RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The acquisition of a rich vocabulary is foundational to language proficiency. In the pedagogical pursuit of effective vocabulary teaching, educators explore diverse methodologies. Researchers investigated the impact of different neurocognitive, metacognitive, and socio-cultural strategies on enhancing vocabulary learning, particularly among Chinese English Language Learners. OBJECTIVES: The study aims to determine the effectiveness of techniques derived from these theories compared to traditional teaching methods in enhancing vocabulary recall and recognition among English language learners. METHODOLOGY: A quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test design was employed for the experimental and control groups, comprising 90 Chinese EFL learners selected from educational institutions in 2022-2023. The experimental group (n = 45) received instruction involving visual imagery, multisensory rotation, circle rotation, and mind mapping over eight sessions, while the control group (n = 45) received traditional teaching methods. FINDINGS: Statistical analysis, utilizing covariance and analysis of variance with SPSS software version 22, revealed significant improvements in recall and vocabulary recognition within and between the experimental and control groups. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicate that incorporating techniques based on Neuro-Cognitive, Multimedia, Socio-Cultural, and Metacognitive theories positively influences vocabulary recall and recognition. This suggests the efficacy of these innovative methods in enhancing English language learning, highlighting their potential for broader integration into EFL instruction.

RESUMO

The emotional stress of English translation practitioners is an important research content of psychological organization counseling behavior. Based on the theory of role cognition, this paper adopts the perspective of emotional stress experience, integrates the construction theory and the self-determination theory, and builds an emotional stress relief mechanism for English translation practitioners. On the basis of sorting out psychological capital, emotional commitment, and behavioral variables of organizational practitioners, the article summarizes the concept, dimension, measurement, and causes and effects of variables and solves the problem of quantitative analysis of emotional stress. In the simulation process, the role cognitive variables and local cognitive variables are extracted separately using the dual-branch mitigation mechanism structure to enhance the diversity of the extracted cognitive variables; in the local branch, a loss function of emotional stress overlapping partial penalty mechanism is constructed. This mechanism is used to select a suitable destination sink node for the sensor nodes around the sink node with heavy load to transmit data and effectively relieve the data collection pressure of the original sink node. The experimental results show that by using role cognitive variables and local cognitive variables in the training of classification loss and triple loss, respectively, the mitigation mechanism can mine subtle and significant cognitive variables from the local area and finally integrate role cognitive cognition. The accuracy rate of obtaining 297 questionnaires reached 91.4%, which effectively promoted the mechanism research of emotional stress on the behavior of English translation practitioners.

RESUMO

The biodegradation of organic matter triggers the reductive dissolution of iron oxides with the transformation among iodine species has been mostly accepted as the key iodine mobilization process in groundwater system. However, molecular characteristics of natural organic matter (NOM) and their interaction with iron oxides on geogenic iodine enrichment remain unclear. We used Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) to characterize the molecular composition of both dissolved organic matter (DOM) in groundwater and water-soluble organic matter (WSOM) in aquifer sediments being depth-matched with groundwater from monitoring wells in typical iodine-affected aquifers within the central Yangtze River Basin. The results show that WSOM in high-iodine sediments contains more high molecular weight (HMW) organic compounds with higher aromaticity and nominal oxidation state of carbon (NOSC), including polycyclic aromatics, polyphenols and highly unsaturated compounds. These compounds are mostly positively associated with amorphous iron oxides (Feox1) in aquifer sediments. The association between iodine and WSOM is highly consistent with that between amorphous Feox1 and WSOM, but is contrary to that between crystalline iron oxides (Feox2) and WSOM. DOM in groundwater with higher iodine concentration contains more aliphatic compounds and less polyphenols. The complexation of HMW organic compounds of WSOM to iodine-bearing amorphous Feox1 plays an important role in iodine mobilization, which could inhibit the amorphous Feox1 transformation to crystalline Feox2. These observations indicate the biodegradation of HMW organic matter (polycyclic aromatics, polyphenols and highly unsaturated compounds) in WSOM fueling the reductive dissolution of amorphous Feox1 predominantly promotes the release of iodine from aquifer sediments into groundwater. This research provides new insights into the mobilization mechanisms of iodine in alluvial-lacustrine groundwater system controlled by the Fe-OM complexation at the molecular level.
