RESUMO
Foreign bodies in the nasal fossa are frequent and generally occur in children. In developing countries, access to an ENT specialist can be difficult or impossible. The authors describe several extraction techniques with special emphasis on those best suited to areas with limited access to specialist facilities. Using illustrations, a step-by-step description of the so-called "hook" technique is given. This simple technique allows successful removal of a foreign body from the nasal fossa in almost all cases.

INTRODUCTION: The classical symptoms of orbital tumors are modified in the event of an anophthalmic socket. CASE REPORT: We report a case of primary malignant neoplasm of the lacrimal gland in an enucleated 70-year-old women. DISCUSSION: Patients with an anophthalmic orbit often present postenucleation socket syndrome: problems of tolerance and rocking of the ocular prothesis, enophthalmos, ptosis, lower eyelid ectropion. Development of a malignant tumor of the lacrimal gland is however exceptional. An oversized lacrimal gland is suggestive of tumor development. Rigorous clinical and radiological follow-up (CT, MRI) is essential. We discuss diagnostic and therapeutic aspects including the type of exenteration, radiotherapy, and reconstruction technique.

The authors report two cases of Mondor's disease after mammoplasty reduction's surgery. This pathology rare and benign should be known by all surgeons, because it could be a postoperative discord, especially in these lithigious times. If the evolution is favourable in one or two months, the therapeutic urgency is to reassure the patient.

Noma is a disease specific to developing countries. Early antibiotic treatment can stop disease progression. Surviving patients may present disfigurement with functional and cosmetic sequels. The purpose of this report is to describe treatment of active disease and its sequels. Treatment of defects requires reconstructive surgery. Surgical modalities depend on the extent and location of lesions, available technical facilities and surgeon skill. Various flap techniques can be used ranging from simple flaps and autoplasty to complex procedures involving microsurgery.

Thoracic and abdominal wounds are characterized by their diversity, their possible danger and the necessity of a successful diagnosis and therapy strategy. Management of thoracic wounds and indications of surgical treatment are conditioned by airway and hemodynamic states, paraclinical exams and chest drainage. The approach of abdominal wounds is based upon their possible penetrating character. Surgical indications, even if very discussed, are still wider. Thoraco-abdominal wounds could concern the diaphragm and are remarkable for their surgical strategy.
