La satisfacción estudiantil en el policlínico universitario / Thestudents satisfaction in the university polyclinic

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal, con el objetivo de caracterizar la satisfacción de los estudiantes en el Policlínico Universitario Romárico Oro Peña, en el curso 2013-2014. La población estuvo constituida por los 121 estudiantes de primer y segundo año, a los cuales se les aplicó una encuesta, tipo Escala de Likert. Resultó que la generalidad de los estudiantes consideró que los profesores están preparados para ejercer su función como docente y que todos son ejemplo de profesional. Las formas de organización de la enseñanza abordadas recibieron el criterio de bien por la mayoría de los estudiantes, de ellas se distinguen la Conferencia, el Seminario y la Educación en el Trabajo, respectivamente, mientras que la Clase Taller recibió los más bajos por ciento. Predominó la evaluación de bien en relación al aseguramiento bibliográfico. El área metodológica recibió las mejores valoraciones de satisfacción del estudiantado, continuado por el trabajo de la Biblioteca y las principales insatisfacciones se centraron sobre el trabajo de los Laboratorios. Aunque la tendencia general estuvo a favor de la satisfacción con el funcionamiento de los diferentes movimientos de la FEU, las mayores satisfacciones recayeron sobre la Ayudantía y las menores sobre el trabajo del Movimiento Mario Muñoz Monroy. La mayoría de los estudiantes encuestados cumplieron sus expectativas, en relación al médico que esperan ser y de formarse como médico en el Modelo Policlínico Universitario. Se considera conveniente realizar y generalizar estudios que permitan conocer la satisfacción de los estudiantes (AU)

A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out in order to characterize the students satisfaction in Romárico Oro Peña University Polyclinic during 2013 to 2014 academic year. The population consisted of 121 students from first and second years, to whom a Likert-type scale survey was applied. The majority of the students considered that the professors are prepared to put into effect their teaching function and all of them are a professional example. The addressed teaching forms of organization, distinguishing the lecture, the seminar and the education based in work received a good criterion by most of the students, whereas the workshop class received the lowest percentages. In relation to the bibliography assurance, the evaluation of good prevailed. The methodological area received the best appraisal of student satisfaction, followed by the library work, and the main dissatisfactions focused on the laboratory work. Although the general trend was of satisfaction with the functioning of the various movements of FEU organization, the greatest satisfaction was with the assistantship and the lowest ones with the work of Mario Muñoz Monroy Movement. Most of the surveyed students fulfilled their expectations in relation to the doctor they expect to be, according to the model of the University Polyclinic. It is advisable to develop and generalize studies that allow knowing the satisfaction of students (AU)

Nuevo Programa de formación de Médicos Latinoamericanos: una mirada desde la satisfacción estudiantil / New Latin-American doctors Training Program: a look from the students´ satisfaction

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal, con el objetivo de caracterizar la satisfacción de los estudiantes con el nuevo Programa de formación de médicos latinoamericanos, de la Facultad Policlínico Juan Aurelio Triana Pérez de Jagüey Grande, en el período de enero a julio de 2007. La muestra de 80 estudiantes fue seleccionada por muestreo sistemático, a los cuales se les aplicó un cuestionario tipo escala de Likert. Los resultados demostraron que los estudiantes se sienten satisfechos con el modelo pedagógico y los componentes que lo integran; resaltando el desarrollo de la práctica docente comunitaria desde el inicio de la carrera y la ubicación de los principales escenarios docentes, como las dos variables que más insatisfacción generaron, por lo que constituyen la debilidad del programa. Además apreciaron de forma muy positiva las condiciones particulares del proceso docente educativo, validadas por la alta satisfacción general del estudiantado de formarse con ese programa. A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out to characterize the students´ satisfaction with the new Latin-American doctors training program at the Juan Aurelio Triana Pérez Teaching Polyclinics of Jagüey Grande, in the period from January to July, 2007. The sample of 80 students was chosen through systematical sampling and a Likert scale type questionnaire was applied to them. The results showed that the students are satisfied with the pedagogic model and the components that integrate it. The development of the community teaching practice from the beginning of the career and the location of the main teaching institutions were highlighted as the two variables that generated more dissatisfaction, therefore constituting the weakness of the program. The students also appreciated in a very positive way the particular conditions of the educational teaching process, validated by the high general satisfaction of the students to train themselves with this program. The study suggests the convenience of carrying out and generalizing investigations that allow knowing the students´ satisfaction(AU)

Intento Suicida y Adolescencia: una mirada teórica al fenómeno / Suicidal attempt and adolescence: a theoretical view to this behaviour

Se realizó un trabajo de revisión bibliográfica, con la finalidad de compilar las teorías que intentan explicar el intento suicida, una de las conductas autolesivas, cuya génesis se remonta a la antigüedad; se mantuvo latente a lo largo del desarrollo histórico de la humanidad y está en ascenso e involucrando a la población infanto-juvenil, para pesar de la especie humana. Se incursionó además en la caracterización del fenómeno en la población adolescente, aceptando la periodicidad de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), y se incursiona en las explicaciones del intento suicida en este grupo de edad, precisando la relación de los estados afectivos (ansiedad y depresión) con el intento suicida, las situaciones familiares que predisponen las conductas suicidas, las causas del desencadenamiento de esta conducta en esta edad. Se concluye con los factores de riesgos individuales, familiares y sociales, reconocidos en la predisposición de la conducta suicida. Pese a reconocer la existencia de teorías biológicas, sociales y psicológicas, se critica la hiperbolización de su explicación, para concluir aceptando la pluricausalidad en la explicación de este comportamiento(AU)

A bibliographic review was carried out in order to compile the theories that explain suicidal attempt, one of the self-injurious behaviours whose genesis goes back to ancient times; remained dormant throughout the historical development of mankind and is on the rise and involving children and youngsters to the sorrow of the human species. The review also made incursions into the characterization of the phenomenon in the adolescent population, accepting the periodicity of the World Health Organization (WHO), and in the explanations of suicidal attempt in this age group, indicating the relationship of affective states (anxiety and depression) with suicidal attempts, family situations that predispose suicidal behaviour, the causes of the onset of this behaviour at this age. The review concludes with individual, family and social risk factors, recognized in the predisposition of suicidal behaviour. Despite the recognition of the existence of biological, social and psychological theories there is criticism towards the exaggeration of its explanation, to end upaccepting the pluri-causality in the explanation of this behaviour(AU)
