RESUMO

Anti-cataract activity of vitamin E analog with shortened side chain--2'-4'-methyl-pentenyl-acetoxy-2,5,7-tetramethylchroman has been studied. It is shown on the model system that the analog of vitamin E inhibits the increase of the lens agent fluorescence under irradiation of its homogenates by polychrome light. Taking no negative effect on the lens capsule epithelium, the drug normalizes the content of vitamin E in the blood and increases activity of Na+, K+, ATPase in the cortex and capsule of rabbits lenses in dynamics under simulation of light cataract in vivo.

RESUMO

Peculiarities of the hen embryo fibroblasts growth on substates and different relief and surface properties (lavsan glass [correction of grass], gauze and pellicle). The most quick and intensive growth with monolayer forming occurs on the glass [correction of grass] surface, although degradation of the culture also starts here earlier. The most slow and less active growth takes place on the gauze but the cells keep growing when fibroblast degenerative changes on the glass [correction of grass] are almost over. Lavsan pellicle is between glass [correction of grass] and gauze as a substrate for fibroblasts growth. Not all but only some cells from the suspension used for the explantation are likely to possess an ability for adhesion and the following growth on lavsan. In other words a natural selection of cells occurs during their adaptation to in vitro conditions.

RESUMO

Patients with adenoma of the prostate appear to benefit from application of the unit "Prostatron" in one session without anesthesiologic maintenance and under outpatient conditions in the absolute majority of cases, as evidenced by reports from abroad and our own experience gained in the treatment of patients with adenoma of the prostate. This permits it to be recommended for widespread use in urological settings. Clinical, uroflowmetric and ultrasonic monitoring of the urogenital system status in patients with adenoma of the prostate, which is to be delivered in all such patients,--if used in combination with TUMWT,--becomes a means of really active assessment of treatment effectiveness rather than a passive recording of the moment of worsening of the patient' state.

RESUMO

The results of experimental and clinical studies of the effect of contrykal and aminocaproic acid on tissue regeneration in deep burns are presented. In the experiment, by means of planimetric, histologic, histochemical and biochemical methods of investigation, the positive effect of inhibitors on healing of the burn wounds is shown. In treatment of 272 patients with deep burns, it was established that use of protease inhibitors at the phase of regeneration contributed to 2-fold acceleration of marginal epithelization, shortening of time of would preparation to autodermoplasty by 3-4 days, increase in effectiveness of survival of the cutaneous flaps. A possibility of wide clinical use of proteolysis inhibitors predominantly in combination with antibiotics is shown.

RESUMO

A study of peculiarities of secondary cataract formation in implantation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses in experiment on 60 rabbit eyes has shown that, besides the known factors of secondary cataract formation, a great role belongs to inflammatory reaction of all segments of the uveal tract leading to appearance of a transudate in the anterior chamber of the eye as well as to development of adhesions of the iris and ciliary body processes with the lens capsule, along which stromal elements of these segments of the uveal tract actively migrate.

RESUMO

Tetrapeptide tuftsin action on the activity of succinate dehydrogenase (SDG), malate dehydrogenase (MDG) and monoamine-oxidase (MAO) in microstructures of the neocortex, hippocampus and hypothalamus (supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei, retrochiasmic zone) has been investigated by means of histochemical methods. Simultaneously, pyruvate-, malate-, glutamate-, alfaketoglutamate-, succinate- and lactate-dehydrogenase activity in the neocortex and in the structures of the limbic system has been studied biochemically. SDG and MDG activity increases in neurons and glycocytes of all the hypothalamic formations mentioned. Changes in the activity of dehydrogenases in the hippocampus and neocortex under the same stimulation are less pronounced. MAO activity also increases in the nerve terminals converging on the bodies and dendrites of hypothalamic neurons and in the preterminal fibers of the neocortex, Tuftsin increases oxidative-reducing processes in various structures of the brain, but at the same time it possesses a predominant influence on the limbic system structures.

RESUMO

Three series of experiments on 72 rabbits have shown that lens tumor immunity is not related to the anaerobic nature of its energy metabolism and is not a consequence of lens capsule impermeability for chemical cancer genes. Ionizing radiation causes cataracts without malignancy of lens epithelial cells.
