RESUMO

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a transformative technology that is reshaping industries and daily life, leading us towards a connected future that is full of possibilities and innovations. In this paper, we present a robust framework for the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the agricultural sector in Bangladesh. The framework encompasses the integration of IoT, data mining techniques, and cloud monitoring systems to enhance productivity, improve water management, and provide real-time crop forecasting. We conducted rigorous experimentation on the framework. We achieve an accuracy of 87.38% for the proposed model in predicting data harvest. Our findings highlight the effectiveness and transparency of the framework, underscoring the significant potential of the IoT in transforming agriculture and empowering farmers with data-driven decision-making capabilities. The proposed framework might be very impactful in real-life agriculture, especially for monsoon agriculture-based countries like Bangladesh.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: We determine the significant relation of HDL cholesterol and total cholesterol/HDL cholesterol between CETP I405V genotypes and activity of CETP. CETP is an essential for transfer of cholesterol ester to the liver from peripheral tissues which facilitating its transfer to TG rich VLDL. Reduction activity of CETP I405V may associate with genotypes of CETP I405V. This study is undertaken to assess the presence and impact of CETP I405V genotype in our population. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this study 100 acute myocardial infarction patients and 100 normal age & sex matched healthy individuals were included. Serum Lipid profile was estimated by using universal standard methods whereas CETP I405V genotype was studied by ARMS PCR. RESULT: There is presence of CETP 405Val genotype both in patient as well as in control group. RESULTs show that HDL cholesterol (p<0.0001) and ratio of total cholesterol/HDL cholesterol are significantly (p<0.0043) associated with Val/Val genotype. In addition to that the CETP I405V genotype is associated with inhibition of CETP activity with higher HDL-C level and decreased total cholesterol/HDL cholesterol ratio. CONCLUSION: Our results show that the CETP I405V genotypes are very much significantly determinant of HDL cholesterol in patients with CHD.

RESUMO

L. acidophilus is a homofermentative, microaerophilic, short chain gram positive microorganism with rod morphology having its bacteriocins belonging to class II a. Several bacteriocins of L. acidophilus have been isolated and characterized. These are structurally similar, but their molecular weight varies as well as their spectrum of antimicrobial activity. They exhibit important technical properties, i.e., thermostability and retaining of activity at a wide pH range along with strong inhibitory actions against food spoilage and pathogenic bacteria make them an important class of biopreservatives. L. acidophilus can be added as an adjunct in many food fermentation processes contributing to unique taste, flavor, and texture. It also preserves the products by producing lactic acid and bacteriocins. A lot of new information regarding the bacteriocins of L. acidophilus has emerged during the last few years. In this review, an attempt has been made to summarize and discuss all the available information regarding the sources of bacteriocins production, their characteristics, and their antimicrobial action along with their application.

RESUMO

AIMS: To assess the role of MDR1 and gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor-gamma 2 sub unit (GABRG2) gene polymorphism in seizure susceptibility in generalized seizure (GS) and febrile seizure (FS) patients and to evaluate MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphism's role in absorption of the anti-epileptic drug, phenytoin (PHT) in a cohort of patients. METHODS: One hundred twenty-seven cases of seizure (86 GS and 41 FS) patients were analyzed for MDR1 C3435T and GABRG2 C588T gene polymorphisms using restriction fragment length polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction. Serum PHT levels were analyzed. RESULTS: The T allele of MDR1 C3435T and GABRG2 C588T gene polymorphism was higher in GS in the Indian population compared with controls. From the data in GS, CT and TT genotype carriers of the MDR1 gene and TT genotype carriers of the GABRG2 gene had more recurrent seizures compared with others. MDR1 T allele carriers in the seizure reoccurrence (SR) group of GS and FS were high compared with the well-controlled seizure group (with no seizures after treatment). TT genotype carriers in SR group were high in FS (with regard to MDR1 gene polymorphism) and GS (with regard to GABRG2 gene polymorphism) compared with a well-controlled seizure group. MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphism affects serum PHT levels (p<0.015). Association of dose PHT ratio and genotype groups of MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphism showed a significant association (p<0.05). MDR1*CC genotype was more common in cases with low serum PHT levels. In addition, it is evident that CT and TT genotype carriers have a high percentage of SR with elevated serum PHT levels. CONCLUSIONS: Our results show that the MDR1 3435T and GABRG2 588T alleles play a role in seizure occurrence. Moreover, the MDR1 3435T allele also affects PHT absorption. We suggest MDR1 C3435T and GABRG2 C588T genotyping would be of value in order to lower the risk of concentration-dependent drug toxicity and for better patient management.
