RESUMO

Background: The diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) using high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) remains challenging in patients with kidney dysfunction. Methods: In this large, multicenter cohort study, a total of 20 912 adults who underwent coronary angiography were included. Kidney function-specific cut-off values of hs-cTnT were determined to improve the specificity without sacrificing sensitivity, as compared with that using traditional cut-off value (14 ng/L) in the normal kidney function group. The diagnostic accuracy of the novel cut-off values was validated in an independent validation cohort. Results: In the derivation cohort (n = 12 900), 3247 patients had an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) <60 mL/min/1.73 m2. Even in the absence of AMI, 50.2% of participants with eGFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2 had a hs-cTnT concentration ≥14 ng/L. Using 14 ng/L as the threshold of hs-cTnT for diagnosing AMI led to a significantly reduced specificity and positive predictive value in patients with kidney dysfunction, as compared with that in patients with normal kidney function. The kidney function-specific cut-off values were determined as 14, 18 and 48 ng/L for patients with eGFR >60, 60-30 and <30 mL/min/1.73 m2, respectively. Using the novel cut-off values, the specificities for diagnosing AMI in participants with different levels of kidney dysfunction were remarkably improved (from 9.1%-52.7% to 52.8-63.0%), without compromising sensitivity (96.6%-97.9%). Similar improvement of diagnostic accuracy was observed in the validation cohort (n = 8012). Conclusions: The kidney function-specific cut-off values of hs-cTnT may help clinicians to accurately diagnose AMI in patients with kidney dysfunction and avoid the potential overtreatment in practice.

RESUMO

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the etiologic agent of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Severe and fatal COVID-19 cases often display cytokine storm i.e. significant elevation of pro-inflammatory cytokines and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with systemic hypoxia. Understanding the mechanisms of these pathogenic manifestations would be essential for the prevention and especially treatment of COVID-19 patients. Here, using a dual luciferase reporter assay for hypoxia-response element (HRE), we initially identified SARS-CoV-2 nonstructural protein 5 (NSP5), NSP16, and open reading frame 3a (ORF3a) to upregulate hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) signaling. Further experiments showed NSP16 to have the most prominent effect on HIF-1α, thus contributing to the induction of COVID-19 associated pro-inflammatory response. We demonstrate that NSP16 interrupts von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) protein interaction with HIF-1α, thereby inhibiting ubiquitin-dependent degradation of HIF-1α and allowing it to bind HRE region in the IL-6 promoter region. Taken together, the findings imply that SARS-CoV-2 NSP16 induces HIF-1α expression, which in turn exacerbates the production of IL-6.

RESUMO

The prediction of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operators' unsafe acts is critical for preventing UAV incidents. However, there is a lack of research specifically focusing on UAV operators' unsafe acts, and existing approaches in related areas often lack precision and effectiveness. To address this, we propose a hybrid approach that combines the Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) with random forest (RF) to predict and warn against UAV operators' unsafe acts. Initially, we introduce an improved HFACS framework to identify risk factors influencing the unsafe acts. Subsequently, we utilize the adaptive synthetic sampling algorithm (ADASYN) to rectify the imbalance in the dataset. The RF model is then used to construct a risk prediction and early warning model, as well as to identify critical risk factors associated with the unsafe acts. The results obtained through the improved HFACS framework reveal 33 risk factors, encompassing environmental influences, industry influences, unsafe supervision, and operators' states, contributing to the unsafe acts. The RF model demonstrates a significant improvement in prediction performance after applying ADASYN. The critical risk factors associated with the unsafe acts are identified as weak safety awareness, allowing unauthorized flight activities, lack of legal awareness, lack of supervision system, and obstacles. The findings of this study can assist policymakers in formulating effective measures to mitigate incidents resulting from UAV operators' unsafe acts.

RESUMO

Heavy metal pollutants can be effectively removed from soil through phytoremediation using root exudates. Herein, experiments were conducted to assess the phytoremediation capabilities of Rumex acetosa L. and Rumex K-1 root exudates for copper (Cu) and lead (Pb) contamination. Results indicated that these root exudates effectively adsorbed Cu and Pb. Furthermore, the optimal adsorption conditions of Cu by the root exudates of both plants were as follows: light duration of 36 h, light intensity of 8000 Lx, temperature of 25 °C and CO(NH2)2 concentration of 0 %. Moreover, the optimal adsorption conditions of Pb by Rumex acetosa L. and Rumex K-1 root exudates were light duration of 48 h and 24 h, respectively, light intensity of 8000 Lx, temperature of 25 °C and CO(NH2)2 concentration of 0 %. In addition, the root exudates from both plants enhanced the enrichment and transport of Cu and Pb. Moreover, the root was found to be the main accumulation site of Pb, while the stems and leaves were the main accumulation sites of Cu. With the application of root exudates, plant growth increased, with growth indices in Rumex acetosa L. and Rumex K-1 groups treated with exudates being 1.08-1.81-fold and 1.06-1.9-fold higher, respectively, compared with the untreated ones; physiological indexes showed 1.14-2.62-fold and 1.14-2.71-fold improvements, respectively. Remediation efficiency indexes showed 1.05-1.62-fold and 1.10-1.89-fold improvements, respectively. Rumex acetosa L. and Rumex K-1 exhibited promising potential for the phytoremediation of Cu and Pb, with root exudates playing a critical role in metal adsorption and stabilisation, suggesting their potential for enhancing remediation capabilities. This study sheds light on the mechanisms of root exudate-assisted phytoremediation and provides insights into alleviating heavy metal pollution.

RESUMO

To improve the magnetic properties of iron-based soft magnetic composites (SMCs), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with excellent heat resistance, electrical insulation, and extremely high electrical resistivity was chosen as an insulating coating material for the preparation of iron-based SMCs. The effects of PTFE content, compaction pressure, and annealing treatment on the magnetic properties of Fe/PTFE SMCs were investigated in detail. The results demonstrate that the PTFE insulating layer is successfully coated on the surface of iron powders, which effectively reduces the core loss, increases the resistivity, and improves the frequency stability and the quality factor. Under the combined effect of optimal PTFE content, compaction pressure, and annealing treatment, the iron-based SMCs exhibit a high effective permeability of 56, high saturation magnetization of 192.9 emu/g, and low total core losses of 355 mW/cm3 and 1705 mW/cm3 at 50 kHz for Bm = 50 mT and 100 mT. This work provides a novel insulating coating layer that optimizes magnetic properties and is advantageous for the development of iron-based SMCs. In addition, it also provides a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between process parameters and magnetic properties, which is of great guiding significance for scientific research and industrial production.

RESUMO

Polyploid plants often exhibit superior yield, stress resistance, and quality. In this study, homologous tetraploid wucai (Brassica campestris L.) was successfully obtained by spraying seedling growth points with colchicine. The morphological, cytological, and physiological characteristics of diploid and tetraploid wucai were analyzed, and transcriptomic sequencing was performed at three stages of development. Tetraploid seedings grew slowly but exhibited darker leaves, enlarged organs and cells, increased stomatal volume, decreased stomatal density, improved nutritional content, and enhanced photosynthesis. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) identified in diploid and tetraploid plants at three stages of development were enriched in different pathways. Notably, DEGs identified in the tetraploid plants were specifically enriched in starch and sucrose metabolism, pentose and glucuronate interconversions, and ascorbate and aldarate metabolism. In addition, we found that the light green module was most relevant to ploidy, and DEGs in this module were significantly enriched in the glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and TCA cycle pathways. The differential expression of key glycolysis-associated genes at different developmental stages may be the driver of the observed differences between diploid and tetraploid wucai. This study lays a technical foundation for the development of polyploid wucai germplasm resources as well as the breeding of new varieties with improved quality, yield, and stress resistance. It also provides a good empirical reference for the genetic breeding of closely related Brassica species.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a common cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality. Evidence suggests that angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) decrease liver fibrosis, an intermediate step between liver injury and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Our aim was to investigate the association between the use of ACEIs and ARBs on incident HCC and liver-related mortality among patients with HBV infection. METHODS: We conducted a population-based study on a new-user cohort of patients seen at 24 hospitals across China. We included adult patients with HBV infection who started ACEIs or ARBs (ACEIs/ARBs), or calcium channel blockers or thiazide diuretics (CCBs/THZs) from January 2012 to December 2022. The primary outcome was incident HCC; secondary outcomes were liver-related mortality and new-onset cirrhosis. We used propensity score matching and Cox proportional hazards regression to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of study outcomes. RESULTS: Among 32 692 eligible patients (median age 58 [interquartile range (IQR) 48-68] yr, and 18 804 male [57.5%]), we matched 9946 pairs of patients starting ACEIs/ARBs or CCBs/THZs. During a mean follow-up of 2.3 years, the incidence rate of HCC per 1000 person-years was 4.11 and 5.94 among patients who started ACEIs/ARBs and CCBs/THZs, respectively, in the matched cohort. Use of ACEIs/ARBs was associated with lower risks of incident HCC (HR 0.66, 95% CI 0.50-0.86), liver-related mortality (HR 0.77, 95% CI 0.64-0.93), and new-onset cirrhosis (HR 0.81, 95% CI 0.70-0.94). INTERPRETATION: In this cohort of patients with HBV infection, new users of ACEIs/ARBs had a lower risk of incident HCC, liver-related mortality, and new-onset cirrhosis than new users of CCBs/THZs.

RESUMO

AIMS: To assess the relationships between urate-lowering therapy (ULT) initiation with all-cause mortality in patients with asymptomatic hyperuricemia and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). METHODS: This nationwide retrospective cohort study involved patients with T2D and asymptomatic hyperuricemia from 19 academic hospitals across China between 2000 and 2021. The primary exposure was ULT initiation, including allopurinol, febuxostat, or benzbromarone. The primary outcome was all-cause mortality. The secondary outcomes were cardiovascular (CV) and non-CV mortality. Propensity score matching was employed to create a 1:2 matched cohort with balanced likelihood of ULT initiation. Associations between ULT initiation with all-cause and CV mortality were assessed in the matched cohort. RESULTS: Among 42 507 patients, 5028 initiated ULT and 37 479 did not. In the matched cohort, comprising 4871 ULT initiators and 9047 noninitiators, ULT initiation was significantly associated with reduced risk of all-cause mortality (hazard ratio [HR] 0.77; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.71-0.84), CV mortality (HR 0.86; 95% CI, 0.76-0.97), and non-CV mortality (HR 0.72; 95% CI, 0.64-0.80) over an average 3.0 years of follow-up. Among the ULT initiators, post-treatment SUA levels of 360-420 µmol/L was related to a significantly lower risk for all-cause mortality compared to levels >420 µmol/L (HR 0.74; 95% CI, 0.59-0.94) while levels ≤360 µmol/L did not (HR, 0.96; 95% CI, 0.81-1.14), suggesting a U-shaped relationship. CONCLUSIONS: Initiating ULT was associated with a significant reduction in all-cause mortality in patients with T2D and asymptomatic hyperuricemia. Notably, maintaining post-treatment SUA concentrations within 360-420 µmol/L could potentially enhance this reduced mortality.

RESUMO

Conversion of atmospheric water to sustainable and clean freshwater resources through MOF-based adsorbent has great potential for the renewable environmental industry. However, its daily water production is hampered by susceptibility to agglomeration, slow water evaporation efficiency, and limited water-harvesting capacity. Herein, a solar-assisted bimetallic MOF (BMOF)-derived fiber component that surmounts these limitations and exhibits both optimized water-collect capacity and short adsorption-desorption period is proposed. The proposed strategy involves utilizing bottom-up interface-induced assembly between carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotube and hygroscopic BMOF on a multi-ply glass fiber support. The designed BMOF (MIL-100(Fe,Al)-3) skeleton constructed using bimetallic-node defect engineering exhibits a high specific surface area (1,535.28 m2/g) and pore volume (0.76 cm3/g), thereby surpassing the parent MOFs and other reported MOFs in capturing moisture. Benefiting from the hierarchical structure of fiber rods and the solar-driven self-heating interface of photothermal layer, the customized BMOF crystals realize efficient loading and optimized water adsorption-desorption kinetics. As a result, the resultant fiber components achieve six adsorption-desorption cycles per day and an impressive water collection of 1.45 g/g/day under medium-high humidity outdoor conditions. Therefore, this work will provide new ideas for optimizing the daily yield of atmospheric water harvesting techniques.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The sustained effectiveness of anti-programmed cell death protein-1/programmed death-ligand 1 treatment is limited to a subgroup of patients with advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), and the specific biomarker determining the response to immunotherapy in NPC remains uncertain. METHODS: We assessed the associations between pre-immunotherapy and post-immunotherapy serum lipoproteins and survival in a training cohort (N=160) and corroborated these findings in a validation cohort (N=100). Animal studies were performed to explore the underlying mechanisms. Additionally, the relationship between high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) levels and M1/M2-like macrophages, as well as activated CD8+T cells in tumor tissues from patients with NPC who received immunotherapy, was investigated. RESULTS: The lipoproteins cholesterol, HDL-C, low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, triglycerides, apolipoprotein A-1 (ApoA1), and apolipoprotein B, were significantly altered after immunotherapy. Patients with higher baseline HDL-C or ApoA1, or those with increased HDL-C or ApoA1 after immunotherapy had longer progression-free survival, a finding verified in the validation cohort (p<0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that baseline HDL-C and elevated HDL-C post-immunotherapy were independent predictors of superior PFS (p<0.05). Furthermore, we discovered that L-4F, an ApoA1 mimetic, could inhibit tumor growth in NPC xenografts. This effect was associated with L-4F's ability to polarize M2-like macrophages towards an M1-like phenotype via the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) p38 and nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) p65, thereby alleviating immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment. Importantly, in patients with NPC with high plasma HDL-C levels, the number of M2-like macrophages was significantly decreased, while M1-like macrophages and activated CD8+T cells were notably increased in those with high HDL-C levels. CONCLUSION: Higher baseline HDL-C levels or an increase in HDL-C post-immunotherapy can enhance immunotherapeutic responses in patients with NPC by reprogramming M2-like macrophages towards the M1 phenotype. This suggests a potential role for prospectively exploring ApoA1 mimetics as adjuvant agents in combination with immunotherapy.

RESUMO

TP53 comutation is related to poor prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer. However, there is limited study focusing on the structural influence of TP53 mutation on third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) treatment. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and molecular data of patients treated with third-generation EGFR-TKIs in two independent cohorts. A total of 117 patients from the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC) and 141 patients from the American Association for Cancer Research Project GENIE database were included. In the SYSUCC cohort, TP53 comutations were found in 59 patients (50.4%) and were associated with poor median progress-free survival (mPFS) and median overall survival (mOS). The additional subtype analysis found that TP53 mutation in the alpha-helix region had shorter mOS compared with those with TP53 mutations in other regions in the SYSUCC cohort (mOS, 12.2 vs. 21.7 months; p = 0.027). Similar findings were confirmed in the GENIE cohort. Specifically, the presence of TP53 mutation in the alpha-helix region was an independent negative predictive factor for PFS [hazard ratio (HR) 2.05(1.01-4.18), p = 0.048] and OS [HR 3.62(1.60-8.17), p = 0.002] in the SYSUCC cohort. TP53 mutation in alpha-helix region was related to inferior clinical outcomes in patients treated with third-generation EGFR-TKIs.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have shown that an elevated triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index was associated with all-cause mortality in both general adult individuals and critically ill adult patients. However, the relationship between the TyG index and clinical prognosis in pediatric patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) remains unknown. We aimed to investigate the association of the TyG index with in-hospital all-cause mortality in critically ill pediatric patients. METHODS: A total of 5706 patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care database were enrolled in this study. The primary outcome was 30-day in-hospital all-cause mortality, and secondary outcome was 30-day in-ICU all-cause mortality. The restricted cubic spline (RCS) curves and two-piecewise multivariate Cox hazard regression models were performed to explore the relationship between the TyG index and outcomes. RESULTS: The median age of the study population was 20.5 [interquartile range (IQR): 4.8, 63.0] months, and 3269 (57.3%) of the patients were male. The mean TyG index level was 8.6 ± 0.7. A total of 244 (4.3%) patients died within 30 days of hospitalization during a median follow-up of 11 [7, 18] days, and 236 (4.1%) patients died in ICU within 30 days of hospitalization during a median follow-up of 6 [3, 11] days. The RCS curves indicated a U-shape association between the TyG index and 30-day in-hospital and in-ICU all-cause mortality (both P values for non-linear < 0.001). The risk of 30-day in-hospital all-cause mortality was negatively correlated with the TyG index until it bottoms out at 8.6 (adjusted hazard ratio [HR], 0.72, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.55-0.93). However, when the TyG index was higher than 8.6, the risk of primary outcome increased significantly (adjusted HR, 1.51, 95% CI 1.16-1.96]). For 30-day in-ICU all-cause mortality, we also found a similar relationship (TyG < 8.6: adjusted HR, 0.75, 95% CI 0.57-0.98; TyG ≥ 8.6: adjusted HR, 1.42, 95% CI 1.08-1.85). Those results were consistent in subgroups and various sensitivity analysis. CONCLUSIONS: Our study showed that the association between the TyG index and 30-day in-hospital and in-ICU all-cause mortality was nonlinear U-shaped, with a cutoff point at the TyG index of 8.6 in critically ill pediatric patients. Our findings suggest that the TyG index may be a novel and important factor for the short-term clinical prognosis in pediatric patients.

RESUMO

A "once-in-a-millennium" super rainstorm battered Zhengzhou, central China, from 07/17/2021 to 07/22/2021 (named "7.20" Zhengzhou rainstorm). It killed 398 people and caused billions of dollars in damage. A pressing question is whether rainstorms of this intensity can be effectively documented by geological archives to understand better their historical variabilities beyond the range of meteorological data. Here, four land snail shells were collected from Zhengzhou, and weekly to daily resolved snail shell δ18O records from June to September of 2021 were obtained by gas-source mass spectrometry and secondary ion mass spectrometry. The daily resolved records show a dramatic negative shift between 06/18/2021 and 09/18/2021, which has been attributed to the "7.20" Zhengzhou rainstorm. Moreover, the measured amplitude of this shift is consistent with the theoretical value estimated from the flux balance model and instrumental data for the "7.20" Zhengzhou rainstorm. Our results suggest that the ultra-high resolution δ18O of land snail shells have the potential to reconstruct local synoptic scale rainstorms quantitatively, and thus fossil snail shells in sedimentary strata can be valuable material for investigating the historical variability of local rainstorms under different climate backgrounds.

RESUMO

Here, we describe an iron-catalyzed benzylic C-H thiolation of alkylarenes via photoinduced ligand-to-metal charge-transfer. The protocol features operational simplicity, mild reaction conditions, and the use of FeCl3 as catalyst and thiols/disulfides as sulfur sources, which enables the transformation of diverse benzylic C-H bonds into C-S bonds with a high efficiency.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Acute kidney injury (AKI) and acute liver injury (ALI) were associated with poor outcomes during hospitalization, respectively. However, the clinical outcome of AKI combined with ALI (AKI-ALI) remains unknown. The current study aimed to describe AKI-ALI's incidences, risk factors, and outcomes. METHODS: The study population included patients aged 18-99 years with enough serum creatinine and liver testing hospitalized at 19 medical centers throughout China between 2000 and 2021. AKI was defined by Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes and ALI was defined by the change of liver enzymes based on Asia Pacific Association of Study of Liver consensus guidelines. Cox proportional hazard model was used to identify risk factors for AKI-ALI, and a time-dependent Cox proportional hazard regression model was used to estimate the association between AKI-ALI and in-hospital mortality. RESULTS: Among the 18,461 patients with AKI, 1689 (9.1%) combined with ALI. Male patients or those who have used nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or vasopressors, and who have heart failure or shock, with higher AST or GGT values, were associated with an increased risk of AKI-ALI. Compared with AKI-nonALI, patients with AKI-ALI were at higher risk of in-hospitalized mortality (hazard ratio [HR] 1.76, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.54, 2.00). In addition, a stronger association between AKI-ALI and in-hospital mortality was found in those with lower AKI grades (p for interaction = 0.037). CONCLUSIONS: ALI was not uncommon among patients with AKI, especially in patients who used vasopressors and had shock. This study highlights the association between AKI-ALI and a significantly increased risk of mortality. It suggests that dynamic monitoring of liver function is essential, particularly in patients with AST and GGT exceeding the normal upper limit, to improve the in-hospital prognosis of AKI patients.

RESUMO

To minimize the global pandemic COVID-19 spread, understanding the possible transmission routes of SARS-CoV-2 and discovery of novel antiviral drugs are necessary. We describe here that the virus can infect ocular surface limbal epithelial, but not other regions. Limbal supports wild type and mutant SARS-CoV-2 entry and replication depending on ACE2, TMPRSS2 and possibly other receptors, resulting in slight CPE and arising IL-6 secretion, which symbolizes conjunctivitis in clinical symptoms. With this limbal model, we have screened two natural product libraries and discovered several unreported drugs. Our data reveal important commonalities between COVID-19 and ocular infection with SARS-CoV-2, and establish an ideal cell model for drug screening and mechanism research.

RESUMO

Enterococcus faecium B13, selected from fermentation chili, has been proven to promote animal growth by previous studies, but it belongs to opportunistic pathogens, so a comprehensive evaluation of its probiotic properties and safety is necessary. In this study, the probiotic properties and safety of B13 were evaluated at the genetic and phenotype levels in vitro and then confirmed in vivo. The genome of B13 contains one chromosome and two plasmids. The average nucleotide identity indicated that B13 was most closely related to the fermentation-plant-derived strain. The strain does not carry the major virulence genes of the clinical E. faecium strains but contains aac(6')-Ii, ant (6)-Ia, msrC genes. The strain had a higher tolerance to acid at pH 3.0, 4.0, and 0.3% bile salt and a 32.83% free radical DPPH clearance rate. It can adhere to Caco-2 cells and reduce the adhesion of E. coli to Caco-2 cells. The safety assessment revealed that the strain showed no hemolysis and did not exhibit gelatinase, ornithine decarboxylase, lysine decarboxylase, or tryptophanase activity. It was sensitive to twelve antibiotics but was resistant to erythromycin, rifampicin, tetracycline, doxycycline, and minocycline. Experiments in vivo have shown that B13 can be located in the ileum and colon and has no adverse effects on experiment animals. After 28 days of feeding, B13 did not remarkable change the α-diversity of the gut flora or increase the virulence genes. Our study demonstrated that E. faecium B13 may be used as a probiotic candidate.

RESUMO

In this study, metabolomics and proteomics were performed to investigate the fluctuations of non-volatile compounds and proteins in tea leaves from three tea cultivars with varying colours during withering. A total of 2798 compounds were detected, exhibiting considerable variations in amino acids, phenylpropanoids, and flavonoids. The ZH1 cultivar displayed increased levels of amino acids but decreased levels of polyphenols, which might be associated with the up-regulation of enzymes responsible for protein degradation and subsequent amino acid production, as well as the down-regulation of enzymes involved in phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthesis. The FUD and ZH1 cultivars had elevated levels of flavanols and flavanol-O-glycosides, which were regulated by the upregulation of FLS. The ZJ and ZH1 cultivars displayed elevated levels of theaflavin and peroxidase. This work presents a novel investigation into the alterations of metabolites and proteins between tea cultivars during withering, and helps with the tea cultivar selection and manufacturing development.

RESUMO

The study of the structures, applications, and structure-property relationships of atomically precise metal nanoclusters relies heavily on their controlled synthesis. Although great progress has been made in the controlled synthesis of Group 11 (Cu, Ag, Au) metal nanoclusters, the preparation of Pd nanoclusters remains a grand challenge. Herein, a new, simple, and versatile synthetic strategy for the controlled synthesis of Pd nanoclusters is reported with tailorable structures and functions. The synthesis strategy involves the controllable transformations of Pd4(CO)4(CH3COO)4 in air, allowing the discovery of a family of Pd nanoclusters with well-defined structure and high yield. For example, by treating the Pd4(CO)4(CH3COO)4 with 2,2-dipyridine ligands, two clusters of Pd4 and Pd10 whose metal framework describes the growth of vertex-sharing tetrahedra have been selectively isolated. Interestingly, chiral Pd4 nanoclusters can be gained by virtue of customized chiral pyridine-imine ligands, thus representing a pioneering example to shed light on the hierarchical chiral nanostructures of Pd. This synthetic methodology also tolerates a wide variety of ligands and affords phosphine-ligated Pd nanoclusters in a simple way. It is believed that the successful exploration of the synthetic strategy would simulate the research enthusiasm on both the synthesis and application of atomically precise Pd nanoclusters.
