[Dystrophic changes in the locomotor system of manual labourers].

The specific features of dystrophic changes in the locomotor system of manual and intellectual laborers were studied on the basis of clinical and radiation diagnosis. The rate of dystrophic vertebral column lesions was approximately equal in both groups (38.5 +/- 4.8 and 37.7 +/- 6.7, respectively); however, the manifestations of sanogenetic reactions generally developed as hypertrophy upon exposure to chronic functional overstrain and as atrophy in intellectual laborers. Decompensation of the adaptive sanogenetic reactions manifesting as reflex, radicular, or myelogenous symptoms was observed in both occupational groups. The intellectual laborers more frequently underwent surgical treatment for complications of dystrophic vertebral column lesions.

[Studies of segmentary and suprasegmentary levels of neuro-muscular disorders in manual workers].

The article presents results of neurophysiologic study of neuro-muscular disorders in skeletal and muscular diseases in oil industry workers. Findings are that intrasystemic relationships in nervous system of segmentary and suprasegmentary levels are involved into neuro-muscular disorders formation.

[Evaluating psychoemotional state of surgeons].

The article presents results concerning self-assessment of psychoemotional state and psychologic testing among surgeons. Findings are that most examinees demonstrate subjective and objective signs of psychologic disadaptation.

[Features of homeostasis in surgeons].

The article deals with results of studies concerning homeostasis system in surgeons working in major industrial city. Findings are disorders of elements balance, that manifest through lower content of some essential elements and accumulation of toxic ones. The authors defined correlations between adaptational level, immunologic and elemental states of the body.
