BACKGROUND: Treatment options for patients with gastric cancer (GC) continue to improve, but the overall prognosis is poor. The use of PD-1 inhibitors has also brought benefits to patients with advanced GC and has gradually become the new standard treatment option at present, and there is an urgent need to identify valuable biomarkers to classify patients with different characteristics into subgroups. AIM: To determined the effects of differentially expressed immune-related genes (DEIRGs) on the development, prognosis, tumor microenvironment (TME), and treatment response among GC patients with the expectation of providing new biomarkers for personalized treatment of GC populations. METHODS: Gene expression data and clinical pathologic information were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and immune-related genes (IRGs) were searched from ImmPort. DEIRGs were extracted from the intersection of the differentially-expressed genes (DEGs) and IRGs lists. The enrichment pathways of key genes were obtained by analyzing the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGGs) and Gene Ontology (GO) databases. To identify genes associated with prognosis, a tumor risk score model based on DEIRGs was constructed using Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator and multivariate Cox regression. The tumor risk score was divided into high- and low-risk groups. The entire cohort was randomly divided into a 2:1 training cohort and a test cohort for internal validation to assess the feasibility of the risk model. The infiltration of immune cells was obtained using 'CIBERSORT,' and the infiltration of immune subgroups in high- and low-risk groups was analyzed. The GC immune score data were obtained and the difference in immune scores between the two groups was analyzed. RESULTS: We collected 412 GC and 36 adjacent tissue samples, and identified 3627 DEGs and 1311 IRGs. A total of 482 DEIRGs were obtained. GO analysis showed that DEIRGs were mainly distributed in immunoglobulin complexes, receptor ligand activity, and signaling receptor activators. KEGG pathway analysis showed that the top three DEIRGs enrichment types were cytokine-cytokine receptors, neuroactive ligand receptor interactions, and viral protein interactions. We ultimately obtained an immune-related signature based on 10 genes, including 9 risk genes (LCN1, LEAP2, TMSB15A mRNA, DEFB126, PI15, IGHD3-16, IGLV3-22, CGB5, and GLP2R) and 1 protective gene (LGR6). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, and risk curves confirmed that the risk model had good predictive ability. Multivariate COX analysis showed that age, stage, and risk score were independent prognostic factors for patients with GC. Meanwhile, patients in the low-risk group had higher tumor mutation burden and immunophenotype, which can be used to predict the immune checkpoint inhibitor response. Both cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen4+ and programmed death 1+ patients with lower risk scores were more sensitive to immunotherapy. CONCLUSION: In this study a new prognostic model consisting of 10 DEIRGs was constructed based on the TME. By providing risk factor analysis and prognostic information, our risk model can provide new directions for immunotherapy in GC patients.

At present, there are few options for third line and above treatment of advanced gastric cancer and the single drug effect is poor. HER2 positive gastric cancer is an important subtype of gastric cancer and has certain immune characteristics. The combination of HER2 inhibitor and PD-1 inhibitor has a synergistic effect, and anti-tumor drugs targeting HER2 can play an anti-angiogenesis role by downregulating VEGF. We report a patient with HER2-positive gastric cancer who developed post-operative tumor recurrence and metastasis after adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Trastuzumab combined with albumin paclitaxel was used as second-line treatment with progression-free survival for 9 months. In third line treatment, we retained trastuzumab and combined it with camrelizumab and apatinib. During the treatment period, although the patient stopped taking the drugs due to the side effects of camrelizumab and apatinib, he achieved a PFS of 10.4 months. Considering the good effect of the third line treatment, we added another PD-1 inhibitor and continued to combine trastuzumab treatment. We found that the patient still benefited from the treatment and continued to survive for another 4 months. At present, the patient is treated with DisitamabVedotin (HER2-ADC) combined with PD-1 inhibitor, and no overall survival outcome has been observed.

A conceptual shift toward next-generation wearable electronics is driving research into self-powered electronics technologies that can be independently operated without plugging into the grid for external power feeding. Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) are emerging as a key component of self-powered electronics, but a power type mismatch between supply and demand limits their direct implementation into wearable self-powered electronics. Here, a TENG with switchable power mode capability is reported where the charge flow direction is modulated over the course of slow and random mechanical stimuli, with exceptional rectification capabilities as high as ≈133, stable outputs over the cycles, and design flexibility in different platforms. Importantly, the remarkable switchable power generation with fabric counter materials illuminates a new path for the smooth integration of flexible TENGs into wearable self-powered electronics.

Rechargeable Li metal batteries have the potential to meet the demands of high-energy density batteries for electric vehicles and grid-energy storage system applications. Achieving this goal, however, requires resolving not only safety concerns and a shortened battery cycle life arising from a combination of undesirable lithium dendrite and solid-electrolyte interphase formations. Here, a series of microcrack-free anionic network polymer membranes formed by a facile one-step click reaction are reported, displaying a high cation conductivity of 3.1 × 10-5 S cm-1 at high temperature, a wide electrochemical stability window up to 5 V, a remarkable resistance to dendrite growth, and outstanding non-flammability. These enhanced properties are attributed to the presence of tethered borate anions in microcrack-free membranes, which benefits the acceleration of selective Li+ cations transport as well as suppression of dendrite growth. Ultimately, the microcrack-free anionic network polymer membranes render Li metal batteries a safe and long-cyclable energy storage device at high temperatures with a capacity retention of 92.7% and an average coulombic efficiency of 99.867% at 450 cycles.

Objective: To investigate the correlation between specific fiber tracts and grip strength and cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) by fixel-based analysis (FBA). Methods: AD patients were divided into AD with low grip strength (AD-LGS, n=29) and AD without low grip strength (AD-nLGS, n=25), along with 31 normal controls (NC). General data, neuropsychological tests, grip strength and cranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were collected. FBA evaluated white matter (WM) fiber metrics, including fiber density (FD), fiber cross-sectional (FC), and fiber density and cross-sectional area (FDC). The mean fiber indicators of the fiber tracts of interest (TOI) were extracted in cerebral region of significant statistical differences in FBA to further compare the differences between groups and analyze the correlation between fiber properties and neuropsychological test scores. Results: Compared to AD-nLGS group, AD-LGS group showed significant reductions in FDC in several cerebral regions. In AD patients, FDC values of bilateral uncinate fasciculus and left superior longitudinal fasciculus were positively correlated with Clock Drawing Test scores, while FDC of splenium of corpus callosum, bilateral anterior cingulate tracts, forceps major, and bilateral inferior longitudinal fasciculus were positively correlated with the Executive Factor Score of Memory and Executive Screening scale scores. Conclusion: Reduced grip strength in AD patients is associated with extensive impairment of WM structural integrity. Changes in FDC of specific WM fiber tracts related to executive function play a significant mediating role in the reduction of grip strength in AD patients.

RESUMO

Esophageal cancer (EC) is the seventh most common cancer worldwide. Patients with EC have a generally poor prognosis mainly due to the lack of effective treatments. Cancer immunotherapy is a promising novel treatment option for EC. This literature review investigated the clinical efficacy of immunotherapy either alone or in combination with chemotherapy or targeted therapy. In addition, we analyzed the adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). In conclusion, ICIs increase the efficacy of EC treatments, thereby improving the outcomes of EC patients. The findings of this study may help enhance the response to immunotherapy, diminish toxicity, and thus eventually improve medical care for patients with EC.

Aim: To evaluate the safety and initial efficacy of autologous cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells combined with S-1+oxaliplatin (SOX) as the first-line treatment for locally advanced or metastatic gastric cancer (GC). Materials and methods: In this two-arm, single-center exploratory trial, patients with locally advanced or metastatic GC were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive autologous CIK cells in combination with SOX (CIK-SOX) or SOX alone. The primary endpoint was the incidence of adverse events (AEs). Progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), and disease control rate (DCR) served as the secondary endpoints. Results: Fifty-nine patients were enrolled in the study between November 20, 2014 and September 6, 2017. A total of 31 patients received CIK-SOX and 28 patients received SOX. The most common AEs in both groups were gastrointestinal reaction, leucopenia, neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, hyperbilirubinemia, and elevated aspartate transaminase concentration, with a higher incidence of these conditions in the SOX group. The median PFS for the CIK-SOX and SOX groups was 6.9 and 4.9 months, respectively (hazard ratio (HR) 0.80, p=0.45). The respective median OS values were 17.8 and 9.75 months (HR 0.76, p=0.34). Patients who received more than three injections of specific lymphocyte subsets benefited the most from this combination therapy. Cox univariate and multivariate analyses showed that tumor metastasis to more than two organs was the main risk factor for PFS and OS. A total of 29 patients in the CIK-SOX group and 25 in the SOX group had measurable lesions. The ORR for the CIK-SOX and SOX groups was 55.2% and 32.0%, while the DCR was 93.1% and 88.0%, respectively. Conclusion: The safety of CIK-SOX as the first-line treatment for patients with locally advanced or metastatic GC was good. Although the PFS and OS in the CIK-SOX group were not statistically significantly different compared to the values in the SOX alone group, this treatment increased the PFS and OS duration, with the absolute improvement in OS of about 8.05 months. Continuous benefit from the CIK-SOX treatment was observed during long-term follow-up. Introduction: Healthcare workers risk of exposure to the influenza virus in their work, is a high-risk group for flu infections. Thus WHO recommends prioritizing flu vaccination for them-an approach adopted by >40 countries and/or regions worldwide. Methods: Cross-sectional studies on influenza vaccination rates among healthcare workers were collected from PubMed, EMBASE, CNKI, and CBM databases from inception to February 26, 2023. Influenza vaccination rates and relevant data for multiple logistic regression analysis, such as odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI), were extracted. Results: A total of 92 studies comprising 125 vaccination data points from 26 countries were included in the analysis. The meta-analysis revealed that the overall vaccination rate among healthcare workers was 41.7%. Further analysis indicated that the vaccination rate was 46.9% or 35.6% in low income or high income countries. Vaccination rates in the Americas, the Middle East, Oceania, Europe, Asia, and Africa were 67.1, 51.3, 48.7, 42.5, 28.5, and 6.5%, respectively. Influencing factors were age, length of service, education, department, occupation, awareness of the risk of influenza, and/or vaccines. Conclusion: The global influenza vaccination rate among healthcare workers is low, and comprehensive measures are needed to promote influenza vaccination among this population. OBJECTIVES: Ongoing controversies persist regarding risk factors associated with the failure of transition from epidural labor analgesia to cesarean section anesthesia, including the duration of labor analgesia, gestational age, and body mass index (BMI). This study aims to provide an updated analysis of the incidence of conversion from epidural analgesia to general anesthesia, while evaluating and analyzing potential risk factors contributing to the failure of this transition to cesarean section anesthesia. METHODS: We conducted an extensive literature search utilizing databases such as PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WANGFANG, and the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM) up to September 30, 2022. The meta-analysis was performed using STATA 15.1 software. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the 11-item quality assessment scale recommended by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). RESULTS: A total of 9,926 studies were initially retrieved, and after rigorous selection, 19 studies were included in the meta-analysis. The overall incidence of conversion from epidural analgesia to general anesthesia was found to be 6% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 5-8%). Our findings indicate that, when compared to patients in the successful conversion group, those in the failure group tended to be younger (weighted mean difference [WMD] = -1.571, 95% CI: -1.116 to -0.975) and taller (WMD = 0.893, 95% CI: 0.018-1.767). Additionally, the failure group exhibited a higher incidence of incomplete block in epidural anesthesia, received a higher dosage of additional epidural administration, experienced a greater rate of emergency cesarean sections, and received anesthesia more frequently from non-obstetric anesthesiologists. However, no statistically significant differences were observed in gestational age, depth of the catheter insertion into the skin, epidural catheter specifics, duration of epidural analgesia, infusion rate of epidural analgesia, primiparity status, cervical dilatation during epidural placement, BMI, or weight. CONCLUSION: Our study found that the incidence of conversion from epidural analgesia to cesarean section under general anesthesia was 6%. Notably, the failure group exhibited a higher rate of incomplete block in epidural anesthesia, a greater incidence of emergency cesarean sections, a more frequent provision of anesthesia by non-obstetric anesthesiologists, a higher dosage of epidural administration, and greater height when compared to the success group. Conversely, women in the failure group were younger in age compared to their counterparts in the success group.

BACKGROUND: Wound healing, especially impaired chronic wound healing, poses a tremendous challenge for modern medicine. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying wound healing is essential to the development of novel therapeutic strategies. METHODS: A wound-healing mouse model was established to analyze histopathological alterations during wound healing, and the expression of SRY-box transcription factor 17 (SOX17), DNA methyltransferase 3 alpha (DNMT3A), and a specific fibroblast marker S100 calcium-binding protein A4 (S100A4) in wound skin tissues was tested by immunofluorescence (IF) assay. Cell proliferation and migration were evaluated using 5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) and Transwell migration assays. RT-qPCR and western blotting were used to measure RNA and protein expression. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was performed to detect the secretion of transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-ß). Chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by qPCR (ChIP-qPCR) and DNA pull-down assays were performed to confirm the interaction between DNMT3A and the CpG island of the SOX17 promoter. Promoter methylation was examined by pyrosequencing. RESULTS: SOX17 and DNMT3A expression were regularly regulated during the different phases of wound healing. SOX17 knockdown promoted HUVEC migration and the production and release of TGF-ß. Through establishing an endothelial cells-fibroblasts co-culture model, we found that SOX17 knockdown in HUVECs activated HFF-1 fibroblasts, which expressed α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and type I collagen (COL1). DNMT3A overexpression reduces SOX17 mRNA levels. ChIP-qPCR and DNA pull-down assays verified the interaction between DNMT3A and CpG island in the SOX17 promoter region. Pyrosequencing confirmed that DNMT3A overexpression increased the methylation level of the SOX17 promoter. CONCLUSION: DNMT3A-mediated downregulation of SOX17 facilitates wound healing by promoting endothelial cell migration and fibroblast activation.

The use of equipment such as dental handpieces and ultrasonic tips in the dental environment has potentially heightened the generation and spread of aerosols, which are dispersant particles contaminated by etiological factors. Although numerous types of personal protective equipment have been used to lower contact with contaminants, they generally do not exhibit excellent removal rates and user-friendliness in tandem. To solve this problem, we developed a prototype of an air-barrier device that forms an air curtain as well as performs suction and evaluated the effect of this newly developed device through a simulation study and experiments. The air-barrier device derived the improved design for reducing bioaerosols through the simulation results. The experiments also demonstrated that air-barrier devices are effective in reducing bioaerosols generated at a distance in a dental environment. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that air-barrier devices in dental environments can play an effective role in reducing contaminating particles.

The demand for building-integrated photovoltaics and portable energy systems based on flexible photovoltaic technology such as perovskite embedded with exceptional flexibility and a superior power-to-mass ratio is enormous. The photoactive layer, i.e., the perovskite thin film, as a critical component of flexible perovskite solar cells (F-PSCs), still faces long-term stability issues when deformation occurs due to encountering temperature changes that also affect intrinsic rigidity. This literature investigation summarizes the main factors responsible for the rapid destruction of F-PSCs. We focus on long-term mechanical stability of F-PSCs together with the recent research protocols for improving this performance. Furthermore, we specify the progress in F-PSCs concerning precise design strategies of the functional layer to enhance the flexural endurance of perovskite films, such as internal stress engineering, grain boundary modification, self-healing strategy, and crystallization regulation. The existing challenges of oxygen-moisture stability and advanced encapsulation technologies of F-PSCs are also discussed. As concluding remarks, we propose our viewpoints on the large-scale commercial application of F-PSCs.

Pancreatic cancer is the leading cause of cancer death, and treatment options are limited and mostly ineffective. The patient we report had an EGFR exon 19 deletion and had disease progression in the short term after receiving three front-line treatment regimens. We administered furmonertinib and observed tumor shrinkage, decreased CA19-9. The progression-free survival (PFS) of furmonertinib was 4.7 months, and no adverse effects were observed. However, the patient did not benefit from subsequent nimotuzumab-based therapy. Targeted therapy driven by the detection of genetic signatures in this patient shows potential clinical benefit in refractory advanced pancreatic cancer.

Purpose: Treatment options for refractory metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) are scarce. This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of raltitrexed combined with S-1 and bevacizumab in patients with heavily pretreated metastatic CRC in a clinical real-world setting. Patients and Methods: Records of patients with metastatic CRC refractory to standard therapies who initiated raltitrexed plus S-1 and bevacizumab from October 2017 to December 2021 were retrospectively reviewed at our institution. The study endpoints included median overall survival (OS), overall response rate (ORR), progression-free survival (PFS), disease control rate (DCR), and adverse events (AEs). Results: Forty-four patients with metastatic CRC, who had previously undergone standard chemotherapy received the regimen comprising raltitrexed plus S-1 and bevacizumab. As of March 2022, the median follow-up was 23.2 months (95% confidence interval 15.8-30.6). The median OS and median PFS were 13.5 (95% CI 9.9-17.1) and 4.7 months (95% CI 3.6-5.8), respectively, with a 16-week PFS rate of 60.9%. Among 43 patients with measurable lesions, the ORR and DCR were 7.0% (3/43) and 65.1% (28/43), respectively. Patients without peritoneal metastases (P = 0.003, hazard ratio 0.160, 95% CI 0.048-0.531), lower carcinoembryonic antigen level (≤42.8 ng/mL) (P = 0.039, HR 0.382, 95% CI 0.153-0.952), and no previous treatment with both vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitors (VEGF) and S-1 (P = 0.020, HR 0.215, 95% CI 0.059-0.785) had better OS. The incidence of any grade of treatment-related AEs was 88.6%, most of which were mild to moderate, and no treatment-related deaths occurred. Conclusion: Raltitrexed combined with S-1 and bevacizumab shows promising antitumor activity and safety and could be an alternative for patients with metastatic CRC who are refractory or intolerant to standard therapy.

Fibers with droplets encapsulated in them could build bridges between a 0D dispersed structure and a 1D continuous wire and thus provide optimal solutions requiring high surface-to-volume ratio and strong mechanical properties. However, current methods are mostly focusing on the architectures with the size of droplets smaller than that of fibers; the relatively thick barrier of fibers usually limits the rate of diffusion from inner droplets to the outer environment. Here, we report a hybrid method combining microfluidics and electrospinning to fabricate nanofibers with microdroplets encapsulated in them. Monodisperse microdroplets with controllable sizes from 36 to 95 µm are generated through microfluidic flow-focusing and split into a string of smaller droplets from 1 to 3 µm, respectively, during the electrospinning stretching. The size of encapsulated droplets could be tuned by controlling the flow rate ratio during the microfluidic process, and the shape of that could be varied by changing the viscosity of encapsulated solution. This marriage of microfluidics and electrospinning could be applied to produce a nanofiber-based moisture barrier and drug carrier, also providing efficient tools to study the under-electric-field stretching and splitting of droplets trapped in the polymer network.

Unsafe behaviors, such as violations and human errors, have long been recognized as the main causes of accidents in nuclear power plants (NPPs). However, personal factors that influence unsafe behaviors among NPP workers have not been well examined, especially in an integrated model. This study proposes an integrated contextual mediated model to examine personality, cognitive and attitudinal predictors of unsafe behaviors among commissioning workers at NPPs. The model was verified using structural equation modeling technique with survey data from 177 commissioning workers in two Chinese NPPs. Results show that personality traits (i.e., conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness and agreeableness), executive function and safety attitudes exerted significant effects on unsafe behaviors. In addition, the effects of agreeableness and executive function were partly mediated by safety attitudes. Both conscientiousness and neuroticism indirectly influenced unsafe behaviors through the mediating role of executive function. The findings shed light on the design of evidence-based interventions for safety performance in NPPs.

RESUMO

HCC is a highly lethal tumor, and orthotopic liver transplantation, as one of the radical treatment methods for HCC, has opened-up a new therapeutic approach for the treatment of primary liver cancer. However, tumor recurrence after liver transplantation is the main reason that affects the long-term survival of recipients. At present, the application of ICIs has brought dawn to patients with refractory HCC. However, because of the special immune tolerance state created by long-term oral immunosuppressants in patients with HCC after liver transplantation, the current focus is how to regulate the immune balance of such patients and simultaneously maximize the anti-tumor effect. This article reviews the relationship between liver cancer and immunity, immune tolerance of liver transplantation, immune microenvironment after liver transplantation for HCC, and the application of immunotherapy in the recurrence of liver transplantation for HCC.

Gastric cancer is a very common gastrointestinal malignancy. Since the disease is often asymptomatic in its early stage, it is often diagnosed in its late stage. In this study, our objective was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of combination chemotherapy regimens containing taxanes in the first-line treatment of advanced gastric cancer (AGC). We searched published randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to compare the effect of taxanes combined with basic chemotherapy and chemotherapy without taxanes on AGC. The extracted data are the number of people who achieved the objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR), as well as the hazard ratio (HR) of progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) including their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI). Six RCTs involving 2263 patients were included. Compared with chemotherapy without taxanes, patients receiving taxanes combined with basic chemotherapy had significantly longer PFS (HR 0.73, 95% CI 0.61-0.88, p = 0.001) and significantly longer OS (HR 0.80, 95% CI 0.69-0.93, p = 0.003); significantly better ORR (RR 1.34, 95% CI 1.15-1.57, p = 0.0001) and significantly better DCR (RR 1.20, 95% CI 1.08-1.33, p = 0.001). However, in patients treated with taxanes combined with basic chemotherapy, diarrhea, leukopenia and neutropenia were significantly increased (p < 0.05). In summary, taxanes combined with basic chemotherapy are superior to chemotherapy without taxanes in first-line treatment of AGC patients.

Background: Pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma (PSC) is a rare disease which is highly malignant with a poor prognosis. PSC is highly resistant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy and is prone to recurrence even after surgery. Most of what is known about PSC comes from limited single-center, retrospective studies. There is still no standard international clinical guideline for PSC. Limited case reports have shown that PSC patients with driver gene mutations and high programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression have good responses to molecular targeted therapy and immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) immunotherapy, respectively. Therefore, current first-line chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy play a leading role in the diagnosis and treatment of advanced PSC patients. Case Description: We report a 42-year-old male who was diagnosed with PSC [stage IVB (T4N2M1)] and treated at our department (Department of Radiation Oncology, The Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University). The initial computed tomography (CT) scan of the chest showed a large mass (159 mm × 112 mm) which on needle biopsy showed sarcomatoid carcinoma histology. The patient received 8 cycles of abraxane plus cisplatin chemotherapy combined with anlotinib and immunotherapy, followed by immunotherapy and anlotinib for >1 year. Finally, the local tumor was well controlled, and no obvious drug-related adverse reactions were observed. The large lesions in the lung remained in complete response for >24 months. Conclusions: To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of an advanced PSC patient showing a good response to the treatment consisting of anlotinib combined with sintilimab and platinum-doublet chemotherapy. This case suggests that chemotherapy combined with antiangiogenic therapy and immunotherapy may benefit patients with advanced PSC. Long-term immunotherapy and anlotinib maintenance therapy has been safe and effective in our case. However, randomized controlled clinical studies are needed to confirm the efficacy and safety of these treatment options.

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignant tumors globally. Guiding the individualized treatment of GC is the focus of research. Obtaining representative biological samples to study the biological characteristics of GC is the focus of diagnosis and treatment of GC. Liquid biopsy technology can use high-throughput sequencing technology to detect biological genetic information in blood. Compared with traditional tissue biopsy, liquid biopsy can determine the dynamic changes of tumor. As a noninvasive auxiliary diagnostic method, liquid biopsy can provide diagnostic and prognostic information concerning the progression of the disease. Liquid biopsy includes circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA, circulating tumor RNA, tumor educated platelets, exosomes, and cytokines. This article describes the classification of liquid biopsy and its application value in the occurrence, development, and therapeutic efficacy of GC.
