forty-two journals published these articles, with Molecular Genetics and Metabolism and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States being the most published journal (N = 8), followed by Pediatrics (N = 7), Blood (N = 6). The United States (N = 68), the UK (N = 25), and Germany (N = 20) were the top contributing countries. The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (N = 20) and the University of North Carolina (N = 18) were the most contributing institutions. Muenzer J was the most prolific author (N = 14). Conclusion: We conducted a bibliometric and visual analysis of the top 100 cited articles in MPS. This study identifies the most influential articles currently available in the field of MPS, which provides a good basis for a better understanding of the disease and informs future research directions.

Breast cancer is the most frequent cause of death from cancer in 12 regions of the world. Among the breast cancer subtypes, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive, leading to an adverse prognosis. Thus, we aimed to identify the top 100 most cited articles regarding TNBC through bibliometric analyses, to explore their current impact and publication status. We searched TNBC-related articles from the Web of Science core database on September 19, 2021, and ranked them by citation in descending order. Information extracted from the top 100 most cited articles, included title, author, institution, country, year, publication, Journal Cited Rank, citation, Web of Science category, were extracted by two researchers independently. VOSviewer was used to analyze data, such as co-authoring institutions, and author cooperation. Descriptive statistical analysis of data was performed using Excel. Citations from the top 100 most cited articles ranged from 225 to 2753, and all were published after 2007. The top 100 most cited articles were published in 38 journals, with the Journal of Clinical Oncology published the most (n = 15), followed by Clinical Cancer Research (n = 11), Lancet Oncology(n = 6). Eric P. Winer from USA, who participated 12 articles, was the most frequently published author. The USA (n = 71) was the country with the most contributions to TNBC. The most prevalent topics included: clinical features, molecular subtypes, relevant influencing factors, exploration of treatment options and prognosis of TNBC. The leading institution was the Dana Farber Cancer Institute (n = 20) from the USA. This is the first bibliometric analysis on the TNBC 100 most cited article. We provided insights into the most cited articles on TNBC and listed a detailed description of their characteristics and trend, which provides ideas for further study.

Prunus zhengheensis is a novel species originated in Fujian province, China. However, there is no further information available on its classification and molecular biology study. In this study, we first report the complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence of P. zhengheensis. The cp genome of P. zhengheensis is 158,106 bp and GC content is 36.73%, is a circular structure composed of LSC (large single copy), SSC (small single copy), and IR (inverted repeat) regions, with the size of the three regions being 86,321 bp, 18,999 bp and 26,393 bp, respectively. The cp genome of P. zhengheensis contains 130 genes, and 242 SSRs are identified in the cp genome. The comparative analysis of cp genomes in eight Prunus plants demonstrates the subtle divergences occur in the protein-coding gene rps18, rps12, psbF, rpl33, matK, and rbcL, and that the KA/KS nucleotide substitution ratio of the ndhF of P. zhengheensis and P. armeniaca is 1.79636. The phylogenetic results indicate that the P. zhengheensis is closely related to P. mume, compared to other species of Prunus. Our research results provide the important genomic information for molecular phylogeny of P. zhengheensis.
