RESUMO
The horn extracts from the saiga of different age were used to investigate its effect on organotypic tissue culture of explants from the rat spleen. From 4 to 10 amino acids were detected in the different extract fractions. The horn extracts from the young saiga, at the effective concentration 1 ng/ml, showed stimulating effect in spleen tissue cultures as compared to the control explants. No effect of extracts from the old saiga was observed in tissue culture. Possibly, a stimulation of the cellular proliferation is due to the great amino acid content in saiga horn; however this phenomenon is decreased by the aging.

The effect of the synthetic tetrapeptides and amino acids composing them, in concentration 10(-12) M, was investigated in organotypic tissue culture on the cell proliferation and apoptosis development in six tissue explants (ecto-, meso- and entodermal genesis) in 3 and 24 months old rats. The tetrapeptides demonstrated the greater tissue-specificity, as compared to the amino acids. Each tetrapeptide stimulated proliferation in only one corresponded tissue type. The amino acids stimulated proliferation and apoptosis in three-five tissues. It can be suggested, that tissue-specificity in these biologically active substances is depended on the structure complexity. An active amino acids number decreased in old tissues, but tetrapeptides stimulated proliferation both in young and old tissues.

The effect the synthetic tetra-, tripeptides and amino acids, composed them, in concentration 10(-12) M was investigated in organotypic tissue culture on the cell proliferation and apoptosis development in six tissue explants (ecto-, meso- and entodermal genesis) in rats at age 3 months old. The tetrapeptide demonstrated the greater tissue-specificity, as compared to the tripeptides and amino acids. Each tetrapeptide stimulated proliferation in only one corresponded tissue type. Less tissue-specificity was observed in the tripeptides, which stimulated proliferation and apoptosis in one (one case)--four tissues. The amino acids stimulated proliferation and apoptosis in three--five tissues. It can be suggested, that tissue-specificity in these biologically active substances is depended on the structure complexity. It is discussed, that the tetrapeptide tissue-specificity is related to the complementar interaction to the DNA site-specific blocks.

In investigations carried out with organotypic culture of mediobasal preoptic area (MPA) of hypothalamus it was established that pineal peptide preparations epitalon (2 ng/ml) and epithalamin (100 ng/ml) stimulate the development of proliferative activity of explants in 3 month and 24 months female rats. It has been shown that epithalamin is more effective in young rats in comparison with old animals, but epitalon as well as epithalamin have almost the same less pronounced inducing effect on growth zone in MPA explants from young and old animals. This effect is tissue specific and could be dependent on inhibition of apoptosis.
