[Pulmonary hypertension in rheumatic heart disease: current approaches to diagnosis and therapy].

Pulmonary hypertension is a complex multidisciplinary problem in modern medicine. This review discusses its clinical and pathophysiological type associated with rheumatic heart disease. Current approaches to the pathogenesis and diagnosis of the disease are reflected; basic approaches to its treatment are discussed in terms of current clinical guidelines and new scientific achievements.

Health promotion in the workers of the limited liability company "Astrakhangazprom" in their working places (without discontinuing work) with the complexes of nutrients (including omega-3) enriched with vitamins, macro- and microelements, made in Russia yielded a positive therapeutic effect in improving the health status, in normalizing and improving laboratory and instrumental data, and in reducing sick cases with temporary disability. The duration of a health promotion course was 2 months.

Impedance boundary conditions for a metal film with a rough surface.

We have obtained local impedance boundary conditions for a metal film characterized by an isotropic, frequency-dependent, complex dielectric function epsilon(omega) that occupies the region zeta(x(1)) < x(3) < D. The surface-profile function zeta(x(1)) is assumed to be a single-valued function of x(1) that is differentiable as many times as is necessary. The electromagnetic field in the system is assumed to be p polarized with the plane of incidence, the x(1)x(3) plane. The results are used to study the scattering of p-polarized light from and its transmission through the metal film when the surface-profile function zeta(x(1)) in these calculations is assumed to be a stationary, zero-mean, Gaussian random process. These calculations are approximately four times faster than rigorous computer simulations, and their results are qualitatively and quantitatively in good agreement with those of the latter simulations.

[Prognostic decisions in organizing rescue and other emergency accident-recovery operations in extreme situations]. / Prognosticheskie resheniia pri organizatsii spasatel'nykh i drugikh neotlozhnykh avariino-vosstanovitel'nykh rabot v chrezvychainykh situatsiiakh.

The existing classifications of emergency situations have been analysed in the article. Based on their own experience, the authors propose a new approach to a problem of forecasting the activities of medical service in liquidation of the consequences of catastrophes. The classification worked out by the authors is specially tabulated, that makes it possible to take rapid prognostic decisions on organization of rescue and emergency actions.
