RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Body mass index (BMI) and lipid disorders are both known to be strongly associated with the development of diabetes, however, the indirect effect of lipid parameters in the BMI-related diabetes risk is currently unknown. This study aimed to investigate the mediating role of lipid parameters in the association of BMI with diabetes risk. METHODS: We assessed the association of diabetes risk with BMI, as well as lipid parameters including high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-CF and LDL-CS), triglycerides(TG), total cholesterol(TC), remnant cholesterol(RC), non-HDL-C, and combined indices of lipid parameters with HDL-C (RC/HDL-C ratio, TG/HDL-C ratio, TC/HDL-C ratio, non-HDL/HDL-C ratio, LDL/HDL-C ratio) using data from 15,453 subjects in the NAGALA project. Mediation models were used to explore the mediating role of lipid parameters in the association of BMI with diabetes risk, and mediation percentages were calculated for quantifying the strength of the indirect effects. Finally, receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis was used to compare the accuracy of BMI and BMI combined with lipid parameters in predicting incident diabetes. RESULTS: Multivariate regression models, adjusted for confounding factors, demonstrated robust associations of lipid parameters, BMI, with diabetes risk, with the exception of TC, LDL-CF, LDL-CS, and non-HDL-C. Mediation analysis showed that lipid parameters except TC, LDL-CF, LDL-CS, and Non-HDL-C were involved in and mediated the association of BMI with diabetes risk, with the largest mediation percentage being the RC/HDL-C ratio, which was as high as 40%; it is worth mentioning that HDL-C and HDL-C-related lipid ratio parameters also play an important mediating role in the association between BMI and diabetes, with the mediator proportion being greater than 30%. Finally, based on the ROC results, we found that the prediction performance of all lipid parameters in the current study except TC was significantly improved when combined with BMI. CONCLUSION: Our fresh findings suggested that lipid parameters partially mediated the association of BMI with diabetes risk; this result indicated that in the context of diabetes risk screening and disease management, it is important to not only monitor BMI but also pay attention to lipid parameters, particularly HDL-C and HDL-C-related lipid ratio parameters.

RESUMO

As the rapid and accurate screening of infectious diseases can provide meaningful information for outbreak prevention and control, as well as owing to the existing limitations of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), it is imperative to have new and validated detection techniques for SARS-CoV-2. Therefore, the rationale for outlining the techniques used to detect SARS-CoV-2 proteins and performing a comprehensive comparison to serve as a practical benchmark for future identification of similar viral proteins is clear. This review highlights the urgent need to strengthen pandemic preparedness by emphasizing the importance of integrated measures. These include improved tools for pathogen characterization, optimized societal precautions, the establishment of early warning systems, and the deployment of highly sensitive diagnostics for effective surveillance, triage, and resource management. Additionally, with an improved understanding of the virus' protein structure, considerable advances in targeted detection, treatment, and prevention strategies are expected to greatly improve our ability to respond to future outbreaks.

RESUMO

The most prevalent glycoprotein on the influenza virus envelope is called hemagglutinin (HA), yet little is known about its involvement in the pathophysiology and etiology of severe influenza pneumonia. Here, after stimulating human bronchial epithelial cells (16-HBE) and mice with HA of H1N1 for 12 h, we investigated the proliferation, migration, inflammatory cytokines expression, and apoptosis in 16-HBE and the pathological damage in mouse lung tissue. The expression of inflammatory cytokines plasminogen activator inhibitor 1(PAI-1), urokinase-type (uPA) and tissue-type (tPA) plasminogen activators, and apoptosis were all enhanced by HA, which also prevented the proliferation and migration of bronchial epithelial cells. HA enhanced up-regulated PAI-1, uPA, and tPA protein expression within mouse lung tissue and caused lung injury. In conclusion, HA alone, but not the whole H1N1 virus, induces lung tissue injury by inhibiting cell proliferation and migration, while promoting the expression of inflammatory cytokines and apoptosis.

RESUMO

The various wastes generated by silkworm silk textiles that are no longer in use are increasing, which is causing considerable waste and contamination. This issue has attracted widespread attention in countries that use a lot of silk. Therefore, enhancing the mechanical properties of regenerated silk fibroin (RSF) and enriching the function of silk are important directions to expand the comprehensive utilization of silk products. In this paper, the preparation of RSF/Al2O3 nanoparticles (NPs) hybrid fiber with different Al2O3 NPs contents by wet spinning and its novel performance are reported. It was found that the RSF/Al2O3 NPs hybrid fiber was a multifunctional fiber material with thermal insulation and UV resistance. Natural light tests showed that the temperature rise rate of RSF/Al2O3 NPs hybrid fibers was slower than that of RSF fibers, and the average temperature rose from 29.1 °C to about 35.4 °C in 15 min, while RSF fibers could rise to about 40.1 °C. UV absorption tests showed that the hybrid fiber was resistant to UV radiation. Furthermore, the addition of Al2O3 NPs may improve the mechanical properties of the hybrid fibers. This was because the blending of Al2O3 NPs promoted the self-assembly of ß-sheets in the RSF reaction mixture in a dose-dependent manner, which was manifested as the RSF/Al2O3 NPs hybrid fibers had more ß-sheets, crystallinity, and a smaller crystal size. In addition, RSF/Al2O3 NPs hybrid fibers had good biocompatibility and durability in micro-alkaline sweat environments. The above performance makes the RSF/Al2O3 NPs hybrid fibers promising candidates for application in heat-insulating and UV-resistant fabrics as well as military clothing.

RESUMO

Traditional methods of treating lung cancer have not been very effective, contributing to the disease's high incidence and death rate. As a result, Fn/Tn-PLGA NPs, a novel directed fucoidan and trabectedin complex loaded PLGA nanoparticle, were produced to investigate the role of developing therapeutic strategies for NSCLC and A549 cell lines. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to examine protein expression and mRNA expression, respectively. Protein activity was knocked down using specific inhibitors and short disrupting RNA transfection. Lastly, cancer cell lines H1299 and A549 were subjected to an in vitro cytotoxicity experiment. Commercial assays were used to assess the levels of cell viability, ROS and proliferation found that Fn/Tn-PLGA NPs effectively killed lung cancer cells. To examine cell death, annexin flow cytometry was employed. In addition, a scratch-wound assay was conducted to assess the migration effects of Fn/Tn-PLGA NPs in a laboratory setting. Finally, PLGA NPs covered with a mix of fucoidan and trabectedin could be a good vehicle for targeting cancerous tissues with chemotherapeutic drugs.

RESUMO

Introduction: The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 Omicron subvariants has presented a significant challenge to global health, as these variants show resistance to most antibodies developed early in the pandemic. Therapeutic antibodies with potent efficacy to the Omicron variants are urgently demanded. Methods: Utilizing the rapid antibody discovery platform, Berkeley Lights Beacon, we isolated two monoclonal neutralizing antibodies, 2173-A6 and 3462-A4. These antibodies were isolated from individuals who recently recovered from Omicron infections. Results: Both antibodies, 2173-A6 and 3462-A4, demonstrated high affinity for the RBD and effectively neutralized pseudoviruses from various Omicron lineages, including BA.4/5, XBB.1.16, XBB.1.5, and EG.5.1. This neutralization was achieved through binding to identical or overlapping epitopes. Discussion: The use of the Beacon platform enabled the rapid isolation and identification of effective neutralizing antibodies within less than 10 days. This process significantly accelerates the development of novel therapeutic antibodies, potentially reducing the time required to respond to unknown infectious diseases in the future.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Tirzepatide is a novel glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide and glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist. In the SURPASS-AP-Combo trial, once-weekly tirzepatide was associated with improved glycemic control and weight loss versus insulin glargine and was generally well tolerated in an Asia-Pacific, predominately Chinese, population with type 2 diabetes (T2D). This post hoc subgroup analysis of SURPASS-AP-Combo assessed the potential influence of patient baseline characteristics on the efficacy and safety of tirzepatide. METHODS: Changes from baseline to week 40 in HbA1c, body weight, fasting serum glucose (FSG), and daily glucose average from self-measured blood glucose profiles were analyzed by potential influential factors including age (< 65, ≥ 65 years), sex, baseline HbA1c (≤ 8.5, > 8.5%), body mass index (BMI) (< 25, ≥ 25 kg/m2), body weight (< 75, ≥ 75 kg), duration of diabetes (< 10, ≥ 10 years), and concomitant oral antihyperglycemic medications (metformin, metformin plus sulphonylurea). Gastrointestinal adverse events and hypoglycemia were also evaluated. RESULTS: At week 40, all tirzepatide doses were associated with reduced HbA1c, body weight, FSG, and daily glucose average from baseline in all subgroups. Greater HbA1c reductions were achieved in patients with higher baseline HbA1c across all tirzepatide doses, higher body weight with 10 mg and younger age with 15 mg tirzepatide. Greater reductions in body weight were observed in patients with higher body weight across all tirzepatide doses, lower baseline HbA1c with 5 mg and higher BMI with 5 mg tirzepatide. CONCLUSIONS: In this post hoc analysis, tirzepatide was associated with reduced blood glucose and body weight in a predominantly Chinese population with T2D across different subgroups, consistent with previous reports for tirzepatide. RESUMO

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a highly prevalent chronic complication in type 2 diabetes (T2D) for which no effective treatment is available. In this multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 3 clinical trial in China, patients with T2D with DPN received acetyllevocarnitine hydrochloride (ALC; 1,500 mg/day; n = 231) or placebo (n = 227) for 24 weeks, during which antidiabetic therapy was maintained. A significantly greater reduction in modified Toronto clinical neuropathy score (mTCNS) as the primary end point occurred in the ALC group (-6.9 ± 5.3 points) compared with the placebo group (-4.7 ± 5.2 points; P < 0.001). Effect sizes (ALC 1.31 and placebo 0.85) represented a 0.65-fold improvement in ALC treatment efficacy. The mTCNS values for pain did not differ significantly between the two groups (P = 0.066), whereas the remaining 10 components of mTCNS showed significant improvement in the ALC group compared with the placebo group (P < 0.05 for all). Overall results of electrophysiological measurements were inconclusive, with significant improvement in individual measurements limited primarily to the ulnar and median nerves. Incidence of treatment-emergent adverse events was 51.2% in the ALC group, among which urinary tract infection (5.9%) and hyperlipidemia (7.9%) were most frequent.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the changes of follicular helper T (TFH) and follicular regulatory T (TFR) cell subpopulations in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and their significance. METHODS: Peripheral blood was collected from 58 NSCLC patients at different stages and 38 healthy controls. Flow cytometry was used to detect TFH cell subpopulation based on programmed death 1 (PD-1) and inducible co-stimulator (ICOS), and TFR cell subpopulation based on cluster determinant 45RA (CD45RA) and forkhead box protein P3 (FoxP3). The levels of interleukin-10 (IL-10), interleukin-17a (IL-17a), interleukin-21 (IL-21), and transforming growth factor-ß (TGF-ß) in the plasma were measured, and changes in circulating B cell subsets and plasma IgG levels were also analyzed. The correlation between serum cytokeratin fragment antigen 21-1 (CYFRA 21-1) levels and TFH, TFR, or B cell subpopulations was further explored. RESULTS: The TFR/TFH ratio increased significantly in NSCLC patients. The CD45RA+FoxP3int TFR subsets were increased, with their proportions increasing in stages II to III and decreasing in stage IV. PD-1+ICOS+TFH cells showed a downward trend with increasing stages. Plasma IL-21 and TGF-ß concentrations were increased in NSCLC patients compared with healthy controls. Plasmablasts, plasma IgG levels, and CD45RA+FoxP3int TFR cells showed similar trends. TFH numbers and plasmablasts were positively correlated with CYFRA 21-1 in stages I-III and negatively correlated with CYFRA 21-1 in stage IV. CONCLUSION: Circulating TFH and TFR cell subpopulations and plasmablasts dynamically change in different stages of NSCLC, which is associated with serum CYFRA 21-1 levels and reflects disease progression.

RESUMO

Conversion of CO2 into value-added products by electrocatalysis provides a promising way to mitigate energy and environmental problems. However, it is greatly limited by the scaling relationship between the adsorption strength of intermediates. Herein, Mn and Ni single-atom catalysts, homonuclear dual-atom catalysts (DACs), and heteronuclear DACs are synthesized. Aberration-corrected annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy (ADF-STEM) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy characterization uncovered the existence of the Mn─Ni pair in Mn─Ni DAC. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy reveal that Mn donated electrons to Ni atoms in Mn─Ni DAC. Consequently, Mn─Ni DAC displays the highest CO Faradaic efficiency of 98.7% at -0.7 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode (vs RHE) with CO partial current density of 16.8 mA cm-2. Density functional theory calculations disclose that the scaling relationship between the binding strength of intermediates is broken, resulting in superior performance for ECR to CO over Mn─Ni─NC catalyst.

RESUMO

Background: Early and integrated palliative care is recommended for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Unfortunately, palliative care delivery remains poor due to various barriers in practice. This study describes various palliative care delivery models in a real-world cohort of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, examines the predictors of survival in this cohort of patients, and explores the impact of palliative care on survival. Design: Charts were reviewed retrospectively and analyzed. The primary outcome was survival during a 4-year follow-up period. Two multivariable models were created to examine the impact of therapeutic strategies including palliative intervention on survival. Results: 298 patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis were enrolled from 3 interstitial lung disease clinics with different palliative care models in Edmonton, Canada; Bristol, UK; and Kingston, Canada. 200 (67%) patients received palliative care and 119 (40%) died during follow up. Primary palliative care models (Edmonton and Bristol) delivered palliative care to 96% and 100% respectively compared 21% in the referral model (Queens). Palliative care [adjusted hazard ratio (aHR) .28 (.12-.65)] along with the use of antifibrotics [aHR .56 (.37-.84)], and body mass index >30 [aHR .47 (.37-.85)] reduced the risk of death in our idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis cohort. Opioid use was associated with worse survival [aHR 2.11 (1.30-23.43)]. Conclusions: Both palliative care and antifibrotic use were associated with survival benefit in this cohort of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis after adjusting for covariates. The benefit was seen despite differences in disease severity and different palliative care delivery models.

RESUMO

The use of umbrella species to promote biodiversity conservation is practiced worldwide. The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) an iconic species for world wildlife conservation, that inhabits regions with significant biodiversity. Given that the functions at wildlife of different trophic levels and in different body size groups are different within the ecosystem, it is unknown whether those groups of wildlife co-occurring with giant pandas are each likewise protected. To examine the umbrella effect of giant pandas on sympatric species, we used an extensive dataset of wildlife from more than 78% of giant panda habitats. We analysed the changes in distribution for four wildlife categories (large carnivores, large herbivores, medium carnivores and medium herbivores) using a generalized linear mixed model, and the underlying driving factors using binomial logistic regression models. Changes in forests in giant panda habitats were evaluated using Fragstats. The results have shown that the counts of herbivores and medium carnivores increased significantly during the decade. However, those of large carnivores significantly declined. Forest cover and nature reserves showed significant and positive effects on wildlife in 2001 and 2011, while the human population had significant and negative impacts on the herbivores and carnivores. Our results have also suggested that there has been a slight alleviation in forest fragmentation in areas unaffected by earthquakes. We concluded that the umbrella strategy of using the giant panda as an umbrella species achieved partial success by promoting the recovery of herbivores and medium carnivores. Meanwhile, this has indicated that the strategy was not sufficient for large carnivores, and therefore not enough for local ecosystems, given the critical role of large carnivores. We have suggested integrating habitat patches, controlling human disturbance, and preparing for potential human-wildlife conflict management in the Giant Panda National Park to restore large carnivore populations and maintain ecosystem functioning.

RESUMO

With the improvement in people's living standards, the development and application of smart textiles are receiving increasing attention. In this study, a carbon nanosurface was successfully coated with a SiO2 layer to form C@SiO2 nanomaterials, which improved the dispersion of carbon nanomaterials in an aqueous solution and enhanced the absorption of light by the carbon nanoparticles. C@SiO2 nanoparticles were coupled on the surface of silk fabric with the silane coupling agent KH570 to form C@SiO2 nanosilk fabric. The silk fabric that was subjected to such surface modification was endowed with a special photothermal function. The results obtained with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) showed that C@SiO2 nanoparticles were successfully modified on the surface of the silk fabric. In addition, under the irradiation of near-infrared light with a power of 20 W and a wavelength of 808 nm, the C@SiO2 nanosilk fabric experienced rapid warming from 23 °C to 60 °C within 30 s. After subjecting the functional fabric to hundreds of photothermal experiments and multiple washes, the photothermal efficiency remained largely unchanged and proved to be durable and stable. In addition, the thermogravimetric (TG) analysis results showed that the C@SiO2 nanoparticles contributed to the thermal stability of the silk fabric. The UV transmittance results indicated that C@SiO2 nanofabric is UV-resistant. The silk modification method developed in this study is low-cost, efficient, and environmentally friendly. It has some prospects for future applications in the textile industry.

RESUMO

Human papillomavirus (HPV)-induced oropharyngeal cancer now exceeds HPV-induced cervical cancer, with a noticeable sex bias. Although it is well established that women have a more proficient immune system, it remains unclear whether immune control of oral papillomavirus infections differs between sexes. In the current study, we use genetically modified mice to target CCR2 and Stat1 pathways, with the aim of investigating the role of both innate and adaptive immune responses in clearing oral papillomavirus, using our established papillomavirus (MmuPV1) infection model. Persistent oral MmuPV1 infection was detected in Rag1ko mice with T and B cell deficiencies. Meanwhile, other tested mice were susceptible to MmuPV1 infections but were able to clear the virus. We found sex differences in key myeloid cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells in the infected tongues of wild type and Stat1ko mice but these differences were not observed in CCR2ko mice. Intriguingly, we also observed a sex difference in anti-MmuPV1 E4 antibody levels, especially for two IgG isotypes: IgG2b and IgG3. However, we found comparable numbers of interferon-gamma-producing CD8 T cells stimulated by E6 and E7 in both sexes. These findings suggest that males and females may use different components of innate and adaptive immune responses to control papillomavirus infections in the MmuPV1 mouse model. The observed sex difference in immune responses, especially in myeloid cells including dendritic cell (DC) subsets, may have potential diagnostic and prognostic values for HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancer.

RESUMO

To disperse fatty acids in aqueous solution, choline, a quaternary ammonium ion, has been used recently. So far, only the self-assembly of myristic acid (MA) in the presence of choline hydroxide as a function of the molar ratio has been investigated, and, thus, the current understanding of these fatty acid systems is still limited. We investigated the self-assembly of palmitic acid (PA) in the presence of choline hydroxide (ChOH) as a function of the molar ratio (R) between ChOH and PA. The self-assemblies were characterized by phase contrast microscopy, cryo-TEM, small-angle X-ray scattering, and 2H NMR. The ionization state of PA was determined by pH, conductivity, and FT-IR measurements. With increase in R, various self-assembled structures, including vesicles, lamellar phase, rigid membranes (large sheets, tubules, cones, and polyhedrals), and micelles, form in the PA/ChOH system, different from those of the MA/ChOH system. The change in R induces pH variation and, consequently, a change in the PA ionization state, which, in turn, regulates the molecular interactions, including hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interaction, leading to various self-assemblies. Temperature is an important factor used to tune the self-assembly transitions. The fatty acid choline systems studied here potentially may be applicable in medicine, chemical engineering, and biotechnology.

RESUMO

Carrimycin is a potential immune-regulating agent for sepsis in patients with tumors. In this study, we investigated its effects on inflammation and immune function in tumor patients with sepsis. In total, 120 participants were randomized to receive either carrimycin treatment (400 mg/day) (n = 62) or placebo (n = 58) for 7 days. The primary outcomes were immune-related indicators. Subsequently, patients were stratified into two subgroups (CD4 < 38.25% and CD8 < 25.195%). Ninety-nine participants were analyzed: 47 and 52 in the carrimycin and placebo groups, respectively. HLA-DR levels were rapidly increased in the carrimycin group; however, the placebo group initially experienced a decline in HLA-DR level at 1 day after administration. In the subgroup with CD4 < 38.25%, the carrimycin group exhibited significantly higher HLA-DR levels than the placebo group (2.270, P = 0.023) 1 day after administration and the degree of increase in HLA-DR in the carrimycin group was higher than that in the placebo group (2.057, P = 0.040). In the CD8 < 25.195% subgroup, the carrimycin group demonstrated significantly higher levels of CD8+ T cells than the placebo group at 3 (2.300,P = 0.027) and 5 (2.106, P = 0.035) days after administration. Carrimycin intervention led to significant reductions in the SOFA, APACHE II, PCT, and CRP levels. No adverse events were observed. In tumor patients with sepsis, particularly in those experiencing immunological suppression, carrimycin effectively regulates immune responses by increasing HLA-DR and CD8+ T cell levels and plays an anti-infective role, reducing disease severity. RESUMO

This study aimed to explore the relationship between diabetic retinopathy (DR) and diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) to provide evidence for the prevention of diabetic complications. PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Wanfang Data databases were searched from their inception until March 2023 for studies on the relationship between DR and DFU. Two researchers independently screened the literature and extracted data according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The meta-analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.3 software. Eleven articles referring to 10 208 patients were included, of whom 2191 patients had DFU and 8017 patients did not have DFU. The meta-analysis results showed that DR significantly increased the incidence of DFU (47.94% vs. 16.38%; OR, 4.13; 95% CI, 2.33-7.33; p < 0.001). The results of this study suggest that patients with DR have a higher risk of developing DFU, highlighting the importance of regular screening for these two complications to prevent serious adverse outcomes of diabetes. However, further high-quality studies are required to validate the conclusions of the present study.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Recent debate on the race correction factor in creatinine-based estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) has led to the development of a new race-independent equation (Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration, CKD-EPI_2021). Previously, some institutions have already modified the early version of the CKD-EPI or Modification of Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) equations by removing the race factors (CKD-EPI_2009_non-Black (NB), MDRD_NB) for Black populations although this approach remains controversial. METHODS: In this study, the CKD-EPI_2009_NB, MDRD_NB, and European Kidney Function Consortium (EKFC) equations were compared directly with the CKD-EPI_2021 equation in eGFR calculation, chronic kidney disease (CKD) diagnosis, and staging in a local population. RESULTS: These 3 previous methods underestimated eGFR compared to CKD-EPI_2021 for eGFR < 90 mL/min/1.73 m2 but overestimated eGFR at the high end (>120 mL/min/1.73 m2). Around the CKD diagnosis cutoff (60 mL/min/1.73 m2), both MDRD_NB and EFKC equations resulted in an increase in CKD cases compared to CKD-EPI_2021. CKD-EPI_2009_NB demonstrated a similar trend although the difference was not statistically significant. In a population with low eGFR (<60 mL/min/1.73 m2), the EKFC equation showed a CKD staging pattern significantly different from that by CKD-EPI_2021, but all 3 previous methods resulted in a similar number of end-stage renal failure cases. In general, the EKFC equation demonstrated a weaker agreement in eGFR calculation and concordance in classification with the CKD-EPI_2021 equation than MDRD_NB and CKD-EPI_2009_NB. CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides a direct visual comparison to demonstrate the potential clinical impact between 3 previously used race-independent methods and the CKD-EPI_2021 equation and aids the communication with healthcare providers during the implementation of this new equation.

RESUMO

Ganodermasides E-H (1-4), four new ergosterol derivatives and two known ones (5 and 6) were isolated from the fermentation of the endophytic fungus Epicoccum poae DJ-F in the stems of Euphorbia royleana Boiss. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis, including extensive 1D NMR, 2D NMR, and HRESIMS techniques. All the isolated compounds were tested for their vitro antibacterial activity. Compounds 1-6 showed weak inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus epidermidis, Pseudomonas syringae, and Ralstonia solanacearum with MIC values ranging from 0.4 to 3.6 mM.
