RESUMO

Obesity is a global public health problem and is related with fatal diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Medical and lifestyle-related strategies to combat obesity have their limitations. White adipose tissue (WAT) browning is a promising strategy for increasing energy expenditure in individuals with obesity. Uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) drives WAT browning. We previously screened natural products that enable induction of Ucp1 and demonstrated that these natural products induced WAT browning and increased energy expenditure in mice with diet-induced obesity. In this study, we aimed to extensively optimise the structure of compound 1, previously shown to promote WAT browning. Compound 3 s exhibited a significantly higher ability to induce Ucp1 in white and brown adipocytes than did compound 1. A daily injection of compound 3 s at 5 mg/kg prevented weight gain by 13.6 % in high-fat diet-fed mice without any toxicological observation. In addition, compound 3 s significantly improved glucose homeostasis, decreased serum triacylglycerol levels, and reduced total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels, without altering dietary intake or physical activity. Pharmaceutical properties such as solubility, lipophilicity, and membrane permeability as well as metabolic stability, half-life (T1/2), and blood exposure ratio of i.p to i.v were significantly improved in compound 3 s when compared with those in compound 1. Regarding the mode of action of WAT browning, the induction of Ucp1 and Prdm4 by compounds 1 and 3 s was dependent on Akt1 in mouse embryonic fibroblasts. Therefore, this study suggests the potential of compound 3 s as a therapeutic agent for individuals with obesity and related metabolic diseases, which acts through the induction of WAT browning as well as brown adipose tissue activation.

Shared kitchens, where users share kitchen space, are becoming popular worldwide due to the economic cost savings of startup businesses. This study conducted monitoring of microbial and chemical hazards from prepared foods and the environment of shared kitchen facilities, surveyed shared kitchen operators, and compared shared kitchen regulations between Korea and other countries. The monitoring results indicate that the hygiene status of the facilities and the microbial and chemical hazards in the prepared foods were all within the standard specifications, showing significantly lower levels compared to regular restaurants (p < 0.05). In particular, concurrent-use and time-division types of open shared kitchens showed significantly lower levels of both hazards than separated-individual kitchens. Survey results of hygiene inspection also confirmed better hygiene management in concurrent-use and time-division types of open shared kitchens in Korea. However, more frequent cleaning and disinfection, hygiene inspections, and training are high economic burdens in the operation of shared kitchens compared to regular restaurants. Moreover, mandatory insurance subscriptions, the operator's responsibility in hygiene-related incidents, and high operational costs collectively challenge shared kitchens' competitiveness in the food service market. Critical reassessments of regulations utilizing the benefits of shared kitchens are needed to promote a safe dining culture and the growth of shared kitchen startup businesses.

Plasmodium ovale curtisi (Poc) and Plasmodium ovale wallikeri (Pow) represent distinct non-recombining Plasmodium species that are increasing in prevalence in sub-Saharan Africa. Though they circulate sympatrically, co-infection within human and mosquito hosts has rarely been described. Separate 18S rRNA real-time PCR assays that detect Poc and Pow were modified to allow species determination in parallel under identical cycling conditions. The lower limit of detection was 0.6 plasmid copies/µL (95% CI 0.4-1.6) for Poc and 4.5 plasmid copies/µL (95% CI 2.7-18) for Pow, or 0.1 and 0.8 parasites/µL, respectively, assuming 6 copies of 18s rRNA per genome. However, the assays showed cross-reactivity at concentrations greater than 103 plasmid copies/µL (roughly 200 parasites/µL). Mock mixtures were used to establish criteria for classifying mixed Poc/Pow infections that prevented false-positive detection while maintaining sensitive detection of the minority ovale species down to 100 copies/µL (<1 parasite/µL). When the modified real-time PCR assays were applied to field-collected blood samples from Tanzania and Cameroon, species identification by real-time PCR was concordant with nested PCR in 19 samples, but additionally detected two mixed Poc/Pow infections where nested PCR detected a single Po species. When real-time PCR was applied to oocyst-positive Anopheles midguts saved from mosquitoes fed on P. ovale-infected persons, mixed Poc/Pow infections were detected in 11/14 (79%). Based on these results, 8/9 P. ovale carriers transmitted both P. ovale species to mosquitoes, though both Po species could only be detected in the blood of two carriers. The described real-time PCR approach can be used to identify the natural occurrence of mixed Poc/Pow infections in human and mosquito hosts and reveals that such co-infections and co-transmission are likely more common than appreciated.

PURPOSE: To investigate the ciliary body anatomy and position of the implantable collamer lens (ICL) in low-vault eyes and analyze factors related to insufficient vault. SETTING: Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Guangzhou, China. DESIGN: Retrospective case-control observational study. METHODS: In this study, 73 eyes of 73 patients with an insufficient vault (<250 µm) were matched with 73 eyes with an ideal vault (250 to 750 µm). Ultrasound biomicroscopy was used to determine the ciliary body morphology and ICL position. The biometric parameters acquired by Scheimpflug tomography were compared. The correlation between the vault and these factors was analyzed, and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator method was used to screen the risk factors for low vault. RESULTS: The low-vault group had a steeper corneal curvature, thicker lens thickness (LT), higher crystalline lens rise, and shorter axial length (AL) (all P < .005). The ciliary process length (CPL) and maximum ciliary body thickness (CBTmax) were significantly smaller, and the trabecular-ciliary angle (TCA), iris-ciliary angle (ICA), and ciliary sulcus width (CSW) were significantly greater in the low-vault eyes (all P < .005). The low-vault group had more ICL haptics below the ciliary process, and TCA, ICA, CPL, CBTmax, CSW, and haptic position were related to the postoperative vault (all P < .05). CPL, AL, and LT were identified as predictors of a low vault. CONCLUSIONS: Malposition of ICL haptics behind the ciliary process is a risk factor for low vault. A shorter CPL, thicker LT, and shorter AL are significant risk factors for the postoperative low vault.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate high-fat diet-induced obesity-triggered testicular cell senescence and endoplasmic reticulum stress. METHODS: We randomly and equally divided 10 four-week-old male C57BL/6J mice into a control and a high-fat group, the former fed with a diet of 10% fat content while the latter with a diet of 60% fat content to establish an obesity model. After eight weeks of feeding, we observed the pathological changes in the testis tissue of the mice by HE staining, detected the serum T content by ELISA, measured the telomere length in the testis cells by RT-PCR, and examined the activity of senescence-associated ß-galactosidase (SA-ß-gal) by histochemical staining. Using RT-qPCR and Western blot, we determined the protein and mRNA expressions of the cell senescence markers p16 and p21 as well as the protein expressions of the endoplasmic reticulum stress markers GRP78 and CHOP in the testis tissue. RESULTS: Compared with the controls, the animals of the high-fat group showed a 45% increase in the body weight, disordered structure of the spermatogenic cells, reduced level of serum T and shortened telomere length of the testis cells (P < 0.01). The mRNA and protein expressions of p16 and p21 were dramatically higher in the high-fat than in the control group (P<0.01), so were the intracellular SA-ß-gal activity and the protein expressions of CHOP and GRP78 (P<0.01). CONCLUSION: High-fat diet-induced obesity triggers testicular cell senescence and endoplasmic reticulum stress in male mice.

OBJECTIVES@#To study the protective effect of melatonin (Mel) against oxygen-induced retinopathy (OIR) in neonatal mice and the role of the HMGB1/NF-κB/NLRP3 axis.@*METHODS@#Neonatal C57BL/6J mice, aged 7 days, were randomly divided into a control group, a model group (OIR group), and a Mel treatment group (OIR+Mel group), with 9 mice in each group. The hyperoxia induction method was used to establish a model of OIR. Hematoxylin and eosin staining and retinal flat-mount preparation were used to observe retinal structure and neovascularization. Immunofluorescent staining was used to measure the expression of proteins and inflammatory factors associated with the HMGB1/NF-κB/NLRP3 axis and lymphocyte antigen 6G. Colorimetry was used to measure the activity of myeloperoxidase.@*RESULTS@#The OIR group had destruction of retinal structure with a large perfusion-free area and neovascularization, while the OIR+Mel group had improvement in destruction of retinal structure with reductions in neovascularization and perfusion-free area. Compared with the control group, the OIR group had significant increases in the expression of proteins and inflammatory factors associated with the HMGB1/NF-κB/NLRP3 axis, the expression of lymphocyte antigen 6G, and the activity of myeloperoxidase (P<0.05). Compared with the OIR group, the OIR+Mel group had significant reductions in the above indices (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the OIR group had significant reductions in the expression of melatonin receptors in the retina (P<0.05). Compared with the OIR group, the OIR+Mel group had significant increases in the expression of melatonin receptors (P<0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Mel can alleviate OIR-induced retinal damage in neonatal mice by inhibiting the HMGB1/NF-κB/NLRP3 axis and may exert an effect through the melatonin receptor pathway.

Background: Estimates of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) seroprevalence in young children and risk factors for seropositivity are scarce. Using data from a prospective cohort study of households during the pre-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine period, we estimated SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalence by age and evaluated risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity. Methods: The SARS-CoV-2 Epidemiology and Response in Children (SEARCh) study enrolled 175 Maryland households (690 participants) with ≥1 child aged 0-4 years during November 2020-March 2021; individuals vaccinated against COVID-19 were ineligible. At enrollment, participants completed questionnaires about sociodemographic and health status and work, school, and daycare attendance. Participants were tested for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in sera. Logistic regression models with generalized estimating equations (GEE) to account for correlation within households assessed predictors of individual- and household-level SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity. Results: Of 681 (98.7%) participants with enrollment serology results, 55 (8.1%; 95% confidence interval [CI], 6.3%-10.4%) participants from 21 (12.0%) households were seropositive for SARS-CoV-2. Among seropositive participants, fewer children than adults reported being tested for SARS-CoV-2 infection before enrollment (odds ratio [OR] = 0.23; 95% CI, .06-.73). Seropositivity was similar by age (GEE OR vs 0-4 years: 1.19 for 5-17 years, 1.36 for adults; P = .16) and was significantly higher among adults working outside the home (GEE adjusted OR = 2.2; 95% CI, 1.1-4.4) but not among children attending daycare or school. Conclusions: Before study enrollment, children and adults in this cohort had similar rates of SARS-CoV-2 infection as measured by serology. An adult household member working outside the home increased a household's odds of SARS-CoV-2 infection, whereas a child attending daycare or school in person did not.

Importance: Few studies have prospectively assessed SARS-CoV-2 community infection in children aged 0 to 4 years. Information about SARS-CoV-2 incidence and clinical and virological features in young children could help guide prevention and mitigation strategies. Objective: To assess SARS-CoV-2 incidence, clinical and virological features, and symptoms in a prospective household cohort and to compare viral load by age group, symptoms, and SARS-CoV-2 lineage in young children, older children, and adults. Design, Setting, and Participants: This prospective cohort study enrolled 690 participants from 175 Maryland households with 1 or more children aged 0 to 4 years between November 24, 2020, and October 15, 2021. For 8 months after enrollment, participants completed weekly symptom questionnaires and submitted self-collected nasal swabs for SARS-CoV-2 qualitative real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing, quantitative RT-PCR testing, and viral lineage determination. For the analyses, SARS-CoV-2 Alpha and Delta lineages were considered variants of interest or concern. Sera collected at enrollment and at approximately 4 months and 8 months after enrollment were assayed for SARS-CoV-2 spike and nucleocapsid protein antibodies. Main Outcomes and Measures: Incidence, clinical and virological characteristics, and symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection by age group and correlations between (1) highest detected viral load and symptom frequency and (2) highest detected viral load and SARS-CoV-2 lineage. Results: Among 690 participants (355 [51.4%] female and 335 [48.6%] male), 256 individuals (37.1%) were children aged 0 to 4 years, 100 (14.5%) were children aged 5 to 17 years, and 334 (48.4%) were adults aged 18 to 74 years. A total of 15 participants (2.2%) were Asian, 24 (3.5%) were Black, 603 (87.4%) were White, 43 (6.2%) were multiracial, and 5 (0.7%) were of other races; 33 participants (4.8%) were Hispanic, and 657 (95.2%) were non-Hispanic. Overall, 54 participants (7.8%) had SARS-CoV-2 infection during the surveillance period, including 22 of 256 children (8.6%) aged 0 to 4 years, 11 of 100 children (11.0%) aged 5 to 17 years, and 21 of 334 adults (6.3%). Incidence rates per 1000 person-weeks were 2.25 (95% CI, 1.28-3.65) infections among children aged 0 to 4 years, 3.48 (95% CI, 1.59-6.61) infections among children aged 5 to 17 years, and 1.08 (95% CI, 0.52-1.98) infections among adults. Children aged 0 to 17 years with SARS-CoV-2 infection were more frequently asymptomatic (11 of 30 individuals [36.7%]) compared with adults (3 of 21 individuals [14.3%]), with children aged 0 to 4 years most frequently asymptomatic (7 of 19 individuals [36.8%]). The highest detected viral load did not differ between asymptomatic vs symptomatic individuals overall (median [IQR], 2.8 [1.5-3.3] log10 copies/mL vs 2.8 [1.8-4.4] log10 copies/mL) or by age group (median [IQR] for ages 0-4 years, 2.7 [2.4-4.4] log10 copies/mL; ages 5-17 years: 2.4 [1.1-4.0] log10 copies/mL; ages 18-74 years: 2.9 [1.9-4.6] log10 copies/mL). The number of symptoms was significantly correlated with viral load among adults (R = 0.69; P < .001) but not children (ages 0-4 years: R = 0.02; P = .91; ages 5-17 years: R = 0.18; P = .58). The highest detected viral load was greater among those with Delta variant infections (median [IQR], 4.4 [3.9-5.1] log10 copies/mL) than those with infections from variants not of interest or concern (median [IQR], 1.9 [1.1-3.6] log10 copies/mL; P = .009) or those with Alpha variant infections (median [IQR], 2.6 [2.3-3.4] log10 copies/mL; P = .006). Conclusions and Relevance: In this study, SARS-CoV-2 infections were frequently asymptomatic among children aged 0 to 4 years; the presence and number of symptoms did not correlate with viral load. These findings suggest that symptom screening may be insufficient to prevent outbreaks involving young children.

Objective:To understand the work experiences of vaccination nurses in western China under the background of free vaccination with COVID-19 vaccine of the entire population, and provide references for these nurses to better their performance in large-scale COVID-19 vaccination.Methods:Semi-structured interviews were conducted on working experience of COVID-19 vaccination with 11 community outpatient nurses who participated in the " Second Western Immunization Planning and Health Summit Forum" held in Chongqing on April 16 to 18, 2021. The sample size was set as information saturation, and the 7-step Colaizzi analytical methods was used in data clarification and analysis.Results:Such interviews extracted three themes: difficulties and challenges, psychological experience, organization and coordination. Difficulties and challenges included shortage of nursing human resources, shortage of resources for routine vaccination, imperfect online appointments, and epidemic prevention and control risks brought by mass vaccination; psychological experience included strong sense of responsibility, accumulation of anxiety, and lack of social identity; organizational coordination included organizational and the overall integration of vaccination resources.Conclusions:Community vaccination nurses have demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and mission in the work of the COVID-19 vaccination. Software and hardware facilities should be enhanced for higher efficiency; vaccination nurses deserve more psychological assistance to help ease their tension; the localities are recommended to organize their vaccination work to fit local conditions.

This study aims to compare the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) with semen quality in men from couples with primary and secondary infertility. Semen samples were collected from 133 men who requested fertility evaluation. Seminal tract infection with Ureaplasma spp. (UU), Mycoplasma hominis (MH), Mycoplasma genitalium (MG), Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG), and herpes simplex virus-2 (HSV-2) was assessed by PCR-based diagnostic assays. Among all patients, the prevalence of STIs was higher in men from couples with primary infertility than that in men from couples with secondary infertility (39.7% vs 21.7%, P = 0.03). The prevalence of UU was 28.8% and 13.3% in men from couples with primary and secondary infertility, respectively. Men from couples with primary infertility were more likely to be positive for UU than men from couples with secondary infertility (P = 0.04). Regarding the UU subtype, the prevalence of Ureaplasma urealyticum (Uuu) and Ureaplasma parvum (Uup; including Uup1, Uup3, Uup6, and Uup14) did not differ between the two groups. No associations between the prevalence rates of MH, MG, and CT were found in men from either infertility group. A lower sperm concentration was associated with STI pathogen positivity in men with primary infertility according to the crude model (P = 0.04). The crude and adjusted models showed that semen volume (both P = 0.03) and semen leukocyte count (both P = 0.02) were independently associated with secondary infertility. These findings suggest the importance of classifying the type of infertility during routine diagnosis of seminal tract infections.

Hepatitis B virus infection is not only a huge burden in the field of social health but also a major public health problem that affects the lives and health of the people. Simple, rapid, feasible detection of HBV is critical for its prevention and spread, especially in the developing countries with low-resource laboratories. To this end, we combined multienzyme isothermal rapid amplification (MIRA) and lateral flow dipstick (LFD) strip to detect HBV. A pair of primers targeting the conserved region of HBV genome was designed and used in MIRA-LFD assay. Our results found that the entire amplification of MIRA-LFD only takes 10 min at 37°C and the dilution of the amplification products was added in the LFD strip and observed by the naked eye after 10 min. The detection sensitivity of this method can reach 10 pg. The 45 clinical samples were detected by MIRA-LFD and real-time PCR. The accuracy rate of MIRA-LFD was 100%. Therefore, these characteristics of our newly developed MIRA-LFD assay make it particularly useful and suitable for detecting HBV in the resource-limited condition.

The dysregulation of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling has been implicated in tumorigenesis, tumor progression, angiogenesis, and chemoresistance. The small-molecule AZD4547 is a potent inhibitor of FGF receptors. This study was performed to investigate the antitumor effects and determine the mechanistic details of AZD4547 in ovarian cancer cells. AZD4547 markedly inhibited the proliferation and increased the apoptosis of ovarian cancer cells. AZD4547 also suppressed the migration and invasion of ovarian cancer cells under nontoxic conditions. Furthermore, it attenuated the formation of spheroids and the self-renewal capacities of ovarian cancer stem cells and exerted an antiangiogenic effect. It also suppressed in vivo tumor growth in mice. Collectively, this study demonstrated the antitumor effect of AZD4547 in ovarian cancer cells and suggests that it is a promising agent for ovarian cancer therapy.

Membranes or skin dressing are common treatments for skin wound injuries, collagen being one the most effective materials for their manufacturing. Many different sources of collagen with diverse methods of extraction and processing have been used, with evidence of positive effects on the stimulation of skin wound healing. In spite of these factors, there is still limited understanding of the interaction between collagen membranes and biological tissues, especially due to the series of different types of collagen origin. In this context, this study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the available literature examining the effect of various collagen membranes for accelerating skin wound healing in experimental animal models and clinical trials. The present review was performed from March to May of 2020 searching in two databases (PubMed and Scopus). The following Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) descriptors were used: "collagen", "dressing", "membranes", "skin" and "wound". After the eligibility assessment, 16 studies were included and analyzed. The studies demonstrated that collagen was obtained predominantly from bovine and porcine sources, by acetic acid and/or enzyme dissolution. Additionally, most of the studies demonstrated that the membranes were processed mainly by freeze-drying or lyophilization methods. All the in vivo and clinical trial studies evidenced positive outcomes in the wound healing process, thus confirming that collagen membranes are one of the most efficient treatment for skin wounds, highlighting the enormous potential of this biomaterial to be used for skin tissue engineering purposes.

Atovaquone-proguanil remains effective against multidrug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum in Southeast Asia, but resistance is mediated by a single point mutation in cytochrome b (cytb) that can arise during treatment. Among 14 atovaquone-proguanil treatment failures in a clinical trial in Cambodia, only one recrudescence harbored the cytb mutation Y268C. Deep sequencing did not detect the mutation at baseline or in the first 3 days of treatment, suggesting that it arose de novo Further sequencing across cytb similarly found no low-frequency cytb mutations that were up-selected from baseline to recrudescence. Copy number amplification in dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) and cytb as markers of atovaquone tolerance was also absent. Cytb mutation played a minor role in atovaquone-proguanil treatment failures in an active comparator clinical trial.

Objective@#To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of HIV/AIDS infected students in Shandong Province, to provide a basis for the prevention and control of AIDS transmission in the student population.@*Methods@#All 863 HIV/AIDS students cases during 2010-2019 were collected in Shandong Province. Epidemiological characteristics was described and the trends in the 10 years since 2010 was analyzed.@*Results@#These 863 HIV/AIDS students were mainly transmitted through homosexual sex (763 cases, 88.41%), and the samples were mainly from voluntary consultation testing (433 cases, 50.17%). From 2010 to 2019, the proportion of student cases in the total number of cases showed an increasing trend ( χ 2 trend =30.21, P <0.01). Among them, the proportion of homosexual transmission cases increased year by year ( χ 2 trend =6.35, P =0.01), the proportion of cases aged 18-22 years increased year by year ( χ 2 trend =6.10, P =0.01), the proportion of cases with college degree or above increased year by year ( χ 2 trend =4.26, P =0.04). At present, voluntary consultation testing were the main source.There was no significant difference between the years of sample sources ( χ 2 trend =2.97, P =0.09).@*Conclusion@#The report number of students in Shandong Province are on the rise in recent years, especially those infected by same sex transmission, mainly with high education background, which calls for targeted strategies and intervention measures.

Background/Aims@#Maintaining a mean arterial pressure (MAP) ≥ 65 mmHg during septic shock should be based on individual circumstances, but specific target is poorly understood. We investigated associations between time-weighted average (TWA) hemodynamic parameters during the initial resuscitative period and 28-day mortality. @*Methods@#Prospectively collected data were obtained from a septic shock patient registry, according to the Sepsis-3 definition, between 2016 and 2018. The TWA systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, MAP, shock index, and pulse pressure (PP) during the first 6 hours after shock recognition were compared. Multivariable regression analysis was performed to assess associations between these parameters and 28-day mortality. @*Results@#Of 340 patients with septic shock, 92 died. Only the median TWA PP differed between the survivors and non-survivors (39.2 mmHg vs. 43.0 mmHg, p = 0.020), whereas the other indexes did not. When PP was divided into quartiles ( 48 mmHg), the mortality rate was higher in the highest quartile (41.2%). Multivariable logistic analysis revealed that PP (odds ratio [OR], 1.28; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.012 to 1.622; p = 0.039) and PP of > 48 mmHg (OR, 2.25; 95% CI, 1.272 to 3.981; p = 0.005) were independently associated with 28-day mortality. @*Conclusions@#PP was significantly associated with 28-day mortality in patients with septic shock and MAP maintained at > 65 mmHg during the first 6 hours. Further studies are warranted to optimize strategies for maintaining PP and MAP at > 65 mmHg during the early resuscitative period.

Objective:To evaluate the effects of intermittent change the angle of operating table on the skin in pressure areas of patients in prone position.Methods:A total of 150 hospitalized patients for elective surgical treatment in Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital from January 2019 to June 2019 were selected as subjects. The patients were divided into control group, 15° test group and 30° test group by random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received routine intraoperative pressure ulcer prevention measures, the 15° test group on the control group, the itinerant nurses adjusted the angle of the operating table according to the left 15°-supine-right 15° every half hour, and the 30° test group on the control group, the itinerant nurses adjusted the angle of the operating table according to the left 30°-supine-right 30° every half hour. The incidence of surgically related pressure ulcers and doctors' satisfaction with the surgical position of the three groups of patients were evaluated.Results:Pressure ulcers occurred in 8 patients of the control group, the incidence of pressure ulcers was 16%. Pressure ulcer occurred in 0 patient of the 15° test group, the incidence of pressure ulcers was 0. Pressure ulcers occurred in 2 cases in the 30° test group, the incidence of pressure ulcers was 4%. The difference was statistically significant ( χ2 value was 10.120, P<0.05). Further comparison showed that the incidence of pressure ulcers was statistically significant between the control group and the 15° test group ( P<0.016 7), while the incidence of pressure ulcers was not statistically significant between the control group and the 30° test group, between the 15° test group and the 30° test group ( P>0.016 7). The results of the postoperative doctors' satisfaction with the surgical body position were (27.880 ± 1.637), (27.520 ± 1.693), (26.920 ± 1.947) points in the control group, the 15° test group and the 30° test group, there was a statistically significant difference among the three groups ( F value was 3.779, P<0.05). Further comparison showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the score of surgical position satisfaction between the control group and the 15° test group, between the 15° test group and the 30° test group ( P>0.05). The satisfaction score of surgeons in the control group was higher than that in the 30° test group, and the difference was statistically significant( P<0.05). Conclusions:Intermittent adjustment of surgical position can reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers and improve the quality of nursing in the operating room without affecting the convenience of the surgeon. The optimal effect was achieved by adjusting the angle of the operating bed according to the left-leaning 15°-supine-right-leaning 15°at an interval of 30 minutes.

This study aimed to propose an operational definition of late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) that incorporates both clinical symptoms and serum testosterone measurements to evaluate the prevalence of LOH in aging males in China. A population-based sample of 6296 men aged 40 years-79 years old was enrolled from six representative provinces in China. Serum total testosterone (TT), sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), and luteinizing hormone (LH) were measured and free testosterone (cFT) was calculated. The Aging Males' Symptoms (AMS) scale was used to evaluate the LOH symptoms. Finally, 5078 men were included in this analysis. The TT levels did not decrease with age (P = 0.59), and had no relationship with AMS symptoms (P = 0.87 for AMS total score, P = 0.74 for ≥ 3 sexual symptoms). The cFT levels decreased significantly with age (P < 0.01) and showed a negative association with the presence of ≥ 3 sexual symptoms (P = 0.03).
