It is necessary to develop novel and efficient alternatives to fluorocarbon surfactant and prepare fluorine-free environmentally-friendly fire extinguishing agent. The carboxyl modified polyether polysiloxane surfactant (CMPS) with high surface activity was synthesized via the esterification reaction using hydroxyl-containing polyether modified polysiloxane (HPMS) and maleic anhydride (MA) as raw materials. The process conditions of the esterification reaction were optimized by orthogonal tests, and the optimum process parameters were determined as follows: reaction temperature of 85 °C, reaction time of 4.5 h, isopropyl alcohol content of 20% and the molar ratio of HPMS/MA of 1/1. The chemical structure, surface activity, aggregation behavior, foam properties, wetting properties and electron distribution were systematically investigated. It was found that the carboxyl group was successfully grafted into silicone molecule, and the conjugated system was formed, which changed the interaction force between the molecules and would affect the surface activity of the aqueous solution. The CMPS exhibited excellent surface activity and could effectively reduce the water's surface tension to 18.46 mN/m. The CMPS formed spherical aggregates in aqueous solution, and the contact angle value of CMPS is 15.56°, illustrating that CMPS had excellent hydrophilicity and wetting performance. The CMPS can enhance the foam property and has good stability. The electron distribution results indicate that the introduced carboxyl groups are more inclined towards the negative charge band, which would be conducive to weak the interaction between molecules and improve the surface activity of the solution. Consequently, new foam fire extinguishing agents were prepared by using CMPS as a key component and they exhibited excellent fire-fighting performance. The prepared CMPS would be the optimal alternative to fluorocarbon surfactant and could be applied in foam extinguishing agents.

In comparison to metal complexes, organic photosensitive dyes employed in photocatalytic hydrogen production exhibit promising developmental prospects. Utilizing the organic dye molecule TA+0 as the foundational structure, a series of innovative organic dyes, denoted as TA1-1 to TA2-6, were systematically designed. Employing first-principles calculations, we methodically explored the modifying effects of diverse electron-donating groups on the R1 and R2 positions to assess their application potential. Our findings reveal that, relative to the experimentally synthesized TATA+03, the TA2-6 molecule boasts a spatial structure conducive to intramolecular electron transfer, showcasing the most negative reduction potential (Ered = -2.11 eV) and the maximum reaction driving force (△G0 2 = -1.26 eV). This configuration enhances its compatibility with the reduction catalyst, thereby facilitating efficient hydrogen evolution. The TA2-6 dye demonstrates outstanding photophysical properties and a robust solar energy capture capacity. Its maximum molar extinction coefficient (ε) stands at 2.616 × 104 M-1·cm-1, representing a remarkable 292.8% improvement over TATA+03. In conclusion, this research underscores the promising potential of the TA2-6 dye as an innovative organic photosensitizer, positioning it as an efficacious component in homogeneous photocatalytic systems.

Apple rubbery wood virus 2 (ARWV-2) and citrus virus A (CiVA) belong to a recently approved family Phenuiviridae in the order Bunyavirales and possess negative-sense single-stranded RNA genomes. In this study, the genome sequence of three ARWV-2 isolates (S17E2, LYC2, and LYXS) and a CiVA isolate (CiVA-P) infecting pear trees grown in China were characterized using high-throughput sequencing combined with conventional reverse-transcription PCR (RT-PCR) assays. The genome-wide nt sequence identities were above 93.6% among the ARWV-2 isolates and above 93% among CiVA isolates. Sequence comparisons showed that sequence diversity occurred in the 5' untranslated region of the ARWV-2 genome and the intergenic region of the CiVA genome. For the first time, this study revealed that ARWV-2 proteins Ma and Mb displayed a plasmodesma subcellular localization, and the MP of CiVA locates in cell periphery and can interact with the viral NP in bimolecular fluorescence complementation assays. RT-PCR tests disclosed that ARWV-2 widely occurs, while CiVA has a low incidence in pear trees grown in China. This study presents the first complete genome sequences and incidences of ARWV-2 and CiVA from pear trees and the obtained results extend our knowledge of the viral pathogens of pear grown in China.
