Evaluación de la calidad de los servicios bibliotecarios: un reto actual en bibliotecas médicas / Quality Assessment of the Library Services: a Current Challenge in Medical Libraries

La evaluación de los servicios constituye una herramienta valiosa para determinar si la biblioteca está respondiendo a las necesidades de los usuarios, teniendo en cuenta que la satisfacción constituye el objetivo primordial de cada centro de información; lo que permite establecer un diagnóstico, identificar limitantes y deficiencias para determinar en qué condiciones se encuentra y definir estrategias que permitan superarlas. La calidad de los servicios debe determinarse desde la satisfacción de los usuarios hasta los trabajos de origen interno, tomando como punto de partida la calidad de la gestión, los procesos técnicos y los resultados de la biblioteca como servicio. El objetivo del presente artículo fue establecer una panorámica de los aspectos a tener en cuenta para la evaluación de los servicios bibliotecarios.(AU)

The evaluation of the services constitutes a valuable tool to determine if the library is corresponding the needs of the users, taking into consideration that satisfaction is the primary objective of every information center; it allows establishing a diagnostic; identifying limitations and deficiencies to determine it's conditions and define strategies to overcome them. The quality of the services should be determined from the satisfaction of users up to the works of origin internal, taking as starting point the quality of the management, technical processes and the results of the library as a service. The objective of this article is to establish a vision of the aspects to take into account for the evaluation of the library services.(AU)

Diseño de la Biblioteca digital del Hospital Vladimir I Lenin de Holguín / Design of the Digital Library of Hospital Vladimir I Lenin, of Holguín

Se realizó un estudio de innovación tecnológica en la Biblioteca del Hospital General Universitario Vladimir Ilich Lenin de Holguín, con el objetivo de diseñar una biblioteca digital que recopile literatura médica, nacional e internacional, clasificada por especialidades, útil a los especialistas que laboran en la institución. La necesidad de acceder a un volumen creciente de información de manera rápida, económica y ordenada, demandaron de la creación una biblioteca digital adecuada a las exigencias de la institución con fines docentes y de investigación. Para esto, se emplearon MySQL como sistema gestor de base de datos y Web Apache como servidor. La información puede recuperarse por autor, título y descriptor del asunto, y puede obtenerse copia de los textos completos de los documentos en formato PDF, con el propósito de facilitar el acceso a la información que requieren en particular actividades como la asistencia, la docencia y la investigación médica(AU)...

A study of technological innovation at the Library of Vladimir Ilich Lenin General University Hospital of Holguín was performed. The objective of this work was to design a digital library to compile the national and international medical literature of different specialties of interest for hospital specialists.
