[Physical and psychological health components of elderly and old people and their satisfaction with medical and social care].

The article presents the analysis of physical and psychological health components characterizing the quality of life of lonely and living alone people aged 60 years and older in various settings of medical and social care provision. A significant portion of respondents is satisfied with the medical and social care, but the physical and psychological health components of the elderly manifest the low quality of life, irrespective of the settings of medical and social care provision.

[The radioimmunological determination of human placental lactogen with the RIO-PL-125I reagent kit]. / Radioimmunologicheskoe opredelenie platsentarnogo laktogena cheloveka naborom reaktivov RIO-PL-125I.

The authors described the development of a radioimmunoassay for the determination of human placental lactogen (PL) in the blood serum of pregnant women. Methods of obtaining RIA components were developed: highly refined and stable agents of the labeled and unlabeled hormones, specific antisera and a highly effective separating agent. The test system and commercial kits were used for comparative determination of the blood PL concentration at various terms of pregnancy. Similar results were obtained. The above test system was laid in the basis of a commercial kit RIO-PL-125I (USSR).

[Obtaining antibodies to placental lactogen for radioimmunologic analysis]. / Poluchenie antitel k platsentarnomu laktogenu dlia radioimmunologicheskogo analiza.

The authors describe the approaches to obtaining specific antibodies to placental lactogen (PL) with required analytical parameters in order to investigate this hormone by RIA. A study was made of the dependence of the analytical parameters of antibodies on a dose of immunogen, the type of adjuvant (Freund's adjuvant, pertussoid monovaccine), a scheme of immunization, etc. The authors proposed that specific (primary) antibodies immobilized on the staphylococcal reagent A protein should be used as fixing and separating agents in the radioimmunoassay test-system for the determination of PL concentration in order to improve the parameters of the analytical system and to reduce the time and procedure of analysis. The RIA determination of the PL serum concentration was used for the production of kits of reagents RIO-PL-125I.
